I have been having problems. I uninstalled the antivirus I had. Now when I tried to reboot it comes up with a disk error. I can't restore it to factory it says my reboot disc is blank. I had a problem with the internet connection before the disc error started. I'm not sure what happened.

brightness key not working on pavillion dv6 6159tx
Dear sir,
The problem is that i change my window 7 to windows 8.1. the problem that i facing is that the brightness keys doesn't work and in device manager the display adapter is showing these two adapters
- amd radeon hd 6700m series
- microsoft basic display adapter
the system is not showing the display adadpter of intel hd ghraphics. now these two amd radeon and intel hd ghraphics both arre not working
please help me

hi i newley bought my hp laptop but i found that pes2013 not detecting my nvidia geforce 840m graphics card
i went to screen resoluton>advanced settings i found that
total available graphics memory : 3839mb
dedicated video memory : 0 mb
system video memory : 0 mb
shared system memory : 3839 mb
please any help here ?

HP Zbook 14 doesn't sleep after closing lid
My System Settings, under Power Options, are set to put my Zbook 14 to sleep when I close the lid. However, closing the lid has no effect. The computer and display stay running. All drivers are up to date according to HP support assistant. I tried selecting Hibernate and Shut Down when the lid closes, and those don't work either. Any help?

Dark patch appeared on screen bottom right hand corner

and yes i already downloaded latest driver versions from hp website and i downloaded latest version of nvidia from nvidia website too please help it's a serious problem here i even don't find any thing about increasing video memory in my bios and when i open pes2013 settings i see it's reading the intel graphics card and vram 32 and beside them unable and when i open it with ( run with graphics processor > high performance nvidia processor it reads my nvidia graphics card but still unable beside it

HP Laptop ENVY 15 screen won't work?
So the other day I was playing a videogame on my laptop when the screen just shut off. I didn't think anything of it, I just tried to restart it (holding down the power button and back on again) but nothing happened.
I can 100% say that the laptop still works. When i turn it on and fiddle with the buttons, I can manage to turn on the onscreen assistant (or whatever its called), and it starts reading to me the lock screen, such as "password field" or if I keep hitting tab eventually "shut down."
Now I figured, I'll just plug in an external monitor by hdmi. Well, for some reason that won't work completely? It works at startup, the hp logo comes up on the external monitor as it loads up, but as soon as windows is booted up, for some reason the display turns off saying "no signal."
I can open up the bios on external monitor (as the laptop turns on i press F10 repeatedly). And I can maneuver around there. But as soon as Windows boots up, for some reason the signal doesn't pass onto the external monitor.
All in all: Laptop screen completely won't work. External monitor works up until Windows is booted up.
I HAVE tried to mess around with the projection options (WIN + P) and that does not seem to fix the problem of nothing projecting onto the external monitor once windows has already booted up.
I've provided as much information as I can think of right now. I hope to get some help. If you need any information I may have left out just ask and I will provide it as quickly as possible.

Flashing windows
When I start my computer and open a window it starts flashing and it is very difficult to write during a flash. When I restart the computer and type my password the screen goes black. I must use ctrl-alt-delete and log out. Then I can log in but the windows is still blinking.
Please help me! My computer is only 2 month old.

Hp Elitebook 2740p screen brightness issue
Hi Guys,
I am a big fan of HP products and also have many of them.
But today i am having the display brightness issue with my notebook elitebook 2740p.Last night brightness was ok, but when i woke up in morning and start using my laptop,ifeel my screen brightness is dim
(all night the laptop was on charging).
Some things i should discuss here that
have installed gfx drivers already
it works with my functions keys too
i already read many of knowladge base topics on hp forum and faq section but no results.
so my problem is my brightness at full is seems dim.Please help me resolve this issue,as i am stuck in here

emails not displayed
I want to see all the messages that have not been allocated to other folders. It worked just fine for a few days but this morning it started to limit the display to unread emails only. I have tried to find a key to vary the display, but can't locate one.

Elitebook 8540w GPU Clock Throttling Problem
I have an Elitebook 8540w with a Quadro FX 1800M installed and I am trying to solve a very annoying problem with the GPU clock being throttled down.
When the laptop is first turned on the GPU will run at it's default clock of 560MHz and will stay that way even when running 3D applications for long periods of time. However if the laptop awakes from sleep or hibernation or the power adapter is removed and re-inserted the GPU clock will get stuck at 405MHz and will remain that way until the laptop is restarted or I force the GPU driver to restart (which often causes a BSOD). I have also discovered that while unplugged the GPU clock will go down even lower to 135MHz which makes running any 3D applications on the go annoyingly slow.
I have ruled out a driver issue as I have tried the latest GPU drivers from the HP website, the Nvidia website and several older verions from the Nvidia website too. This is not an overheating issue as the problem is not triggered by high-ish temps caused by 3D applications.
When the AC adapter is removed and re-inserted I get a warning stating that my power supply isn't powerful enough and that performance will be reduced which I think is causing the problem but this warning message is a load of rubbish as I have the 120W model which is clearly working just fine because the laptop will form fine at full load until it gets stuck in it's low clock mode.
I really need a way to bypass the GPU power saving feature to solve this problem or better yet a way to set my own clock profiles for different situations.
