Hello, I bought this notebook 5 months ago and it started failing a couple of days after arrived.
It was bought in New Zealand and I contacted tech support there. They stated that it was a driver issue and made me update the video card drivers and BIOS and i don't remember what else.
It was no help. I stayed in NZ for 3 months then came back to Argentina where I actually live.
I am getting no help from HP. I am SO frustrated. They state that it is a software issue. BUT, if I have the same OS than the other ppl that have the same notebook... the same drivers... and the same hardware, it should not fail. I even made a total restore of the laptop. If the same OS and drivers work for other 15-p001ax owners, why aren´t those working for me??? why is my computer freezing, turning into a black screen when I even upgraded to 16GB of RAM? The onboard memory card it even says that it has 4GB...
I am so mad about this product and HP not giving any solution, saying that it is a software issue that it is not covered under the warranty and that they won´t even examinate the notebook because it is SOFTWARE and not a hardware problem... Not even examinate the product!!! You do not even have a place where to take this in Argentina.
If the problem is because of compatibility between both video cards (onboard R4 and dedicated R7) then it is an HP problem that mixed both in the same device, it is not my problem, it is HP problem and it is simply not fair that I have to keep a product that won´t work as it is supposed to work. Come on! My sisters old Dell laptop that is dual core and only has 4 GB of RAM and 128mb of video card memory runs better than this one and hasn't freeze doing the same stuff than what I do with this HP notebook.

I will never ever recommend an HP notebook to anyone at all!
ISSUES: the notebook freezes, the only way to start using it again is by using the power button, pressing it for a couple of seconds.
Programs freeze and sometimes not even ctrl alt del work. 16 GB of RAM!!
The notebook freezes and then the display turns black and gives an error about the video card driver. (screens shots are being attached)
