My computer is 2 years old, was running Windows 8.1, updated to Windows 10 last year and has been running well until last month when the screen started going crazy (flashing lights, apps starting by themselves, cursor frozen) after a couple of hours of playing radio or my music.  There is no way to control by cursor or touch screen, and the only thing to do is turn off the power button.

I finally reset to factory specifications and only loaded a couple of applications (antivirus, HideMyAss, my music files) and that worked for a while, but problem has restarted.

I raised the computer an inch in case overheating was a problem, although it doesn't seem to run hot.

Anybody have any ideas?

I purchased an hp 15 r033tx laptop with the following specs:

 

INTEL CORE I3 4005U@1.7 GHZ

4 GB RAM

500 GB HDD

DOS OS

2GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GT 820M GRAPHICS

 

I installed windows 7 64 bit and all the necessary drivers. But i realised that i can use the dedicated nvidia gpu only for certain programs and the WEI shows intel hd graphics family in the graphics section and 1696 MB total graphics memory in the gaming graphics section.Moreover the desktop always runs on intel graphics. the nvidia control panel also shows intel as the laptop graphics in set Physx configuration section.

 

I want to use only the nvidia gpu and completely disable intel graphics. battery usage is not a concern. i uninstalled intel graphics driver and also disabled intel graphics in device manager but nothing helped. Please respond to my problem.

Tried to install latest drivers from HP after performing clean install of windows 10 home, but it says an error amid installation "Your computer does not meet the minimum requirement for installing the software". Tried intel forums but the solution posted there was too complicated, I couldn't understand. I installed graphics driver from intel for time being. But they don't work properly, whenever I switch on my computer the brightness controls don't work, but will work again after a restart.

what really caused this,

still have one year warrenty left..

I'm trying to use an HP 3001pr USB 3 with my ZBook 17.  What it's doing is radomly acting like the monitor is no longer connected to the port replicator and then about a second or two later reconnects.  Everything could be fine for a few minutes and then it will constantly do this to the point that it's impossible to get any work done.  All other devices on the port replicator work and when I use a VGA I don't get any monitor connection issues.  This continues to happen when I swap in another 3001pr and it is also happening to other ZBook users in my organization on a wide range of monitors and I've tried the last Feburary update that was listed on the site.  Is this something with the display link tecnology and windows 10?

Hey guys, just last week I received my brand spanking new HP 250 G3 laptop in the mail and it was working very well, apart from the stupid Windows 8.1 updates. I wanted to upgrade to Windows 10 when I got the machine and the update was successful, however I noticed that my brightness keys were not functioning properly.

 

When my computer is on charge, there is a black screen on the login page. You can faintly see what is going on on the screen. Once I take the charger out, the screen returns back to normal. The brightness keys are reversed as when I want to increase the brightness, I have to press on the decrease button. Can someone please tell me what is going on as I do not expect this from a brand new computer!

 

I have tried disabling and reinstalling the graphics driver and when I try to install the graphics driver from the HP webite, it says that it is not compatible with my compter!

 

Also, when I try to contact HP and when the support page tells me to insert my password, it says that my warranty ran out in December 2015. I literally got the computer a couple of days before unboxed...

 

Please help me as soon as possible as there has been no constructive advice on the internet so far...

I've noticed when I unplug my laptop the screen goes really dim. Is there a way that the brightness will stay the same whether its plugged up or not?

Recently,  I have restored my pc. Then, suddenly, I was not able to adjust the screen brightness anymore. The f2 and f3 keys on the keyboard do not work. As you can see on the attached photo, I am not able to click the one for the adjustment of brightness because it seems blocked or I don't know. Please help me.

I recently had my laptop repaired  and was told I should quit using my Touch Pad as it was getting ready to "GO"  Has anyone else had problems with their touch pad dying?  I was also told this is a common problem with HP laptops.

 

I don't like using my mouse since I am usually sitting on my sofa while using my laptop.  Has anyone else had problems with their Touch Pad dying?

Just installed Windows 10 on my Pavilion g7 and my screen goes black, then refreshes about every 30-40 seconds.  This sometimes throws me out of whatever I am working on or interrupts my typing.  I've tried everything that Microsoft has suggested.  HP's site says there are no updates for my machine.  Does HP have a new display driver for the Windows 10.  Hard to find anything on HP site.  It jumps around in circles.

hii.. i bought this laptop last year and from some months there's this white vertical line occuring on right side of my laptop screen. its very disturbing. nothing made it go away. previously there was only one but now sumtimes there are 2. second white vertical lines occurs sometimes and than go away by itself. please help me to resolve this issue. it distracts alot.

I am having blackscreen error only in normal mode, when i start my windows 7 after windows logo i get black screen i hear windows opening sound but screen is totally black not even activating. I can use only in safe mode with no problem. Sometimes i can open with normal mode and when surfing on net or playing game suddenly screen goes dark with kind of lines and blackscreen happens after this. Till now i found out that when i uninstal ATI Radeon 6500 graphic card i can normally acces windows but it instals it back otomatically so goes dark after 5mins. What can i do any ideas i really need help!

Hello

 

I just turned on my notebook for the first time tonight since purchase and went through basic set up. I purchased an AOC monitor as well and am having problems now connecting the monitor to the notebook. I have an HDMI cable attached to an adapter with  VGA connection. I plugged everything in, the monitor is lit, but says "no signal". When I press f4 + fn nothing happens. When i right click on the desktop and go to "display options", the computer cannot detect a second monitor.

 

What can I do to fix this problem??

My Hp computer is only 4 months old and tree days ago a number of white flashing dots began to appear mid screen on the left hand side. If I am on the internet when they appear I loose most of the control of my mouse and pointer.  The screen also zooms in and out unprompted.  to make my computer functionable I have had to turn off the touch screen through the device manager.
