HP g6 external display in bios doesn't work

0
0

Hello,

As many users I have a problem with external display on my laptom. My screen is broken and I can't see any image on external display untill windows 8 boots. I tried pressing Fn+F4 while boot, I tried reseting BIOS to it's default settings with battery remove and pressing F9 while in main BIOS. I flashed new BIOS image from windows (at least I hope so), notebook restarted and after that powered off and on two times then windows booted again, that's why I guess I have the latest BIOS.

I disconnected internal screen from motherboard - no result, I connected it again and just disconnected LED display, letting camera be connected - still there.

Is there anything else I can try to make external display work in BIOS?

Thanks for your time!

BTW, I have clear image in windows after pressing Fn+F4.

Hi! I have a probook 4530s less than 2 year running windows 7, 64 bit.  It worked good but yesterday when i started the laptop, nothing came on the screen. I tried to figure out the problem but the only thing i got is that when i take a flash light near my laptop screen, only then i can difficulty see what's on the screen. What could be the problem? Is it some cable connected to screen, or maybe the screen itself. Please help!

graphics card problem

hi,
After an evening and a day wasted googling for the solution, i give up and hope you guys can help me.

I'm getting an BSOD 116 igdkmd64.sys after i try to update my ATI graphics card driver.

now the problem is that everytime i update the drivers, they install and a reboot gets prompted, i reboot my pc and than when windows starts up, i get the welcome screen, and after that a blackscreen..can see and move my mouse, screen goes black and BSOD
BSOD error: STOP error 0x00000116

the only way for me to get back into windows is going into safe mode uninstalling driver and running driversweeper, only than i can boot into windows again normally.

First question that comes to mind..am i trying to install the proper drivers?
Answer: yes i am. Ive downloaded the drivers manually and let that ATI driver search tool search for it, both come up with the same driver and both come up with the same crash.
what ive done and tried so far:
-uninstall old driver, reboot, install new driver = bsod
-install new driver over old driver = bsod
-boot into safemode, uninstall new driver, reboot into safemode, install new driver = bsod

then i downloaded the individual drivers and tried all of the above again with the individual drivers instead of the CCC package. all the same result, a bsod

went into device manager, disabled the entire vid card. rebooted windows so it could find the card as 'new hardware' and tried all of the above once more...= bsod
that about amd
but in the other hand if i make disable to intel graphic card the windows just can open without any thing related to graphic cards and if i make disable to amd card i can open the windows without and things releated to card like memory, ram, bios .......... just windows can open without anythings related to cards ..... if i tried to install the two card without reboot and when the system open ""memory crash or dump" or black screen
note: i download the updated cards in your site ... amd work but intel one when i tried to open it "the system doesn't meet the minimum hardware requirements "

please help me as soon as possible i tried everything i can without anything just errors

Not supporting Intel Graphics driver

I purchased HP 15-r203TX and installed windows 8 pro.

After that i downloaded nvidia graphics driver it says install intel driver first.

So i downlaoded

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp69501-70000/sp69588.exe

From this link

http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-15-r200-Notebook-PC-series/7486447/model/7584372#Z7_3054ICK0KGTE30AQO5O3KA30R1

But when i try to install is says "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for install the software"

Whats the problem with this?

SOLVED:

Drivers at HP are not for windows 8 (I think so,because in OS selection it shows win 7 and 8.1,did HP forget to add win 8 drivers.)

I downloaded Intel HD driver from here

http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/GRAPHICS-BOARD/INTEL/Intel-Iris-HD-Graphics-Driver-1018144222-64-bit.shtml#download

And nvidia from here:

How to Switch to Nvidia as Default Display Option

0

Hello,

I got this laptop a few days ago but I cannot play any video games or run 3D graphics intensive software on it, as it seems that the display uses the onboard Intel Chip, and not the discrete Nvidia chip that comes with the device.

I've tried googling the problem, resulting in a driver update, as well as going to the Nvidia Control Panel and clicking on Preferred Devices as 3d card for the global settings but to no avail.

And when I go to the BIOS there's no option to switch to the Nvidia chip for the display nor any option at all for the display settings.

If someone knows of a solution could you kindly post in this thread, as temporarily I have no strength left to tackle this issue.

Pavilion G7-2253so Video freezing and audio buzzing in every 10 minutes

Hi!

I have tried about everything: installing new drivers, changing power options, playing video with battery power, with different players, cooling system is fine etc. but i think the following problem is hardware related:

When watching a video it freezes about half a second in every 10 minutes, and every 30 half hour (sometimes every 20  minutes) freezing last about a second and there's loud buzzing sound. When listening audio, the buzzing sound plays on those intervals, obviously.

I have been wathing the task manager, but i don't notice any significant spike in CPU perfomance to cause this. So is this some kind of default event that this PC makes, because it happens in exact 10 minutes intervals and buzzing sound 30 minutes intervals? What can be done?

HP Zbook 17 Horizontal Line Flicker, Static

On occasion, the screen of my laptop suddenly goes black, and small, horizontal white lines flicker across the screen, concentrated at the top. When this happens, the laptop is completely unresponsive, and can only be turned off by holding down the power button. This sudden static seems to occur if the laptop is physically moved. When the laptop is turned back on, there is no static, and it runs as normal. Does anyone know the cause of this and how it can be fixed? Thank you!

display driver as Microsoft Basic Display Adapter, need to update but cant

The display driver that HP provided (SP71390) is corrupted. I tried downloading it from different PCs and unpacks it, still gives out an error message that it is corrupted.

So i tried the installers from AMD website, but no success as well. My laptop still shows that it is using the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. It is supposed to be using the R7 m300 series.

Do anyone have any alternatives to solve this driver issue?

I even tried to install it manually from the driver's option (device manager > display > properties) but still no can do.

Please reply me ASAP.

R7 M360 driver not available. Need help.

My laptop is a HP Pavillion 15 ab031ax which runs AMD A10 8700P with AMD R7 M360.

My problem here is that, the display driver provided in HP support does not help and it is corrupted. I tried download in other machine still gotten the same result.

I checked again, i saw it updated as 23rd June 2015, but alas the same thing. The files is corrupted.

Right now after installing the graphic driver provided by AMD website, i only have R8 M365DX as my video driver but my display shown as Microsoft Basic Display Adapter.

When i click update for the MBDA, it says that it is up to date. When i tried to manually install R7 M360 or AMD R7 Series. It wont let me.

I asked tech support about this, they tried to do it remotely but failed. When is the display driver file gonna be update?

I cant do my work without it.

Can I get the notebook replaced / screen replaced if i have a single dead pixel?

0

Hi,

I have a 2 days old notebook, and there's a stuck pixel (red) on the display.

It's an expensive notebook, costs more than a thousand dollars, and HP website tells me I cannot get it fixed or replaced if i have just  a single bad pixel.

I'm HATING my Envy for this. I'm typing this on my old notebook, the very sight of that ugly stuck pixel is getting me irritated. Sure you can ignore it, but once you know there's a problem, your eyes always tend to go to the problem place.

Is there a way I can get it replaced or repaired under warranty?

I went for the 3 years extended warranty option, and now found out a dead pixel is not covered.

Sucks.

Display won't wake up

0
0

It's a brand new notebook.

I've done nothing on it, other than installing Windows updates and creating recovery disks.

  • I set the "Turn off display after" option to 1Minute.
  • IMPORTANT: I set display brightness all the way to zero, the lowest setting possible, using either the keyboard keys, or the brightness option in Windows.
  • Leave the notebook idle for a minute, the display sleeps like it should (the notebook is set to sleep after 30 minutes, it's only the display that sleeps, the notebook is still awake).
  • Move the mouse, press keys on the keyboard, the screen does not come back up. The computer is still up and running-i can toggle keyboard backlight On/Off using the keys, but the display won't wake up.
  • Press the "Brightness +" button on the keyboard, the display wakes up. This is the only way to wake it up. The other option is to press and hold the power button, force a shut down, and start the computer again.
  • This happens ONLY when "brightess" is set to the lowest level. If brightness is set to even one level above the lowest, the issue cannot be reproduced. Moving the mouse or pressing any key on the keyboard will wake the display up in this situation.
  • Both Intel HD graphics 5500 and GTX 850M drivers are up to date.
  • BIOS is up to date as well.
  • Battery/ Plugged in does not make a difference. If the display brightness is set to lowest, the screen will ALWAYS fail to wake up, irrespective of which power source is in use.

What do I do? Please don't tell me it's a minor problem and I have to live with it.

There are so many minor problems with this notebook, and all these are adding up to make it a total piece of cr..

My almost 5 years old probook with a second generation core i3 CPU and no discrete GPU, is better than this brand new 5th generation core i7+GeForce GTX notebook.

I'm beginning to regret this purchase. I should have gotten another probook. Thought the Envy offers a better "bang for the buck", and now i think this was a huge mistake.

Anyway, any idea how i can get this fixed? Looks like a driver problem right? Or is this a hardware problem? Can someone with an Envy notebook try this out and tell me if the issue can be reproduced on their rig? It can't be reproduced on my Probook.

Thanks.

HP Envy q002la Brightness adjust problem

Hi, recently I bought an HP Envy 15 q002la, Windows 8.1 (64bits).

Everything worked well, but suddenly the brightness functions stopped working. So brightness got stuck (at the brightest point).

What can I do to fix the problem?.

I checked driver updates, but all the drivers are updated. I used the buttons and Windows control, but none worked, brightness still stuck.

AMD Display Driver causing display problems!

I'm a man on the edge...

Two days ago, after not applying updates to my laptop for a while, I caved in to HP notification pressure and let the thing do its business.

Part of this was a BIOS update - whatever that is - amongst other things that at the time I didnt care to note. I'll mention at this point that I'm about as technically aware as an orange so please bear with me...

As it began restarting (after the update) the graphics/display started going haywire. Flashing coloured lines, diagonal lines, fading windows, flashing desktop icons, laggy taskbar movements, flickering windows, ghosting, the lot...

In utter panic and to great stress through the flickering, I managed to back-up my personal files onto an externl hardrive and attempted to do a system restore to just before I began the update process.

The system restore was succesful, in the sense that it completed succesfully, but the graphics problem still remained. After looking at quite a few forum posts on my phone, I decided to do a 'system refresh'

Again this happend as it should but the graphics problem still remained. Soon after, amid mad flashing, a pop-up box appeared informing me that "AMD Display Driver had stop responding and had succesfully restarted..."

"Aha! the culprit!?" I exclaimed, not knowing if it was or not. But sure enough, after reading a few more forum posts and uninstalling the AMD Display Driver, the problem was resolved!

I figured that an update to this display driver was applied and that's what was causing the problem, 'maybe it didnt install right or something? - I thought.

With this in mind, I went over to the AMD website and reinstalled the latest AMD Catalyst Display Drivers (Omega-14.501.1003?) for my laptop (based on what the AMD Auto Detect Utility recommended). Didnt work... the problem came back as soon as the installation progress got to the 'AMD Display Driver' part. I unistalled the drivers...

Then I tried to download and install the previous version (13.12) to see if this would work, it didnt, problem came back during install as before. Uninstalled!

What I have now is a 'Microsoft Basic Display Driver' and the graphics work fine with that, but I like to play games on my laptop and i'm not sure if the basic display driver will be enough to handle higher settings? heck... I don't even know what a display driver is for!!!! and my display brighness buttons dont work :smileysad: why...?

How can I fix this? Where can I get an AMD Display Driver that works? Do I even need it? Was it the BIOS update (what's a BIOS update?) that ruined my life? - Please help......  and also my display brightness buttons dont work :smileysad: why... WHY?

Op System - Windows 8.1 (64-bit) (x64) - fully updated with all availible windows updates

My Graphics Hardware: A8-6410 APU

Processor: AMD A8-6410 APU with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics

Happy to provide further info if needed! Please keep it simple, think orange...

Thanks,

M
