Hello,

 

I have problem with NVIDIA drivers.  When I start any game or software that uses nvidia gpu, I repeatedly receive:  "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" error. What I have tried so far:

-Reinstaling NVIDIA drivers, tried 4 different ones. During 2 of them pc freezes and not even finish instalation and third one ends with black screen after restart. The one that at least run PC is the one downloaded from HP website.

- Tuning off quick start option

- Changing nvidia power management mode to prefer maximum performance

- adding TdrDelay 8 to graphics driver registry settings

 

I have also tried to install Windows 10, but when booting I get BSOD with Watchdog violation, PC don't even start until I manualy remove NVIDIA drivers in safe mode. Can it be faulty GPU? This PC was bought abroad and I have no idea how I can use warranty service at the moment.

Hi my HP Pavilion X2 Detachable laptop screen has cracked, it is touch screen but no longer works, the computer works fine but only as a computer not as touch screen anymore. How do I go about getting it fixed?

 

I have only had it a week after pc world where I purchased it from had lost my laptop and replaced it with this computer so I don't feel like going back to them 

 

where can I go to fix it and roughly how much will it cost as the repair shop near me did not want to touch it as it was touch screen.

I have some serious problem while gaming.

I can play games with good fps without plugging in my power cord.

But, the moment I plug in the power cord, the fps suddenly drops to below 15 (sometimes below 10 too) that the game starts lagging and it becomes unplayable.

And again, it can be played once I unplug the power cord.

Because of this problem, I can't play any games for more than 1.5 hours with battery load alone. I need to charge my battery, wait, and then play again.

What is the cause of this problem and how can I solve it?

OS: Windows 8.1 64-bit

CPU: Intel Core i5-4200M CPU @ 2.50GHz (3M Cache, up to 3.10 GHz)

RAM: 8GB (2X4GB  Hynix @ 1600MHz)

GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4600 (1790 MB RAM; 0 MB VRAM)

while playiong gta 4 or gta eflc my graphics card i.e nvidia 940m do not work.

tried all the troubleshooting and have the latest drivers but still.

the game works on intel hd graphics and is unable to switch to nvidia geforce 940m.

plz help

My desktop is HUGE and all windows are huge, like everything is magnified and runs off the screen. Tried changing resolution (from what I can tell) and it did nothing. I can't navigate much within each window. At the end of my rope. Any ideas would be very appreciated. Wish I could post a photo of my screen. Thank you!

Ok,

So I just upgraded to windows 10 from Windows 7 then from Vista. 

When I started my touchpad worked, then slowly the button stoped now the pad wont work.

 

I have deleted and reinstalled drivers

I have hard rest my laptop

The light is on so my touchpad is enabled

It doesnt show in device manager 

 I even tried reflashing the Bios.

 

Im out of ideas.

    I know this has been asked and answered for the 230w Advanced Docking Station but I purchased the 120w Advanced Docking Station and want to hook up 3 monitors.  Currently I am trying to use two external on the two DVI ports (haved also tried 1 on DVI and 1 on VGA) and the laptop monitor.  Tomorrow I will be trying a third monitor on either the DVI or VGA but for now I am trying to extend to the second external and I get "Unable to Save Settings" when I try that.  Can you use 3 monitors or 2 monitors and the laptop screen with this docking station and if so how do I set it up?  Also, I have the AMD Radeon HD 7500M/7600M Series video card.  Thanks.

I’ve been experiencing some issues using my Pavilion dv6’s fingerprint reader after upgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 7 64-bit. I have the latest SimplePass installed (sp71729) and the Validity Sensors (WBF) driver version is 4.4.234.0. Everything was working fine (except the login after sleep issue mentioned below) until few days ago when Windows stopped recognizing the fingerprint reader and it disappeared from Device Manager. I added it manually (Add legacy hardware) but to no avail. Then I uninstalled it from Device Manager, restarted my PC and it was detected again. I also reinstalled SimplePass. Now when I start SimplePass and try to register a fingerprint I get the following error: “Failed to merge captured fingers”. I cannot even register a fingerprint in Windows Hello and get the following error: “Sorry, something went wrong”.

 

Another issue I’ve been experiencing is that at least half of the times after waking up the PC from standby/sleep, I cannot login to Windows using my fingerprint. The fingerprint reader’s light flashes but nothing happens after sliding my finger and I have to login via other credentials. Please let me know how to fix these issues. Thank you.

My FireFox browser just upgraded to version 43.0 and SimplePass no longer works with it. I got a message after FireFox upgraded that SimplePass was not compatible and it would be disabled.

 

I have many logins stored in Simplepass and it would be a shame not to be able to use them. It still works with Internet Explorer.

 

Any idea what is going on and if there is a fix for this?

Hit power button it has white light ac adapter light is orange wifi light is orange cpu fan on but nothing else. No hdd activity screen is black, opened it up took apart and all looks good not burn marks on mother board no disconnected cables. Acting like when power supply goes out on a pic and is not giving enough juice to mother board. I am at a loss other than thinking it is power supply but I don't want to just start replacing parts. Help.

Out of nowhere my keyboard has started typing random multiple characters for some of the keystrokes, and some are standard and fine.  The quick solotion is to plug in a USB keyboard.  When CAPS lock is used the same keys are affected by type something different.

 

I have deleted the driver and re-booted.  That didnt work.  I have even gone so far as resetting the laptop back to factory defaults.  same issues were there as soon as we rebooted.

Hello - another problem with my HP pavilion - just bought it and am thinking this is another thing in the registery I need to alter.

 

The computer will play DVD's fine with power DVD 14 - but I have to right click on the DVD drive and open the files manually - even though all the correct autorun options have been enabled... the computer will still not play anything automatically - same with any device I connect to the computer.

 

Please help - so annoying that a new machine needs altering - I had to play with system files to correct the fact that the mouse settings would not save on shutdown and now this... seriously considering taking it back to the shop!

Every 30 seconds my mouse pad stops working for 5 seconds,

And my touchscreen stoped working,

Actula screen cracked and has been replaced by a new screen and a new digitiser by a dealer. The machine works fine now but the touch screen does not work any more. Is there a need to rest any parameters on the laptop or on Windows 8 to re-enable the touch-screen which was working fine until the new screen was fitted.

hi

ive been having problems with my laptop audio i cant work out what is wrong with it it sometimes randomly starts working again only for a short time i have updated all the drivers no help at all headphones arent working and and sometimes when i turn the laptop on the sound goes really high pitched.  i cant work out whats wrong with it

suddenly while i using my laptop a wave came with diffeent colours then vertical lines are coming on the screen i updated graphics drivers but no use ,i had warrenty in usa but it is not applicable in india ...!!!!

Goodday,

 

I can't find driver for ATI Mobility Radeon X1300 (Compaq nc 6400). Operation system is windows 7.

Driver isn't present in download center of ATI comp.
