PROBLEM: BLACK SCREEN WHEN I START MY LAPTOP,HARD DISK AND FAN STARTS FOR SHORT TIME AND GOES OFF,DRIVE LIGHT DOES NOT GLOW,
EXPERIENCED SAME PROBLEM BEFORE,THEY TOLD ONE OF MY RAM WAS SHORT CIRCUITED AND TOOK OUT 1GB RAM AND MY LAPTOP WAS WORKING FINE THEN, NOW SAME PROBLEM HAS OCCURED....PLZ HELP...
i only had my laptop for less then a month , dog was running around playing with the cat and accidently knocked my laptop and now the screen is white and i searched for the screen but its a bit pricey so was wondering is their other model type that i could use,or generic model , cause i seen generic models less expensive and it looks like it would fit but not sure ....can anyone help please..or where can i find a new or use one less ....
NOTE: The hourglass is still rotating a day after completed download....HOW TO FIX THIS?? If it is stuck in a loop from removing a defective software/driver and redownloading a supposed glitch free version...

My laptop was working fine the night before and I put it on sleep and closed it and put it away.The next morning I go to turn it on the screen is grey. I can see any icons not even my screen to log in. A norton message popped up in the right hand corner asking to update so I pressed it and a tab open but my touchscreen would not work. So I updated the google chrome from norton and still can't see my icons on the bottom. I've try turning my computer off but the power button is just flashing and it is not turning off.
Whenever i try to play Planetside 2, i crash. I dont crash in the character pick screen, but when i play. This also happends when i try to play other games like Empire Earth and Heroes of the Storm.
What is wrong with my computer?
After like 2 mins of inactivity laptop screen goes white. to get out off white screen i have to tap keypad and then press escape!! HELP!!!

My HP TrueVision HD Webcam is not working. I have tried to use it multiple times, and yet every time is doesn't show up where my face should be. It just shows up as the YouCam logo, any suggestions?
I have the following:
HP ZBook 15 G2 Mobile Workstation (F1M37UT#ABA) (Windows 7)
HP 2012 230W Advanced Docking Station (A7E38AA#ABA)
2 x Dell U2312HM connected via Display Port
I use one of the Dell displays as the primary display when the laptop is docked.
I am using Windows to manage the displays (extend, disconnect)
Before I undock, I disconnect the external displays. When I do so, both IE11 and Chrome processes hang. If I extend back to the external displays, they start working again.
I originally used the HP drivers for the intel hd graphics 4600 and nvidia quadro k2100m. I was having problems with the system not recognizing the type and resolution of the external displays, so HP support advised me to try the intel and nvidia drivers. That did not fix the issue with the displays and I am also having this problem with the IE11 and Chrome processes hanging. I recently updated to the latest intel and nvidia drivers and they made no difference.
I'm disappointed that this very expensive laptop and docking station works so poorly.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Anyone have a suggestion to work around or fix it?

I am using compaq presario CQ61. Last day I opened my laptop and saw some strange lines at the bottom of the screen which accumulated there and pushes up the task bar so that another line at the top portion of the screen cuts the display into two and hides the portion of the screen from me where this top horizontal line is coming, I cant see what is written there just below that of the top horizontal line. I think it is that much portion having a width equal to what portion have been lifted up by the multiple lines at the bottom of the screen. Any body have known a solution please help immediatly

I have used the laptop for almost two years, and today I ran into the following problem(Yesterday everithing was working fine):
I have opened the laptop and the power light is on, the finger scanning led was light but no screen display.
I am using Team viewer and I can access the laptop, scanned the finger and the windows 8.1 loads correctly, but still nothing is displayed on the laptop screen.
Using Team Viewer: Right click on desktop -> Screen Resolution and there is:
Display: 1. Digital Flat Panel (1024 x 768 60 Hz)
Resolution: 1024 x 768 ( Recommended) <- is grayed out.
Usually the display should have been at a larger display:1920x1080.
Until now I have tried the following: Hard reset, serveral restarts, but no idea what to do next.
Any help/hint would be appreciated.
I have a Pavilion G4-2029wm Notebook. My webcam has stopped working. When i start my computer it originally shows up in the device manager. After a while the sound of a usb being connected happens and it says it does not recognize the device (i didnt connect any usb device).
Hi I've recently reinstalled windows 8.1 on my HP ENVY 15-j040el but the webcam seems to not work even after i re-downloaded and re-installed every driver avalible on your website.
When I open the Cyberlynck You Cam program the message "we found a new webcam HP True Vision HD would you like to use it?" keeps popping up, if i press yess the message pops up again and again and again.
In Skype the same thing happens n the "preferences" for the video when I am prompted to choose a webcam the TrueVision HD keeps appearing and dissapearing.
It never works.

I have updated the drivers for both my integrated as well dedicated graphics card but still my function keys f2 and f3 for Brightness control is not working altough all other function keys are working.
this PC comes with DOS but i have booted it with Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit.
How do I connect my projecter via the HDMI port.
I have bought two differntbcable but niether work Control panel does not have a "connect a projecter" menu
I have a laptop HP Pavilion 15-p110nr:
AMD A10-5745M with AMD Radeon HD 8610G 768MB integrated graphics card
AMD Radeon R7 M260 2GB (dedicated graphics card)
6GB RAM
Windows 8.1 64 bit
The problem is that the laptop refuses to make any use of the R7 m260... for video games and everything, it's always using the integrated HD 8610G.
The laptop detects the R7 card, as it is shown in the device manager, as well as a 'linked card' on the CCC and on other programs like AMD System Monitor. But the card simply doesn't do it's job, it doesn't start working. I've used the AMD System Monitor to check if it had any activity, and it's always 0.
I have read many other posts on the internet about people with the same problem, and I've tried every solution that people suggested, without any luck:
- I have used the Catalyst Control Center to control the Switchable Graphics and set my games to high performance. This should make the R7 be the main graphics card for that videogame, but it doesn't work. There's also a switchable graphics monitor in the CCC, I activate it to see what card is being used when playing a game, but even the monitor doesn't work! it doesn't show the game's .exe (I've tried different games like GTA V, Skyrim or TDU2).
- I've read you can just disable the integrated graphics card on the BIOS, but I don't have that option on my BIOS... And if I disable it on the Windows Device Manager, the R7 still doesn't start working, but instead, the computer uses some 'Microsoft Basic Render'... which of course you can't use for gaming, as the FPS will be 0,00001.
- I've tried like 4 different drivers for the graphics card, the newest, the beta drivers for GTA V, the latest from the HP website for my laptop's model, and an older version. Still, the R7 doesn't show any activity anywhere. Every time I changed drivers, I used the Removal Tool (Display Driver Uninstaller) to remove everything completely before the new installation.
- I've also read that there should be an option (I think this is only for Nvidia graphic cards) to shift+right click on a game, and click an option like 'run with dedicated graphics card'. I of course don't have this option.
- I have also set my laptop to use a high performance profile of settings on the battery section, as I read this could affect whether the computer will use one card or the other, but no change.
Why isn't my laptop making use of the R7 m260??? What else can I try?
I had dead pixels on my laptop screen and finally replaced it with a new one a couple of weeks ago. It had been working fine until yesterday. The screen turns on (not black), but does not display the desktop. I kind of liken it to snow on a TV screen. I've narrowed it down to the screen rather than the graphics card since the display is fine on an external monitor (see photo).
I've opened the screen bezel again and disconnected and reconnected the screen to the laptop. However, the screen is still the same. What suggestions do you have for additional troubleshooting? Do I need to replace the screen again?
