Hi all,

I have a Probook HP4730s and I have just upgraded to windows 10.

 

I have installed a SSD

 

When on windows 7 it was lightning fast.

 

When I updated to windows 10, it has shown a problem that I am lead to belive is a graphics driver issue.

 

I start the laptop and it does the POST, then windows logo and the whirlygig thing, the the screen goes black, then a few seconds later I see that the backight turns. It is like that for about 60 - 90 seconds than you see the windows logo again and starts up.

 

I have updated the bios - no change

I have plugged in an external monitor there is nothing on the external monitor.

I have done a fresh install of windows 10 and when it has the windows graphics driver it seems to work fine, as soon as it updates to the intel driver it has this problem.

I have done a fresh install of windows 7 and updated to 10, same thing.

 

Looking on line there are no windows 10 drivers for the intel graphic chipset. I am sure I will not be the only one with this issue.

I am happy using windows 7 but it is nice having windows not nagging you to update.

 

Any other help would be appriciated.

 

It is only a 4 year old laptop so not worth dumping.

 

Once it has started up it is fine.

Ok So i installed my new graphics card but on  when i hit the power button i hear 3 spread out beeps and then my screen shows a black screen with  a blinking underscore my  grpahics card i had was a gt 620 but my new one is the gtx 750 ti ftw edition by evga please help i would like to use my new graphics card but also  when i  put the old graphics card in it boots up fine

I shut down the computer last night and when I tried turning it on this morning the screen stayed black. No matter what I do, trying to restart, pressing F2 repeatedly etc., it just doesn´t do much but change the on button light from on to not on... The notebook is just 2 weeks old! So far it´s been fine, the only issue I found was with the battery time when it´s in sleep mode - it seems to drain that quickly. I let it charge for a few hours and tried again - no change. Should I return it to the store? If so, how can I wipe my information from it? Thanks!

Hi team,

 

I bought HP pavilion ab125ax on 6 july and from starting i was getting error saying display driver has stop responding and laptop was heating like anything. on 10 JULY I have raised issue with [personal information removed]. same issue I told to HP support also but every time they told me to update the driver and BIOS. which i have done.

i have refactor the laptop.Update BIOS

i have update the Latest driver

i have update the Driver provided by AMD support also.

But still laptop has same problem.

and HP support team told me that they are going to send the engineer and after that they will replace the product. but not engineer visited my place.

 

on 21 july i ask them to replace the laptop then they said 14 days already over now they will not replace it.

 

Now You tell me from 10 july no engineer visited till now and they are saying replacement is not possible because 14 days over. Is this my problem that you people not sending the engineer to check the problem?

 

Now I don’t know what to do with this laptop.

May be I will prepare one video to show the HP laptop/HP support issues and upload it in internet so that every one will see the HP face.

I have accidently imported my photos from my phone to the hp photo section on my notebook. I didn't want them to be on the computer but i wanted them on my external harddrive. I have been into the folder and highlighted all photos, copied them but when i try to paste them it wont allow me to paste them anywhere but in the photo's gallery where they already are. Any ideas how to remove them from the computer and put them onto my external hardrive?

Keep getting a message that I need an AMD Driver.

I am using an AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000 Series driver on my Pavilion dv6 computer.      I switched from Windows 7 to Windows 10 recently, and ever since I have been getting the message "No AMD Driver installed"        I believe the one I have is out of date.      Can anyone tell me which AMD Driver will be compatible to replace it?         I am having problems with the computer and I believe the missing driver may be the cause of it.

Every so often I would get the message "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" for quite a while but was never able to fix the problem. Then I started to get the blue screen of death which said something about a memory dump. Usually I would hold down the power button and restart it.

 

 Then while in regular windows mode the screen got all staticy, upon restarting I got the windows logo, then I'd see a black screen with static in it and it never fully started. I can go into safe mode with no problems, graphics or otherwise.

 

Going into Device Manager I deleted the Radeon Graphics driver, then restarted, and I could get started until Windows loaded another driver and the screen would go blank again. Nothing found online so far has fixed the problem.

 

  I then went into Recovery and went back to factory settings. Which worked for a few hours, everything worked fine. Then I started to get the static again, to the point I'm right back to where I started.

 

Can anyone tell me exactly what the problem is? Hardware or Driver?  Why did it work temporarily? Is it possible to totally disable the Radeon driver for good, where it doesn't reload when restarted? Is there a way to use the other driver instead (the Intel driver)?

 

Since it's not under warranty anymore, if I brought it to a technician is there something they can do?

I have a problem with the driversfor thevideo card.NewWindows8.1,all updates.

Almost all the time the problem- "the display driverstopped responding."  Sometimes, the computer freezes.

Sometimes BSODand error -video_scheduler_internal_error.

But these drivers are only worse. The computerworks beston the controllerwithwindows - 8.982.10.6000 - 2012-09-18.
At thiscontrollererrorsare quite rare, but they are.

How to fixdriver issues?

For some reason my monitor has decided that you can only view it when a second monitor is hooked up.

 

When I turn on my laptop the hp logo loads then it will go to a black screen.  If I plug in a hdmi or vga monitor the display on my laptop starts to work.

My keayboard and mouse pad stoopped working suddenly. My computer has touchscreen so i have been able to use the onscreen keyboard and also have an external mouse but the physical keyboard and mousepas are not responding.  i noticed that the led on the caps key turns on when i activate from the onscreen keyboard.  HELP!

PLEASE HELP... i intalled windows 8.1 64 bit on my hp compaq 6910p sadly, i began to have bad graphic with games lags, so i installed ati mobility radeon x2300 driver mannually of win7 64 bit , since of the windows 8.1 is not available for my hp compaq 6910p. she worked fine once but now she is having the black/blue screen issues, especially when i play videos.

so i disabled the  radeon x2300 driver now she is fine, BUT the resolution became ugly again and the games perfomance is gone.. please! help i real need the dispay driver that could work fine of a way to fix the present issue.

When the computer is off - and I split the tablet from the keyboard - I then start the tablet up - everything boots fine.  When I open up a browser (either firefox or edge) and  I  touch the address bar of the browser to put the cursor there and then touch the icon to bring up the onscreen keyboard - I try to type in an address but the keyboard switches every 3 or 4 seconds between 2 different kinds - one with a .com (and a .ca also- I'm in canada) near the spacebar and one without it - I cannot get in more than 2 or 3 characters before the browser highlights the address bar - and I can't enter any more characters unless I delete them and type real fast.

 

I'm sure it is some sort of windows 10 issue with the on screen keyboard being used with a browser (problem only happens when I use a browser - either of the above).

 

I can get around this by opening google and typing my address in the googles search window in the main body of the screen - but no other way.

 

I have updated windows and all the hp drivers - am at a loss - did an internet search and nowhere could I see that peoples on screen keyboard has the .com button next to the spacebar.

 

This issue does not happen if I start the unit up with the keyboard & screen attached - then detach it and work with it as a tablet.

 

I have also tried various windows settings as touch friendly tablet mode - with no luck.

 

I should mention one other anomily that may be related - sometimes when I'm trying to use the find function and typing with the os keyboard I can only type a few characters before the keyboard disappears - again I'm at a loss.

Hi folks,

I have a first gen spectre, core i7.  I am a home inspector and would like to use it in tablet mode, moving from room to room.  Would like to disable the display to conserve power, but only have it come back on with a button push.  Need to carry it, and when I inadvertantly touch the screen, it comes back on...Any suggestions?  Have tried assigning hibernate to the power switch, but the whole thing powers down.  When I restart, the programs are still there and running, so I'm guessing this is normal?  Is there a way to not have to shut it down but have the display shut off and only restart by a button?

 hi, i have the same problem in my laptop, before i update to windows 10 my touchscreen response correctly..when i try to update my touchscreen not response.. i did everything accordingly update drivers, windows update but no luck..i tried recovery but still the same..Please help me..thanks and advance.

Another cracked screen.

My daughters computer is 7 months old. She was flying back from holiday and the computer was in a padded computer case inside a backpack. On opening the computer after the flight there was a crack on the LHS of the screen which then spread diagonally right, across the screen. The computer was fine before the flight and was not dropped or mis-used. Waiting to hear back from customer service but not hopefull as the standard line is that it is the users fault. What happens if I have it repaired and it cracks again?

I smiply shut down the system for the night. took off the power cord.

 

Next day the screen would not come on...

I have bought this pavilion laptop a few days back with free DOS. I installed ubuntu 14.04. When I play video, it shows the actual video in a small space in the middle and rest of the screen is blue. It is not player issue. The actual video that is shown is kind of overlay I guess because while playing video, if I open other window, the video part  is shown on that screen also and everything goes behind it.  

 

And also if I take the screen shot while the video is playing the screen shot does not contain the video frame that is playing. The entire screen in the screen shot is blue screen

 

Any help is appreciated.
