Hi everybody,

 

I'm in France,

but as I am from Hong Kong,

so prefer to chat in English.

 

last night when I was watching a video from my WD external HHD,

all a sudden, my PC shut down, black out! ......( not just go to sleep)

 

And I have to reboot my PC , but no problem,

PC works normally ......

 

If it's the overheat problem ?

I have followed HP instruction, open my PC with care,

and clearup my fan, even charged the "Thermopast" which was drying up.

3 weeks ago !

 

COOL, works perfectly,

my PC is very cool,

Even I also followed HP instruction to set my fan "on " all the time

 

 

So, it's anybody there can tell me for what reason that my PC shut down ....all a sudden ?

It worry me !

So I replaced the screen on my laptop all went well then turned it on and it's really dim I can barely see anything and the brightness button is not working I'm not even sure the brightness goes that low but I have no idea what to do I have taken the screen off and on multiple times no Change is there anything I can do to fix the brightness issue?

My mum had purchased a Pavillion Notebook 15 PC non - touchscreen laptop. A few week later the screen had smashed. I went to my local repair center (PC World) and asked if they could replace the screen. They said they couldnt so I decided to a have a good proper look online and could not find a exact screen replacement for the laptop. We have seacrhed everywhere for a replacement and have not found one. Our warranty only covers technical problems and we have only had the laptop a few weeks.

 

We then rang HP customer services and asked if they could fix it. They said they could only fix it for £250 or replace the laptop completely. We thought that was absoulety ridiculous as it was worth as musch as half of the laptop was worth.

 

I am now sick and tired and fed up of looking for screen replacements and not finding any. At the moment we are sitting here and paying for a laptop which has a broken screen.

 

What I cant wrap my head around if somebody bought one of these laptops from you or PC world and had a full warranty on the laptop and they did smash the screen how would they replace or fix it? Because PC world could not afford to keep replacing a full laptop everytime and nobody could afford to keep paying £250 to get the screen fixed.

 

If this is the case your services and accessibility to product replacements are terrible and your expensense are to high especially when the screen itself is worth around £50 itself. This is disgracefull!!!

I cannot control my screen's brightness using the keys f2 and f3.Whenever i try it displays unavailable.I checked  in device manager whether there is any outdated display driver and found none.how to solve this?

Hello

I need help, I recentlly bought two 355 hp g2 (J4T00EA) with AMD processor and graphics card AMD Radeon R5 and one of that show dedicated Graphic memory 2G and and detect two display adapters (R4,R5) in devices.

 

But otherone show dedicated graphic memory 512M and dont detect R5 graphic card in display adapters and just detect R4 graphic. and I installed orginal driver in same way for both of that. and all devices are detected in Device manager.Help.

How to make the screen resolution to 1280 x 800 for my hp probook 440G2? it is showing only three options which are not my preferred one. Actually I use a pen tablet which requires the specified 1280 x800 resolution

Laptop was infected so during system restore, it was powered off.  Now I have tried restore and refresh and someway I got on ie but with administrator it wouldnt let me use charms.

Now I can't find that and computer had problem with loading internet explorer, so i use firefox.

Hi there - I'm a photographer who is trying to decide between the purchase of a Dell XPS13 and the HP Spectre X360 13-4007na with the QHD screen.

My primary use for it will be as a versatile and portable image processing solution and to be able to impress my clients when I'm out on the road or on location, and I'll be using Lightroom/Photoshop, so screen quality and colour accuracy is paramount to my decision.

Can anyone tell me what percentage of the sRGB colour gamut, the brightness and contrast ratio and most importantly the Delta-E score of this particular screen? This info is readily available for the Dell, but I can't find it for the HP (which I prefer)

I am having problems with logging into my PC. Sometimes when I log in the screen will work fine but most of the time it will go to a black screen. So I have to wait awhile or couple of days for it to work again. I have a HP Split 13 x2 PC and still learning how to work it, think it had wimdows 7 but tried to upgrade to an 8 don't know if it did. I need it fix because Im starting online classes.  thank you

My DVD player does not work. I posted a message a while ago (2wks), was told to try a few steps.  Tried all of this and the cyberlink power media 12 DVD player still keeps saying there is no disc in the drive when I have just inserted and re-inserted  a dvd.

 

Now I can't even find my previous message on the message board.

 

Is this an unsolvable HP problem !!

Hello Ive recently bought this laptop and Im unhappy with the 720p non ips display. Is it possible for me to replace it for 1080 ips or non-ips panel ? 

 

I tried searching arround for screens for my laptop but there isnt a 1080p option ( link )

 

One idea is putting a screen from another extremly similar model like this one ( link)

Hi, I recently after a LOT of struggle managed to get both my graphics cards updated. However, Catalyst Control Center does not recognise my radeon 7690m xt card, and will not open. And under the device manager, that card is now called radeon hd 6700m series, which it is not! I would like to get things fixed so that I can switch between the cards again please. Doing my usual work on the inbuilt intel hd card is unbearable.

MY laptop is suffering from  white  flickering horizontal line at the top of the screen  and shaking screen and  its is persisting.

 operating system : windows 8.1 64 bit x-64 based processor

 installed memory - 2gb

processor . intel pentium (R), cpu . N3510 @1.99ghz.

 i wish to get a solution for this problem as soon as possible..

It has been 3 days since the flickering white lines started appearing and shaking of the screen just started

Hi!

 

I have a HP laptop Model HPG62-a31SO. I bought about 4 years ago. 2 years, it worked quite well. Then, it used to shutdown unexpectedly because of overheating but still working.

 

Since last two months, the screen just black out. After restart,. it used to work. Now, I can use only in safe mode. Or if I disable Intel HD Graphics, then i can open in normal mode. After windows logo appears, the windows default sound comes and after that only black screen. I beleive, the computer runs in the background, but I just can not see .

 

If I install the driver, then computer does not open in normal mode and I again need to go in safe mode. After I disable intel HD Grahphics, then I can open computer in normal mode.

 

I tried to use System tune up but i can never finnish it as computer shutdown after 30-40% completion. One week ago, I used Factory Restore Condition but it did not help. I still have the same problem. Could you please suggest me, what should I do to fix this problem ?

Hello,

 

so I have a HP Pavilion dv7-7001em computer.

My problems is now for about 1 year that when I do some hardwork, like a lot of programs opened, youtube running, my screen becomes black and does not respond anymore.

 

If I had 1 external screen connected to VGA port, then when this happens like I said above, image is shown only on external monitor and not on notebook's screen.

 

The solution is to close monitor (go to sleep mode) and open back again. But then let's say after 2 minutes this will happen again.

 

I know there must be problems with my graphics.

 

I have updated graphic drivers and DX also.

 

I also noticed that if I go to looking for temperatures for my computer, for graphic there is always zero (0), but this feature worked at beginning when I got computer.

 

Any suggestions what to do? It's very annoying when you do something important and then black screen and you have to put computer to sleep.

Hi,  

I was restarting my notebook after an update, and now the screen goes blank after breifly showing the HP logo.  I have gone through troubleshooting as per

but have not been able to do the memory module reset yet.  

None of the other items on this document helped,  can anyone suggest how to fix this problem?

Can I use my HP ENVY TouchSmart 15-j004sa Notebook with a Quad HD monitor (e.g. HP ENVY 32-inch Media Display) and get the full resolution?
