I have an HP 15-r210dx laptop I purchased from Best Buy a few weeks ago. The specs for the product are on this page. http://www.amazon.com/HP-15-r210dx-Laptop-i5-5200U-750GB/dp/B00XDXGQ3Q. I have Intel HD 5500 Graphics.

I recently learned that I do not have any dedicated video RAM for my laptop and I need some, for it is required for some gaming I will be doing. I have 3029MB approximate total memory. I know I can increase my dedicated video RAM, but I don't know how. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi, ive smashed my screen on my hp envy touchsmart 17-j122na but the display works fine. Im trying to find a replacement digitizer as thats all i need but cant find any for this model. The laptop is touchscreen so will i be able to use a digitizer from a different model with the same dimentions of 17.3".

HELP...Last time I used my lap to windows downloaded some updates (unknown if related). Today I go to turn my lap top on and although it turns on the sceen appears to be black. I can see a change in the sceen from a dull gray to a real black when I turn my lap top on. Under closer examintation the screen is turning on just so dim that I can barely see it under just the right lights. So I plug it into a TV and it works thru the TV, sort of. The login screen came up however there was no mouse and the box where I would type a password it like flashing i guess really fast. Also there is a fast flashing box around my wifi signal strength and around the arrow I would click after I typed in my password. The keyboard seems to be unresponsive once i hit this point. If I try to boot in safe mode then I get no output to the TV and the laptop screen is black. If I try a BIOS reset same issue. Any suggestions would be aprrecaited. Thank you

I have this hp 1000 1140tu mini series laptop from about lasst 5 months i have got these white spots on screen .. i have tried to clean using methods from internet ..  but no improvement .

Even i tried to open the LCD out of laptop and tried to clean but no success.

 

any solution ...

 

and why this is caused ,,,'  technically this problem is called what.

 

please help me resolve it.

I just got my new special edition HP laptop, and i love it. Everything is great except for the graphics, which i want to upgrade. So all i want to know is what graphics combatibility slot does it have, so i know which type to buy that will work with my laptop.

I noticed the flashing issue before 2 months, but at that time flashing ocuured at the time of starting only but now issue gets wired. Some times when I adjust the laptop screen, flashing issue is occuring but its not happening all the time.

 

The flashing issue will be high at the time of starting or after sleep and after its not occuring much.

What i tested is,

 

1, Updated the graphics driver

2, started the PC without battery

 

But this is not helped me. Any advise will be helpful.

Hello All,

 

I've this HP Envy Ultrabook 4 with Touch Screen (14") running Win 8. It recently got its touchscreen glass broken, the display is still working ok with sometimes random mouse/windows movement and the lack of touch functionality. The replacement kit will cost almost 500 Euros here in Netherlands . I want to know if it is possible to replace the broken touch screen by regular (non-touch) LED screen? If yes, what is the HP part number? Notebook detail is below:

Hi,

 

For several weeks now, my Laptop screen has been acting very strange. It started with a off-white gradient with pink at the bottom that made it impossible to see. I found that when moving my screen back and forward, it would either fix this, or it would turn complete gray and I would have to shut the laptop and then open it again. Occasionally, it would cause the screen to go black on the left and right edges and give only a few inches of visible screen, though this rarely happened.

 

However, now, it's gotten worse. Now, I get strange black square patches across my screen, and occasionally, (more often than not) I will open my internet browser and upon viewing certain image-heavy pages, my screen goes completely bonkers. It starts blotting out with checker patterns, noise, whited out areas and sometimes, the display driver crashes and restarts. A few times, happening more often now, it bluescreens and says something about "Failure to recover Display Driver", which I am assuming is when it tries to restart the Display Driver and fails at it.

Sometimes, it even just downright bluescreens with a loud blaring noise (if I'm currently listening to something), and then restarts.

 

Overall, what I am hoping to find out, is if this is a hardware problem and I need to find some way of repairing it, or if it's a virus or software problem that will be remedied by the installation of a driver or reinstallation of Windows. I contacted my computer repairman and all he said was "replace the computer" and I don't think that's an answer just yet, I'd like to at least try to fix it. I've recently sent this computer in for it's warranty repairs, and it was a few months after they sent it back that this started.

Hello folks !

I have this HP Pavilion dv6-6140TX

I7

4GB DDR3

1GB GDDR5

AMD Raedon

 

My issue:

As soon as I power on my laptop following events take place :

 

1. Power button light ON.

2. Fan starts at a normal speed.

3. The LED on the key with wi-fi symbol lits ORANGE in color constantly.

4. Exactly after 30 seconds, CAPS LOCK starts blinking twice*. (Blinks twice then a longer pause and again blinks twice....)It happens continously.

5.A black screen with no display.

 

*The blinking code  indicates BIOS Corruption as I read somewhere.

**USBs working fine

 

I cannot do anything beyond this.

 

Things I have tried:

 

1. Hard RESET.

2. Reseating RAM and HDD

3. Win key+B and then power On to get into BIOS recovery

4. Power On and then F2

 

Nothing seems to work out.

 

Kindly help me. I have high expectations from this forum.

Hi Pls my notebook is HP ENVY TouchSmart 15-j052nr Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR). I tried to install the NVIDIA HD driver to improve my gaming experience, but anytime I try this is what comes 'the graphics driver could not find compatible hardware.' Pls help me out here.

I've had the same problem as seen in 8 previous pages on this forum. My wife opened our 1 month old, $2000 hp spectre x360 laptop to find the screen had cracked. By the time we got the laptop to hp, the cracks had spread and some shards of glass fallen out near the origin of the crack at one hinge. Hp have deemed this as physical damage and quoted us $523 for repairs, on what without doubt was a defective screen. I can't even begin to express my anger and disappointment at both the quality of hp screens based on the 8 pages of similar issues, and the ridiculous quoted repair costs. I could buy a new laptop for less. With this level of customer service, I don't see hp maintaining their reputation of quality.

Hi, 

 

I cannot get my laptop to register a monitor (I have tried two different monitors and two different cables that work with other people's computers so it is definitely my laptop that has the problem). 

 

I've called HP support and they sent me new up-to-date drivers (Intel and NVIDIA) to install and it still isn't fixed.  

 

I've tried everything on this page ... http://h20435.www2.hp.com/t5/The-Next-Bench-Blog/Connect-your-PC-to-your-TV-through-HDMI-and-More/ba-p/78601#.VX-wCfmqoSV (when trying the NVDIA graphics, I couldn't get the "display settings" function to show up at all)

 

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

 

I've never been able to succesfully connect anything to my laptop with the HDMI port - could I be missing some sort of software/hardware that actually allows the HDMI to function??  It's the only port I've got so would really like to get it working!

When starting my HP dv6 3060em it goes to the HP Logo screen like normal but once that goes away the screen just goes black and does nothing. The sound  is working, just the screen remains black. What shuld I do?

I have a problem installing a working driver for the AMD Radeon HD 7600M Series graphics card.

 

• HP Pavilion g6-2238TX
• AMD Radeon HD 7600M Series
• Windows 7 64 bit

 

I have tried the amd-catalyst-omega-14.12-with-dotnet45-win7-64bit dirver to no avail.

 

I have also tried these drivers from AMD too:

Hello, I bought this notebook 5 months ago and it started failing a couple of days after arrived.

It was bought in New Zealand and I contacted tech support there. They stated that it was a driver issue and made me update the video card drivers and BIOS and i don't remember what else.

It was no help. I stayed in NZ for 3 months then came back to Argentina where I actually live.

 

I am getting no help from HP. I am SO frustrated. They state that it is a software issue. BUT, if I have the same OS than the other ppl that have the same notebook... the same drivers... and the same hardware, it should not fail. I even made a total restore of the laptop. If the same OS and drivers work for other 15-p001ax owners, why aren´t those working for me??? why is my computer freezing, turning into a black screen when I even upgraded to 16GB of RAM? The onboard memory card it even says that it has 4GB...

 

I am so mad about this product and HP not giving any solution, saying that it is a software issue that it is not covered under the warranty and that they won´t even examinate the notebook because it is SOFTWARE and not a hardware problem... Not even examinate the product!!! You do not even have a place where to take this in Argentina. 

If the problem is because of compatibility between both video cards (onboard R4 and dedicated R7) then it is an HP problem that mixed both in the same device, it is not my problem, it is HP problem and it is simply not fair that I have to keep a product that won´t work as it is supposed to work. Come on! My sisters old Dell laptop that is dual core and only has 4 GB of RAM and 128mb of video card memory runs better than this one and hasn't freeze doing the same stuff than what I do with this HP notebook.

I will never ever recommend an HP notebook to anyone at all!

 

 

 

ISSUES: the notebook freezes, the only way to start using it again is by using the power button, pressing it for a couple of seconds.

Programs freeze and sometimes not even ctrl alt del work. 16 GB of RAM!!  

The notebook freezes and then the display turns black and gives an error about the video card driver. (screens shots are being attached)

Hi all,

I'm writing here since I am experiencing video issues when running any sort of games on my brand new HP Envy 15-k111nl. In particular, games work with Dx9, whereas they never work in Dx11 mode. Immediately after I launch the game, in fact, I get a black rectangle in the upper-left corner of the screen (in the rest I see the desktop). I can move the cursor and I can hear the sound of the game playing. Have you ever heard about that issue?

first i can't remember if my hp envy 17 - 3002ea notebook pc comes with intel and AMD GPU. Secondly, i newly updated my laptop to windows 8.1 and some of the drivers are missing. If it actually uses both graphic driver, can i be helped with how i can possibly get the latest drivers for the two of them. Thirdly, i'm unable to reduce or increase the brightness of my laptop screen. I simple assume it is caused by either of these missing drivers that i'm not able to do this. Finally, does my laptop have a specific audio driver because it comes with  Beat By Dre audio system? 

I would be glad to hear a response very soon because i need to resume my graphics work.

Replaced motherbrd now reinstalling drivers. This laptop has dual Intel & AMD graphics(Radeon 6770m).  When installing the Intel video driver and the Intel  switching driver, (from HP drivers) I get the message " This computer does not meet the requirements for this driver" It did install AMD Radeon  and Catalyst with the graphic switching control.

This computer has core i7 with 16gb ram.  

 

Now after a few days we are getting the famous BSOB errors with Error:

***   igdpmd64.sys – Address FFFFF88005793A18 base at FFFFF88005639000, DateStamp 4d8d3eb7

 

They forums at MS say this is linked to dual graphics DV7's etc. and graphic driver install issues.

 

No real solution for igdpmd64.sys and 0x00000050 BSOD errors?

 

Is the error from the incompatable Intel video driver causing this?

 

Just trying to get back to factory performance.

 

Any ideas accepted, thanks
