Touchpad and mouse buttons not working
After having to re-install Windows 7 on my laptop I've found that the trackpad and associated mouse buttons are no longer working.
The keyboard works fine.
The touch screen works fine.
When I inserted an external mouse, it automatically installed the driver and worked without issue.
I installed the Synaptics TouchPad Driverbut that didn't make any difference.
I also tried removing the battery, holding the power button for 30 seconds, re-instering the power cable (but not the battery) and booting up the latop.
It was working fine before the re-install so I can ssume i's not a hardware fault and if the keyboard works the interface cable is also working...
Just wondering if anyone has had the same issue and can suggest anything?
Having trouble with Displaying Protected Video Content on attached Display
System setup as follows ...
- HP Zbook 17G2 (764091R-999), Windows 10, NVidia Quadro K5100M (Driver Version 361.80)
- Advanced Docking Station (NZ223AA#ABA)
- HP Z34c Curved Display (attached to Docking Station with DVI Cable)
The issue that I am having is as follows ...
- With the HPBook17G2 in the dock, PC Screen Closed - when playing digital content using Netflix or Hulu I can hear the video playing but cannot see the video on the HPZ34c widescreen display
- With the HPBook17G2 in the dock PC Screen Open - when playing the same digital content, I can hear video playing, but can only see the video when the Hulu/Netflix is on the PC Screen not the HPZ34c widescreen display. If I span the Netflix Hulu Window across the two screens (PC and HPZ34c) the video is displayed on the PC Screen Only.
- Video content from YouTube plays just fine on all displays.
I have completed the following troubleshooting Steps:
- Updated Windows 10 PC Drivers
- Updated NVidia Quadro K5100M Drivers
- Connected directly to the DVI port on the side of the PC, with the PC undocked.
- Used different DVI/DVI Cable
- Tried DVI (PC) /HDMI (HP Z34c Display) Cable
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Red Display - HP Compaq nc6400 - Windows 10 and Linux
Hi,
My old nc6400 running Windows 10 is displaying a red screen while booting, but starts normally (maintaing the red color). Blue and light colors seem to be fine, but the rest of the colors are a mess. The quality of the display is also very poor. I did several things to see if I could solve the problem. I did a Windows 10 repair, which uninstalled all my applications and there was no change. I uninstall the video driver (Intel 945gm) and reinstall it and no change. After that I used a knoppix boot cd and the problem is there also... not in red, but the display quality is very poor. One of the things that is also happening is the fan speeding continuosly.
Can I assume that if the problem exists with W10 and Linux that the video card is mal-functioning (hw problem)? Please, if you have any sugestion it would be helpful. I would like to keep this notebook.
Thanks.

Intel HD graphics 3000
Hello People!
I'm trying to fix a major problem but after many hours of sitting in front of my laptop screen, I still can't find a solution.
My laptop is a HP EliteBook 8460p (refurbished)
Cpu: Intel Core i7-2620M vPro
Ram: Corsair VALUESELECT SO-DIMM DDR3 16gb PC3-10700 Dual Channel Kit
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 3000 ???
OS: Windows 7 Pro x64
Everything was so fine without any problem until I decided to upgrade ram. There were 4gb of DDR3 pre-installed memory. Then I replaced them with 16gb as you can see above. In order to use new memory I should re-install windows
because the pre-installed OS couldn't boot into windows environment. I re-installed windows 7 pro x64 and then everything seemed to be right. However everything changed when I had to install graphics drivers. I tried every method and every site (hp, intel, windows) and most of graphic drivers versions. The problem is that most times windows crash and reboot just after welcome screen (sometimes before it) of some seconds later. Without graphics driver, using Standard vga adapter everything goes fine but the screen quality is too low and I can't use applications that use graphic hardware accelaration. I don't remember if specs of my refurbished EliteBook included extra discrete graphics card like other EliteBook products. Besides device manager doesn't detect something like this. Unfortunately I hadn't noticed driver details of the pre-installed OS. I need my EliteBook at my job, so I need to find a solution.
HP Pavilion 15-p228na

HDMI laptop to TV not working
I have a Vizio monitor that I was able to connect to my laptop via HDMI cable last month. I did this on a number of occasions with no issues, but less than a month later I tried to do it again and it doesn't work. The monitor says there is no signal, whereas before it was a direct connection. I don't know what happened. Help.
