HP Envy m7 HDMI port not working

$

I recently bought an HP Envy m7, and I setup an external monitor. I recently had a BIOS update, which I think broke the HDMI port. I connected the port to a projecter, and it still does not get any input through the HDMI. I've tried multiple cables, and none of them work. My monitor I'm using is an LG IPS Flatron monitor. When I plug in the HDMI, it tells me it's not receiving anything to diplay. I've used Windows Key + P to switch it to extend mode, but it doesn't work.

Video driver problem

Hi,

I recently experienced a certain difficulty with my Probook 4545s.  BSOD appears while playing Total War Rome: II Emperor Edition. Code 0x00000116 and it refers to problems with sgfxk64.sys file.

I supposed the problem is with the video driver and tried to update it with the help of HP Support Assistant. The update failed. I restored the system to the previous state. Then tried deleting the driver in safe mode and installing it manually from the downloaded file from HP website. However, I am not sure which driver I need to use.

First of all, only the versions for Windows 7 Professional 64-bit are available, while I usethe Ultimate one. Secondly, there are two possible downloads of AMD Video Drivers and Control Panel - 224.4 Mb and 306.7 Mb. Should I install both of them or just the one that has a bigger size?

why does my samsung s24e510c curve monitor no longer work with my HP Envy?

Why does my Samsung s24e510c Curve monitor no longer work with my HP Envy?  It has worked fine for about four months, then today I had some updates from HP Assist and now it does not work.  I have tried a different HDMI lead and have downloaded the monitor's drivers, uninstalled them and re-installed them and it still does not work.

Windows shows 1920x1080 but It's really 1280x720

Graphics card Intel HD 520, latest drivers.

Display Settings and Intel Graphics Settings both show 1920x1080 but http://www.whatismyscreenresolution.com/ shows 1280x720

I tried uninstalling the driver, reinstalling it, rebooting in between. I attempted switching resolutions back and forth, but I am still stuck with 720 resolution, while for some odd reason Windows thinks I am on 1080.

Any ideas?

How to disable the touchpad on an HP 550 laptop?

$

I have an HP 550 with Win XP SP3. I need to disable the touchpad on it.

I've tried double clicking on the top left hand corner of the pad, pressing the left hand corner for several seconds and Settings -> Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager -> Mice and other pointing devices. I have no touchpad showing anywhere under any of the logical (or even illogical device management categories, including Mice, Human Interface Devices, System Devices, Keyboards or even USB devices and Computer. Nothing, zero, zip. I've tried disabling the mouse via Device Manager per some instructions and then had to use the touchpad to renable the USB mouse. I have the updated HP drivers for this machine installed. I really need to get this disabled, because I'm only using a mouse and the touchpad is actually a serious liability.

I've also Googled until I'm blue in the face and searched the HP forums extensively.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can't update my display drivers

Hi there,

I've been trying unsuccessfuly to update my display drivers. I've gone to the hp drivers specifically for my laptop and downloaded the recommended drivers for it ( published may 2016) but when I try to install them I get an error message saying my computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements for this software.  I've tried letting HP Assist do it for me and I've tried doing it manually with the same result.

I can't download direct from Intel either because it detects that the drivers already in use are not generic ones and directs me to the HP site to get the tailored ones.

It is creating all sorts of problems because I can't get games like Pro Evo Soccer 2016 to run properly because it doesn't recognize my graphics properly.

My nice new powerful laptop is being hampered because of this iris chip and the inability to update the drivers to the current ones being supplied by Intel.  I wish I had noticed that the graphic chip wasn't nVidia or AMD, I'd have avoided it like the plague.

Hope someone can help me.

black screen

On start up, my laptop starts without any issues. But after a while, the monitor turns black.  If you shine a light on the monitor you'd see your work on it sans backlight.  I'd turn to an external monitor to continue with my work.  And after a while the monitor lights up again!  On other times, on startup you'd feel the fans turning and the idiot lights on the keyboard are on and the screen is black.  I'd connect an external monitor to get on with my work and after an hour or so, the laptop monitor would light up.  I'd disconnect the external monitor and I'd go on with my work and finish it without any issues.

My laptop is a HP G62 with an OS upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7.  I had this issue when my OS was still Windows 7. I was hoping if I upgraded to Windows 10 the issue would be gone.

I have done a hard reset and it still persists.  I am more than a bit frustrated now especially, when the blackscreen occurs more frequently now.

Some have suggested the inverter of the monitor might be the problem but, that has been ruled out.  There have been suggestions for replacement, reballing, or reheating the graphics card but, I'm not inclined of doing that right now.  I still feel it's a software issue.

Any suggestions, please?

Thanks in advanced!

HP Truevision replaced - Camera Black Screen

The HP Truevision HD Camera appears to have been replaced by SPCA2082 Microsoft Camera. It is hidden and when I open it the msg says it is not connected.  I cannot figure out how they disconnected it.  When I open the Camera all I get is a black screen.  I have ensured the current drivers are installed.  The Privacy settings are all set to ON.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Camera twice to no avail.  I also ran the check for corrupted files and it said all were fine.  I also have the Cyberlink YouCam but it is sourced to the SPCA2082 so no image appears.  How can I get the HP Truevision Camera back? If that is not possible how do I get an image on the existing Camera please? Thank you for your time.
