Just got my Spectre, followed instructions, plugged in etc and notice the cursor was sporadic - kept jumping to the top of the screen, spent over two hour messing around looking for updates - the HP auto update thingy didn't work. Windows update worked but nothing solved the issue.

Was about to return it to its box to send it back and i plugged the charging cable - Problem gone!!.

I thought maybe some earthing or something, but realized the screen went dimmer at the same time the problem went away.

Plugged back in and screen came on to 100% - problem back - switched screen to 75% problem gone!!

 

Have I got a fault laptop? should I return it? Bought it through amazon so I can easily return it.

 

Hopes this helps some else as I coudn't find anything by a google search.

As the title says I need an active pen for my laptop (15-ar052sa)... when I bought the laptop I probably incorrectly assumed ALL HP laptops supported active pens - considering how not cheap they are. The page I found with the different types of pens and laptop models seems outdated for some reason.

After reinstalling my graphic drivers, Nvidia GT 630 now has 1gb memory (it should be 2gb) and Intel HD 4000 now has 2gb memory (it should be 1gb). How can I restore my Nvidia memory back to 2gb?
Please help.

When I start my Spectre, it starts windows in 640 by 480 mode, then (after about 10 sec) opens Bang & Oulfsen app, which askes to run, and (after I click on Yes) then switches to recommended 2560 by 1440 mode.  

 

Does anyone have a fix for this?

So i just bought the hp spectre x360 (2017 ac series) and was wondering if I should get a screen protector or case. Does anyone use a screen protector with theirs? What are the "best" options available for this device in terms of protection. Are there any cases/sleeves i should buy ASAP?

I got a HP Envy 13 2 days ago. I'e adjusted the scroll speed of my trackpad and it works as expected in Windows programs. However, in Chrome (which is the app I use the most) the trackpad speed is set to fastest, making it unusable. Can anyone help?

So I have a brand new Omen, purchased this month, customized with a Nvidia GTX 1050 ti with 4 gigs.  I am using several benchmarking utilities - Userbenchmark, Nova Benchmark, and Heaven Benchmark to be specific. I am comparing this new machine to my 1.5 year old Asus ROG g750js running a slightly slower CPU, same RAM, and  GTX 970m.

 

The first two benchmark programs show that the OMEN scores higher or similar for CPU, RAM, and disk speeds as it should. However, niether benchmark utility is picking up the GTX 1050ti so both are showing terrible GPU performance - consistent with what one would expect if they were just measuring the integrated Intel graphics 630 chip. In fact, Userbenchmark says, during operation, "skipping gtx 1050ti - cannot find attached display" which I find very weird.

 

Also of note is that when running the Heaven Benchmark 3D testing, it DOES say "using GTX 1050ti" and the FPS for the Omen are decent (29-45) but significantly lower than those on the simultaneously running Asus (55-90) with identical Heaven test settings. So I have two benchmarks that can't test the GTX 1050ti and one that shows it running slower than a GTX 970M which it should not be.

Hello,

 

I have an HP Spectre X360 with a built in TrueVision FHD camera.

 

The colors are not rendered correctly on this webcam.  A green shirt looks purple / red

 

I can't seem to find any built in software that allows me to control the camera colors, brightness etc.

 

HP wants me to mail my computer somewhere for 9 days so that they can examine the problem. But I really can't  be without it for 9 days.

 

I downloaded a program called YouCam, but it was useless for this purpose.

 

How can I make adjustments to this camera??

Until recently the touchpad used to work with the HP / Synaptic driver. 2 or 3 finger function worked and turn on / off with the orange light worked. 

 

For whatever reason these functions don't work anymore and I don't find a driver on the HP Support site to download and install.

Hello, 

 

Wondering about connecting a HP Probook 6470b to a monitor:

 

ASUS VE278Q 27" Full HD 1920x1080 2ms DisplayPort HDMI DVI VGA 

 

According to the specs, the HP 6470b has a DisplayPort port.  I see what i think the port location is, but have never used it.  So just hoping someone can confirm this will work to connect this new monitor (before I buy it).  Any input is appreciated.

I just ordered and received what I thought would be the laptop of my daughter's dreams, with all the upgrades available. She is an artist, using many digital art programs.  I ordered the highest resolution 1920x1080, thinking it would be an asset for her, but it was a terrible mistake.

 

It has made things too small for her to use effectively, and we we go in and try to change the resolution on the unit using the tools available to reduce it to 1366x768,  things still do not look right because the system is optimized for 1920x1080. Things then look the correct size but are blurry to her, not as crisp.

 

Is there any way to get this corrected to reduce the system's optimized resolution to 1366x768 without returning it and ordering an entire new laptop?  This was a custom build, and HP charges a surcharge of 15% on returns for this purchase.

Hi there,

 

I've got a Pavilion 17-g050nl with AMD A10 CPU, AMD Radeon R7 M360 graphics card and Microsoft Windows 10 home premium 64 bit.

 

For personal reasons, I would like to change screen resolution to a mid level between 1600x900 (optimal resolution) and 1280x720, but when I click on advanced screen settings, in the resolution box there is only 1600x900, 1280x720, 1024x768 and 800x600. There aren't other resolution like 1440x900, 1366x768, 1360x768, 1280x800, 1280x768 that I see in other HP notebooks.

 

The operating system is updated, also the video driver is updated, is it normal for this notebook or there is a way to show other resolutions?

Hi, Can someone please tell me what HP stylus will work with my  HP Spectre x360 - 13-w014tu? I was told by the salesman that this came with one only to find that it didn't.

 I have a Dell active stylus but it wont work with this laptop.

Hi,

 

We have two HP PAVILION 15-AU027CL , both laptop having screen flickering issue in the bottam side.

 

It is not always, we reset the OS, installed new drivers and done bios update.

 

Same flickeering showing while connected to external display device.

 

Please help to rectify this issue

Hello,

I bought a HP Omen 15-ax208nl laptop on April 22nd, 2017.
When I reproduce dark videos or black pictures I can notice some bright areas (clouding/backlight bleed) in proximity of the lower part of the frame (see attached picture).
- Is it a common problem in these laptops?
- How can I solve the problem?

Hi,

 

I've got a problem with my HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-p271nd(ENERGY STAR). The display freezes regularly when I move or pick up the notebook or when I adjust the angle of the screen. When the display freezes, the notebook won't respond to anything anymore and then I need to completely restart it. 

 

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Hi there, 

 

i have some problems mit Intel HD Graphics 3000 on HP 8460p. 

 

Since there is no driver available for Windows 10, i can not access Open GL 2.0, is there any fix for this?
