Not part of this group, I know, but where exactly does HP allow customers to make a complaint?
After may attempts, I had to get another person to identify the 'Captcha' sign on. If I can't read ot then there is something wrong. The forum should cater for those with sight disabilities.
I know I should have contactde HP earlier, but I honestly thought my works PC was alow spec. and not working correctly. Now I don't have any support, can someone else help me?
The specification for my laptop is a screen resoltion of 1920x1080. When used withou an extrenal screen connceted it won't aloow me tyo select any other resolution than 1280x720. However, when I connect another display using the HDMI or vidoe connector in dual display mode, the laptop adopts the same display resolution as the external screen eg 1920x1080, so I know it is capable of displaying this resolution, but not on its own. I would like some assistance in how I can get the laptop to display 1920x1080 when used on its own.
Also, I have noticed a bug with the display. If I use the video port through a device that converts to vga and I shoutdown the laptop before disconnceting, then the next time I start the laptop the screen is blank. I have to connect to another display using the video port to get the laptop screen back on then make sure I pull the lead out before shutting down my laptop.
Will I need to purchase another laptop as this one has never worked or is there a fix?

My screen is slowly dissapearing from the top, down.
I have a HP Pavilion Notebook - 17-g187cy touch screen runnin windows 10 (64 bit) and I've had it for a little less than a year. Lately, I've noticed that while charging the videos that I'm watching (youtube, facebook, movies, etc.) turn black and white. It doesn't happen all the time, but it's starting to happen more frequently than not and it's a little annoying. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the graphics and nada. Anyone else have any idea why this is happening and how I can fix this? Thanks, in advance.

i just bought a HP Pavilion dv7-4177nr Entertainment Notebook PC ... it was reformatted and the latest window 10 was installed ... for some reason when the computer starts i keep getting a error 43 .. that my amd driver is not working properly. i contact microsoft and they tried to remotely fix the problem with no luck... they tried to install the driver from this site for it but the problem is still there .. please help as i only bought this to be able to play wow and so far all i have been able to do is download it

I would like to disable tap to click on the touchpad. I always use the click on the bottom of the touchpad and the tap to click just leads to a bunch of misclicks.
In the toucpad settings I can find options to disable 2-finger tap to click, 3-finger, or 4-finger, but none of these affect 1-finger tap to click, which I cannot find an option for.

I recently purchased the Microsoft LifeCam HD-3000 but there is lag on the 1280x720 resolution setting.
I have done a disc cleanup. Should I defrag? What else can I do to optimize the performance?
Or is the issue that the webcam is not compatible with the PC?
I have done so much troubleshooting on this, I'm afraid it's come down to the fact that the webcams have not been compatible.
I have a creative video project I want to work on and it's been taking me months to get this all tied up!

I have a G42 Notebook laptop that does not have the best screen i can hardly make out what's on a webpage.
I increased the screen size to 125% & that helped & the briteness was lowered a bit, but I still have trouble seeing websites.
I tried changing the fonts in control panel to Arial Bold font but the install button is not on & working.
How do i fix this & install the fone.
What do I need to check to determine which stylus is compatible with my Pavillion x360 11t touch laptop? Can I use any stylus that isn't metallic (i.e. - with a rubber tip)? Is there a special feature I need for it to work properly?

I have an HP envy laptop with an intel core i7-6500u processor. When i look at my system specs it says I have 8.61 out of 12 GB of available physical memory and 10.3 out of 13.7 gb of virtual memory available. When I run my graphics advanced setting and look at the dedicated video memory it only shows 128mb regardless of all the extra space. I treid going into my BIOS which is Insyde F.1A and did not have an advanced option to change my memory configurations. Is there any other way to change the dedicated video since i want to change it to 728 mb to be able to play overwatch. If there is no way to change it from BIOS or windows is it possible to install a diffrent graphics card that would work or would it be a better idea to buy a new laptop? Any help is apretiated, thank you.
So i got this new HP spectre i7 that I am very glad for, but for some reason, I cannot scroll with the touchpad. It has worked a couple of times, but for the most part, the mouse just moves without the page scrolling. I have tried to update the touchpad driver, but was the system said that I already had the newest available. It is quite an annoyance since I have to use the scroll bar constantly instead of scrolling swiftly with the touchpad.
Apparently, I am not able to play music or videos on whatever platform whether be with the music or video player, spotify, youtube, etc. Why is this happening and how I fix this situation?
I have had my Pavillion serial No. F1D70EA#ABU for just under a month. On at least three occassions whilst using it the screen has just gone blank and I can't get it back on again unless I fold the laptop down, open it and hit the power button again. It does this whilst on mains power - not sure about on battery power.
Have I got a faulty Laptop?
Problem being I am on holiday until mid January 2017 so can't even get it looked at and my 30 day exchange warranty will have expired by then.

I recently purchased this awesome notebook (that one with 256gb ssd and 1tb hdd), which I find almost perfect.
There is one flaw thats driving me crazy:
Everytime I need to fiddle through text, the cursor jumps back to its origin position (while moving like 1-2mm at the time).
It's not that erratic behaviour while typing.
This problem just happens, when my movement is really little, but often. Like when I need to point the cursor one letter left or right. Normally I expect (from my 10 year experience with souch touchpads), that the cursor stays where I have left it right away, not where I left him 1 second before.
It's so annoying, because it's happening again and again and again and again.
I tried to look this behavior up in the forums/internet, but all I can find is that erratic behavior problem while typing. And to be clear: I don't have this problem.
The touchpad driver settings don't help me either. I hoped this is working as intended and could be turned off there. But I could't find an option which describes that behaviour.
