Randomly during use the screen will go black but my mouse and all the other lights remain on it can happen a few seconds after i load windows or a few hours. Any help appreciated, thanks

Useless Mouse Pad
I am astounded at how poorly the built-in mousepad on your Notebook laptop works for moving vertically on a webpage. It is regularly unresponsive after a few touches. I always have to use the sidebar to move up and down a page, and then the function becomes supersensitive and shoots back and forth wildly over the spot on the webpage I wish to look at. God forbid the cursor even at light speed should pass over a link on the page in which I am uninterested -- it immediately jumps to the linked page. In short, the mousepad is unresponsive in doing what I want, but probably just great for popup advertisers.
I fear that I am not describing my problem in ways, or using terminology, that snotty support techs will acknowledge they understand, as I have a job of my own and completely disdain computer argot. (Then again, you guys would probably be losers at my job.) But humor me anyway. Is there a way I can fiddle with the pad to make it function the way I want it to? Or are you just selling a rotten computer?

Black screen appears after windows logo. Several factory settings attempted. Problem still persists.
Hi All,
I kept having the same problem with my laptop. Its nearly 6 years since I've been using it and this is the first time I had a major issue with it.
It started with some small like green colored objects alienating my screen. After awhile the screen turned to black and an error message showed up. (pictures attached).
Then the laptop will automatically restart. When it does, it will get passed the windows logo and the screen will turn black however you can hear the welcome sound despite the black screen.
I tried all the remedies I've seen in your support videos. I also restored the laptop to its out of state box several times already which I'm not sure is healthy although it does fix the error. But after quite some time, probably just 3 days max or oftentimes just a few hours later the same green objects will appear in my screen and the same problem will occur.
I'm just baffled because everything seems to be working perfectly with the laptop since I can still access it but only on a safe mode (I'm actually posting this on a safe mode with networking option).
I refuse to send it to a technician and I really want to fix the issue on my own. Unfortunately, I can't really tell what's causing the problem.
I would be extremely grateful to all of your input on fixing this error.

My Notebook will power on , but will but will not display anything on the screen. The wlan and power lights will be on, the heatsink will be on, the system will be running but nothing will be displayed on the screen. I have tried interchanging the rams at the two different slots, tried removing the wlan and put it back, tried removing the cmos battery and putting it back. Still nothing changed

HP 6710b touchpad doesnot work
Hello,
I am a laptop repairing technician.
Recently one brought me a laptop having an issue with cooling fan and optical. I fixed all and when finished and testing, found the touch pad doesnot work.
I put my best struggle to fix the problem with all possible solutions. Still the problem exists. Customer says it was working fine before me.
The same thing happened few months ago for another HP laptop.
Can you please help me with an idea to fix this.

Issue not resolved concerning Spectre x360
I am still not confident that the Spectre x360 will output 4k on an external screen. I would think there would have to be an option for higher resolution when going to the settings menu on the machine. It would be great if someone that has the Spectre could let me know if there is any option for higher resolution in settings for an external monitor.
I am debating how necessary 4k is for my needs and if it would be worth the extra cost and potential problems. I say problems becuase I saw where Bestbuy offers a 13'' spectre with a 4k screen and yet there is no mention of a 4k screen option on HPs website. Is the 4k version discontinued due to technical issues?
I have noticed even 1900x1080 content seems to look better on my Samsung 4k tv. I have a camera that has 4k movie capability and this is the only reason I want a 4k screen even though I rarely use this option. I am thinking I can still edit 4k media even though it will not display in 4k. I could copy it to a dvd to display on tv. I really like the specs of the x360 and am hoping there is a practical work around to display the little 4k content I may use.

2013 Ultraslim docking station - won't connect to monitors
Hi all - I could use some help. I have my Elitebook 1040 in the 2013 Ultraslim docking station with two LG monitors connected through the Display ports. It's worked great for the past 2 months.
All of the sudden, my screen was going black and then after 3 seconds would turn back on (this happened on both LG monitors).
After reading other threads, I went an installed the latest version of software for the docking station as that seemed to be the issue. Well now neither monitor works when I re-dock the computer.
Out of the dock, if I connect one, no problem.
Any recommendations on how I fix the doc?

Dear all,
Please advise during start up the screen flash 2 times (like GPU is not working properly) and after thatlaptop works fine. Is that normal? I tried to run FurMArk temp does not go over 69deg C. The laptop is brand new.

Cracked screen
Hello,
My HP Pavilion X2 Detachable laptop has a crack down the middle of the screen and the screen will not work anymore,
It has these glitches where when I'm doing something it'll just randomly starting doing these white dots & when they happen I cant do anything.

Is HP Active pen work on HP Pavilion x360?
I am just wondering is HP Active pen work on HP Pavilion x360 model 15-bk193ms? I read it on the microsoft store review it say is not working with the active pen, but on the hp support website, it said that Pavilion x360 15-bk1xx can use HP Active Pen (Synaptics). Is this ture ?

Spectre x360 replacement stylus tip
Hi! I have the new HP Spectre x360 AC-series that comes bundled with a pen.
I've been using it for about a month and I've been satisifed with the pen performance, but I JUST NOW realized that the pen tip is REPLACEABLE! That's a "wow" moment to me; I never knew the tip could be removed. One minor thing I noticed when I first got the pen was that the stylus tip is hard plastic, which doesn't give a ton of friction with the screen. It's not a dealbreaker, but I owned a Surface Pro 4 in the past and I really dig the additional friction of the Surface Pen to the screen with its soft nib.
I don't think shelling out $50 for the Surface Pen was worth it though, but instead, are there replacement tips available for the bundled Spectre x360 pen? Or, can someone tell me if the $10 pack of Surface Pen replacement tips is compatible with the Spectre pen? Thanks a lot!

broken touchscreen model 15-p158sa
I have had laptop a couple of years but very rarely used it as use main computer.
A few days ago I opened my laptop and as i opened it the screen smashed/cracked! It hasnt been dropped and has only been used a handful of times.
I have had quotes to replace screen which are approximately £250 which is nearly as much as a new laptop.
My question is should a laptop screen just crack by opening the lid? Its always been looked after and i am the only one that uses it. Ive always bought HP computers/laptops as personally find them the best but now im not so sure.
