Hi, I have Compaq Presario CQ40-616TU laptop I have a problem in screen, it flickers at the bottom a green horizontal line is always there, below the green line there are vertical black(shades of black) lines which flickers continuously. I have this problem since last 5 months. I have Windows 8 in my laptop and I even tried to format it to check if this problem gets solved but there is no change. Please let me know what this issue is and how can it be fixed?

As soon as I go to my messages a pop up rectangular box appears. It says server SMTP.gmail.com, then user name with my email address in, then a password that is already input, then press ok. I am doing this but keeps popping back up. I have tried other passwords but to no avail. I just need to know what it is and how I can get rid of it.

From yesterday, the screen started flickering when I started my laptop and starts flickering when it turns on after being turned off due to inactivity. I tried removing the battery without any change. when i tried starting it in safe mode it flickered till the safe mode screen appeared. what should i do now?

Hi,

 

My laptop is hp g6 1138 ee with switchable graphics amd hd 6470 m , I tried to use the hp official drivers from the site , there is two drivers , the first shows this error

 

 

 

and its recognized as another driver 7400 instead of 6470

 

 

and the other driver provided by hp causes a blue screen while installing the driver , I tried using amd detecting tool , unifl product and guru pack , installing fresh windows many times for a fresh drivers

 

So I don't know how to solve it

I bought this laptop(HP 15-r203TX) recently. when I tried to open the nividia control panel it didn't open but showed "you are not currently using a display attached to an NVIDIA GPU". what should I do to overcome this problem?

My laptop's screen froze while watching a video then after rebooting it shows black screen but i can log on to windows using fingerprint scanner and laptop can be shut down by pressing windows then alt+f4 then alt+f4 then enter. Works in safe mode. Disabling ati graphics didn't work. Even performing recovery didn't work.
Hard disk test results:
Smart check: passed
Short DST: PASSED
Long DST: PASSED
please help..

So, I bought this laptop from Best Buy a few days ago - and suddenly I'm noticing that the brightness keeps changing depending on what page I'm on. My plan was to use this laptop for art purposes, but boy is it difficult to work on PS when it dims at random.

 

I've already tried turning off the 'adaptive brightness' feature in the power settings, but that didn't work.

 

Are there any fixes for this?

My screen images/icons turned into a larger one, even on opening control panel I could see red background screen, I cannot view the desktop properly, and hard to adjust ....plz guide me to reset it with shortcut key on keyboard or in boot mode .....

So recently I downloaded this game from Steam (Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition) and found out that none of my graphic cards is supporting it.
When I'm going to My Computer -> Properties -> Device Manager -> Display Adapters I can see two available working adapters:
Mobile Intel(R) HD Graphics
Radeon (TM) HD 6490M
For most of the games I played, one of them is supporting by default, and then, with help of Catalyst Control Centre -> Switchable Graphics, I can easily switch between those two. But IWD:EE seems to be ignored by either of them and game in graphic options menu says this:
OpenGL version 1.1.0 – build XXXX
Running on GDI Generic
Driver Provided by Microsoft Corporation
And with this, about 15 years old game is running unplayable on less than 1 frame/sec.
I tried to enter CCC -> switchable graphics -> other application and browse .exe file for IWD:EE and set it to ‘high performance’ but it didn’t help at all. I also tried to disable both graphic adapters and run game also without any effect. It was all the same with all my graphic adapters turned off.
I also tried to download latest version of graphic drivers, but AMD and Intel says they do not support my model and I should download updates from manufacturer’s page, and all updates downloaded automatically for my model from HP via HPSupportSolutionsFramework-11.51.0049 pop an error ‘Your system does not meet the minimum requirements’

Could you please help me configuring my graphic drivers or game setting so I can play it? Thanks!

i use f2 and f3 keys to decrease and increase brightness

Hi! The graphics card on my hp probook 4520s got broken.  It started giving me a blue screen first. I've google the error message and found out that it stands for Video Card. Tried to run it today, now it's not even working. Windows loads as usual, now it's not giving any errors but the screen is not working at all. So i belive that the card has burned out. Therefore i want to ask you if there's an alternitive that i can replace with the factory graphics card? And if it is even possible? The card is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4350.

Hello HP, and I'm back again in the Forum asking for another question.

 

The integrated card, really got me into trouble, so I have forcibly reset my laptop and format the HP laptop EVERYTHING.

Now the laptop is brand new once again, putting the personal files back again in my laptop, reupdated my graphic cards and I just realized that my display is using my Intel HD Graphics 4000 (which caused my laptop to malfunction weirdly a month ago.) I have some games in my laptop, and it was very laggy, and there is is this Nvidia Geforce GT 630m, seemingly not being using after all or in short IDLE. Remember I have updated my graphic cards to the latest version (except the Nvidia one because my internet in my place is slow for the 1st time for unknown reason.)

 

The reason why I do not want to have my Intel HD Graphics 4000 as my display anymore because of my past problem.

 

 

Don't give me answers like:

1. Going to Nvidia Control Panel and go to manage 3D settings and select High Performance Nvidia Processor

2. Everything select to best performance.

3. Going to PhysX and select PhysX processor to the Nvidia.

4. Openning the application as the Nvidia card.

 

It seems all of them are useless!

 

I want to go through BIOS, any help?

 

Remember: I have formatted everything in my laptop before.

Hello, i have a notebook HP Pavilion 15 for about 1 year and now i get a little vertical gray string on my screen. It happends after i instaled MS updates but it seems like its problem with screen. The notebook have 2 years warranty should i repair as a warranty repairs or fix it in other way? Thanks for all help.

What is this code and how can it be corrected.  When I look at the device manager it says:  

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

I have an issue with adaptive brightness on my laptop. Everything is fine until I wake the PC up from sleep,  after which the screen brightens and darkens constantly and repeatedly. This ONLY happens after the pc has been to sleep. And YES I have disabled adaptive brightness in the power options settings. Any help would be greatly appreciated as currently the only solution is a reboot.

Hey,

 

Recently I've been having some video playback issues with my g6 notebook; most times when I run a video (whether it's an online video on YouTube or a home video on my hard disk) it freezes for a while before playing, it's getting really annoying waiting for videos to play.

 

Have you faced with this problem?

After installing Windows Update this morning, I got a Catalyst error. I tried repairing the Catalyst, but continue to get error messages. I also tried downloading new graphics drivers, but no matter which ones I try I get a message that my computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements; whatever that means.

 

Anyway, model is LM726AV (17" Laptop with Dual display output). Using Windows 7 64-bit.

Device manager reports the following Display Adapters:

 

Intel HD Graphics Family - 8.882.2.3000 Date: 9/30/2011

Radeon HD 6490M - 8.882.2.3000 Date: 9/30/2011

 

When I try to run Catalyst, I get the following error boxes one after the other, after clicking ok:

 

 

 

Can someone tell me which drivers I need to download, and the correct procedure for installing them? I'm afraid to uninstall the old Catalyst, because the screen says it will also uninstall drivers, etc. Other than the error boxes, video seems to be working.
