Hi there,

Just bought an x360 spectre and am using it with a Dell 24" monitor. 

The monitor is connected by HDMI.

I want to be able to use the Dell monitor as my only display, from time to time, but use the laptop as a keyboard.  This is easiest when I turn the screen around at the hinge, like I'm using the laptop as a tablet, and place the screen on a soft surface (I'm currently using the soft case) and type with the keyboard face-up.  However, when I do this, the keyboard is disabled entirely.   When I hinge it back into a laptop, everything works fine.

So in short, I just want to use the keyboard when the screen is hinged back.

Any ideas on this specific issue?  I've tried all the basic troubleshooting.

Hi,

 

I tried to play Red Alert with some friends but I keep getting the notification that I don't have OPengl support> And that I need to update my drivers. I tried doing this with the download from the amd site but this resulted in the graphics card not functioning anymore. Which drivers do I need to download to fix this?

 

I have a Radeon (TM) HD 6770M, with 8.830.6.1000 currently. Is Mobile Intel(R) HD Graphics the same one because that's listed aswell?

Ok, I recieved this Pavilion x360 convertible a little while ago for multi purpose use. I usually use my finger for the touchscreen applications but decided today to use a stylus. However, the stylus I was trying to use, although being a passive stylus, refused to work with the screen. I have tried many types of passive styluses but still no luck with getting it to work. Any advice or help?

Hi, my laptop is a Pavilion 17-049wm.  It used to have windows 8 but I changed it to windows 7 when I first got it. 

 

The computer worked great until the warranty went out and it started acting up. 

 

The symptoms are, when the computer is put into sleep or shut all the way down, the monitor sometimes stays black even though the computer boots up fully. It used to be a lot worse but a little tweaking has made it blackscreen only 25% of the time.

 

What I have noticed.  If I go into sleep, the screen always stays off. If turn the computer on with only battery power it usually wont start the screen.  (NO bios display or anything but still boots)  When the computer is plugged in the screen normally works. (About 80% of the time.)  These symptoms are actually an improvement over what it used to do.  I flashed the bios and it caused the screen to come on sometimes.  Before it would never come on under any condition and I had to use a secondary monitor.

 

Things that I have tried that make no difference: swapping the ram in every combination possible including single sticks.  Taking the battery out and holding the power button for a minute.  

 

Someone told me to take the battery out and leave it on ac power for about an hour.  The screen booted but I just chalk that up to it working better plugged in.  When I booted on battery it went back to black screening.  

 

 

Any suggestions?

I bought a Spectre x360 13-4112tu less than a week ago and followed all instructions for updating Windows 10 and drivers. After a few days the touchscreen began to flicker and perform multiple actions as though someone is repeatedly and rapidly touching the screen in the same place. Whilst this is happening the laptop is largely non-responsive to any other touchscreen, mouse or keyboard command. Putting the laptop to sleep temporarily resolves the problem but it recurs within a hour or so of waking. The HP tool shows all drivers and updates have been applied.

 

Is this a software or hardware issue?

Hi guys,

Just got myself a brand new HP OMEN 15 with 6700k, GTX965M, 250GB SSD, 1TB HD, 16GB DDR4 and the bloddy bad Full HD Screen.

I have some serious backlight bleed issues.

Have you ever seen anything like this on the OMEN series? Is this "normal" with all 1080p omen laptops?
Or would a RMA fix the issue?

I would have gotten the UHD edition, if I had the chance....

Last year I took this laptop to a shop to have the cooling fan replaced. Since then the backlit key board is only dim. I can manually turn it on and off, but I'm unable to bring it up to full brightness. Also, the auto off and on doesn't work.

I think the tech may have pinched a wire or left something loose. Of course he denies any responsibility. I have opened the back cover and  looked it over, but I don't see anything obvious.

Hello!

 

Today I bought a new ultrabook - hp envy 13 d150nw. I've got to say that everything is cool but keyboard lighting is not working.

I tried fn+f5 (none of these function keys - from f1 to f12 - are working...), I was looking for some drivers on hp website but there are only some for touchpad, wifi button and fingerprints something. Could you tell me what should I do to turn on these lights?

I just bought this laptop and the keyboard backlight button (F5) will not turn on the light I have tired (Fn & F5) but nothing like that either also I have tired (Alt+Fn+F5) and still nothing all other F(number) buttons work but not F5.......help?

Hello,

I just got this HP Elitebook 1040 G3 laptop. I have it set up at home connecting two external monitors. One is connected via HDMI, and the second one via the VGA adaptor (see picture). I can see images on both monitors, and even enable the laptop screen as the third screen as well. However, the monitor connected with HDMI turns blank intermittently and seamingly randomly as well. The screen goes blank for about 2 -3 seconds and then comes back to life. I have tried swapping the cable and the monitor to see if there is problem with the monitor or the cable.  I came to the conclusion that the problem is not with the cable nor the monitor. Whichever monitor is connected via HDMI cable to the laptop is the one experiencing the problem. The other monitor connecting via VGA does not have such intermittent blank screen issue. Finally, I tried using only one HDMI connected monitor without the VGA monitor. Without the VGA monitor, the sole HDMI monitor stays on and intermittment blanking did not occure.

 

Does anyone know how to fix this intermiteent blank screen problem? I have already tried updating to the latest Intel display drivers and the problem persists. I really would like to use dual external monitor without adding additional adatptor or hardware.

Windows 7 64 Bit professional

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6600U CPU @ 2.60GHz, 2701 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)

I've just went from an HP Envy with Windows 7 pro to an HP Omen with Win10 pro.

 

My complaint is the display. It's very hard on the eyes. I'm not sure if it's the brightness (which is at it's highest) and doesn't seem bright enough or the website's colors. I've updated all display drivers/adapters to no avail. How can I fix this?

 

I am ready to return this darn computer I wanted so much.  

 

I can provide screen shots from both computers if needed.

Hi! 

Since I formated my laptop, the touchscreen is not working and when I look for solutions on internet, I can't do them because i can't even see the options. (i already tried the option "activate")

Usually i used to see the icon to work with the touchscreen. does anyone know how to make it appear again please?

Hi. My laptop is running games with the intel GPU instead NVIDIA's one.

I've tried everything.

1-Drivers were updated directly from nvidia with the hardware detection option (I tried manual method before with the same results)

2- Device Manager shows the Nvidia card and drivers working without any issues.

3-I've tried the games with all settings in default with the Nvidia Control Panel, and also forcing all settings to use just the Nvidia card achieving same results.

4-All windows updates are installed and all drivers are working propertly.
