There are multiple posts in forums for other dv7 variants, so I am starting on here on mine in case someone has solved the puzzle. When upgrading to Windows 10, my slick graphics section flew right out
of the vent slots. My ENTERTAINMENT, wide screen, dual graphics, very expensive laptop was unable to upgrade to the newest operating system. The blame starts and ends with HP. This leader in the industry failed to support a 5 years old product by not "testing" (their words) it for Windows 10. AMD is sidestepping this issue by refusing to write drivers for mobility HD 4200 series and mobility HD 5000 series integrated graphics cards. Desktop video cards are CONSTANTLY upgraded. Microsoft has not gotten involved as they have a lot on their plate, and can't allocate resources for one manufacturer and one graphics problem. So, we are back to HP, whose official position so far is their products aren't worth supporting. No further drivers will be forthcoming, buy a newer computer. I searched long and hard to find a machine that suited my needs, and I don't want a different machine, I want HP to man up and support their customers and products. Nobody that has posted in any of the many forums would EVER buy another HP product. Bad move for them, but on to my question. Has anyone found a way to utilize our laptops with Windows 10 and have the graphics section work?
