The problem wirh my laptop is that sometimes i can work with it without it going into blacksceeen. I can sometimes work for hours without any trouble. Other times in the middle of my work it goes into blackscreen. I quickly attach an external monitor to conrinue w/my work and after half an hour or more the monitor on my laptoo turns on again. Sometimes the black screen goes on on start up. If you shine a light on the monitor while it is on black screen, you could see the display without its backlight. Tried the hard reset but it didn't work. What to do? They say there's somethin wrong w/the graphics card and needs to be reballed, reheated or replaced.

Hp spectre cracked screen
I have the same issue. Fine crack appeared in my screen which now increased. The laptop was never dropped and was in the neoprene sheath. I just called Hp service here in Singapore and they have stated it will cost approx. $1000 to fix it. They claim they can't just replace the glass even though the display works fine.
Obviously this is totally unacceptable and I have asked that this be escalated before I raise the matter with CASE. (Consumer affairs).
I expected better from HP.

SCREEN/DISPLAY SPEC FOR HP15-1053F
i received this laptop recently and when I bought it the person who had sold it to me told me that they were unable to get into it I ended up being able to reload the operating system and upgrade it to windows 8.1 however on the front of this machine there is a sticker which says, 'CAPACATIVE TOUCHSCREEN" HOW DO I FIND OUT IF "cAPACATIVE TOUCHSCREEN" MEANS THE LAPTOP HAS TOUCHSCREEN CAPABILITIES OR WHAT WOULD I HAVE TO DO IF I WANTED TO MAKE THIS A TOUCHSCREEN WHAT EQUIPTMENT DO I NEED? Grey screen instead of logon screen
We have a number of HP ProBook 430 G3's (30+) which are able to power on, pass the Windows 10 splash screen, but then have a grey screen where you would expect to see the typical log on screen.
We have found that clicking the mouse, pressing enter (to accept the user policy message) and inputting the password of the last user and again pressing enter, will load their profile - though the start menu doesn't work. From here, I can right click the Windows button and sign out, which returns me to the log on screen, but this time correctly. Logging in again without rebooting and everything seems to works fine.
So far, we have not detected any kind of pattern or repetition as to why this might be happening. Nor can we prevent it from happening in the future. Launching into Safe Mode and rebooting seems to get the machine back to normal for a while, as does removing the battery and holding the power button for 30 seconds, before trying to boot.
It has become a huge problem and we're clutching at straws to resolve.
Any help would be really appreciated.

windows10 on G62-b01sl, problem with graphic, driver HD5000/HD4200, circle become oval, 1024x768 max
i installed windows10 on my laptop G62-b01sl, all was good except the pictures, i think is a problem with graphic, driver HD5000/HD4200, when i draw a circle become oval, i tried to change resolution but i have only: 1024x768 max o lower 800x600 bad.
I looked for a new driver but all useless, the windows update does non fix this probem, i run update for 6 months.
I have to accept to see pictrue larger than normal, (circle become oval!) or the only solution is reinstall windows7?
(i changed with windows 10, only for still using my email hotmail, no longer supported without running w10.)

Automatic Brightness not turning off?
I recently reset my computer due to some issues, and prior to this I was somehow able to turn automatic brightness off.
Unfortunately, I am unable to now. I have gone to the power options and turned it off on every plan, but it still is not turning off. I need my screen at full brightness all the time because otherwise I feel my eyes squint and get very uncomfortable.
Any suggestions?

screen goes black when screen is pushed back
I just bought a new HP Envy 17.5 inch laptop. I have found that if the screen is pushed back more than about 95 degrees that the screen goes black. This is unacceptable as the screen needs to go back for easy viewing. Is there a config setting I can turn off this?

Pavilion notebook no longer recognizes external monitor
I have a brand new notebook. For the first week or so I had no problems with the external Dell monitor being recognized. Now the HP won't recognize the display. I have tried it with my old laptop and everything works fine. I had an issue last week with the speakers (on the laptop) not playing music. I'm beginning to wish I'd never bought this. Lots of aggravation for a lot of money. 
Has anyone else had a problem with the monitor suddenly not recognized? Thanks for any help.

2nd display Envy 15
Hey! I haven't been able to connect to a secondary display since upgrading to windows10. I have updated all drivers yet can't seem to find the problem. Also my brightness control doesn't work anymore(neither the physical button control nor the one on the taskbar). Here are my system's specs:

Screen
I bought extended warranty and said covers monitor but when I call to get it fixed saids it doesn't cover it. Why the heck would I buy extended for nothing. If it states monitor replacement then it should replace it. But accidentally it won't cover. Well the screen cracked and I own a store so looks like I'm going to sell and they won't refund my money. Warranty that cost 109 is worth 0

Connect Dell U2415 Monitor to Pavilion dv7
I recently purchased a Dell UltraSharp U2415 monitor to use with my HP Pavilion dv7. None of the cables that came with the monitor work with my dv7. The cable that came with the monitor is called a DP v1.2 Cable (DP = Display Port).
Is there a way to connect this monitor to my laptop?
Can an HDMI cable be used?
Is there anything like a DP to VGA conversion cable?

LED Monitor won't work, HDMI output does
Hello,
My monitor on my laptop will not display anything except when I turn it on where I have green lines down the right half of the screen but everything else is black. This last about 30 seconds and then my monitor remains black. I have attempted replacing the monitor however that one stays black and has no display either. Regardless of the screen I have attatched, I have no problems connecting it to my TV via HDMI and using it that way graphics wise. Upon closely inspecting the motherboard I have not seen any cracks or any other damage. Any insight on this problem would be very appreciated.

"Application has stopped responding and has recovered"
I've had this problem for the LONGEST time and I think it's time to end. I got this laptop for Christmas so I've dealt with it for a solid 6 months. So,whenever I'm playing a game sometimes it just says that message and one of 2 things happens
The game just crashes
or I have to wait a certain time for it to respond again
This is just really annoying and I've tried so,so,so many times to fix this looking up guides but it just won't be fixed
I have no idea what's happening and this is my last resort
