HDMI output to Samsung monitor is not working
I have my HP pavilion laptop 11.6 inch, recently bought a samsung monitor SA300 to connect to my laptop. The samsung monitor does not have HDMI provision.So i bought a HDMI to VGA converter and tried connecting the laptop and monitor , the message in the monitor displays "No Signal".
As i have changed the setting in MOnitor to PC, even i tried Fn+ all keys , but its not working.
Please help me on this. Do i need to install any driver for HDMI in laptop???

my Pavilion TouchSmart 15-n071nr Quad Core has the blacksreen of death how do i fix thi si have tried a hard reset and didnt do any thing i can move my mouse i have tried sticky keys ,task manger ,f8 and 11 and it comes up to the loading scren then a blue screen with words blinks and then it says automatic repairing then after 5 min it goes to a blacksreen where i can move my mouse so whats wrongand how do i fix this?

Problem with playing HD videos
Hello,
My problem is with playing HD videos ( 720p or Full HD).
After upgrading Windows on my laptop and installing drivers, everything was fine till i tried to solve the win 8.1 problem with display drivers and inability to change the level of brightness. After that I discovered that the laptop can't play videos in higher res when they are offline (they become choppy and start to lag behind audio), so i figured the problem is in codecs or the player because any video was playing online. I have tried different codec packs like K lite or FFdshow, tried many players also like VLC, Sm, BS, WM Classic...nothing helped. So i deleted all those players and codecs so now i cant play HD videos online either.
Also i have noticed that when i start any hd video CPU usage goes up to 95%.
Any suggestions what should i do next ?

black screen caps lock key blinks
Laptop screen is blank and the caps lock key blinks 3 times over and over..Tried doing what was suggested, taking out and reinstalling the memory card..also blew out the dust and didn't fix the problem ..I think it's Windows 7 installed.

dead/bright pixels - not covered under warranty?????
I contacted hp about my brand new beats audio special edition laptop having a couple of dead pixels and was told they do not cover the lcd touchscreen under the warranty - what is that???? it is hardware and if it has a couple dead and bright pixels in the first week then what will happen over the next year? I dont have $600 to throw out every couple months for a new laptop and am very angry at this response ......

hi guys pls help i had ma laptop connected to tv for months when it just stopped working a bought a new hdmi cable and still cant get tried all the usual help tips with projecting to another screen etc and still no luck its taking over my life trying to find a solution lol

HP Touchsmart 15 will not turn on
My laptop is only a couple of months old but when I try to turn it on the screen is a light blue color and the arrow just sits there and it never comes on. When I hard shut it down and shut it and come back to it and open it later, the screen will be blue again.

Small black border on notebook screen
Hi there.
I just recently got a brand new HP Envy 15z Slim Touch laptop as a replacement to my previous computer. It's working all fine and dandy, but I notice there is a small black border on the top, left and bottom of the screen...like the display is sort of misshaped and doesn't fit the monitor correctly.
The entire right side doesn't have this small black border and reaches all the way to the side of the monitor.
I have tried 3 different graphics drivers and it happens with all of them. I have also tried setting different resolutions and the same thing happens on all of them.

NVIDIA GT 740M Code 45
Hi. My graphics card is not being detected, device manager lists NVIDIA GT 740M as a hidden device (have to select show hidden devices to view it), upon going into the device properties it states this:
'Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)
To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer.'
I'm sure theres nothing wrong with the actual hardware as it's a fairly new system although I'm not ruling this out. I've tried the following: re-installing intel based chipset from HP, manually installing updated driver from nvidia, restoring to an earlier restore point, attempted to roll back the BIOS to F.56 I think - it said my system was incompatible (have no idea why) - attempted to install BIOS F.63 which flashes successfully but then upon restart it says restoring system BIOS, apparently in dxdiag.exe I'm on BIOS F.63 which is really confusing. I'm out of ideas now except for opening the system guts and checking if the hardware has come loose or something.

Brightness Controls on my HP Pavilion dv7-4065dx is not working
The past couple of months the brightness on my laptop has not been able to dim. I press the brightness controls and this does not work. I go into the control panal and try to lower it but it still stays bright.

Webcam turns on and off
Hi,
Since a week, when ever i use my webcam either in skype, gmail, youcam or in anyother call it turns off after a few minutes and turns on again. and this continues. Especially when the cam truns off the Imgaing devices driver dissapears from Device manager. I have tried the following and nothing really worked.
1. I have un-installed and re-installed the cam drivers but this doesn't change anything.
2. I have used CCleaner to fix registry errors, didn't work.
3. Tried to update the driver software and it shows i have the latest version.
4. Tried to install Mediasmart Webcam software for my product number and surprisingly, a window opens shwoing the installation status and then dissapears (same happened while installing Media smart DVD driver) *** I think this might be linked with the webcam behaving this way.
5. I have read in the forums that updating skype or flashplayer might cause such problem, so un installed skype and flash player, Viber and nothing happened.
6. Made a full windows update, restarted the system, didn't work.
7. Turned off the system, removed the battery for a while and then started it again, didn't work.
8. HP software troubleshoot says i have no issues with software.
Note: When the webcam turns off the drivers dissapear from the device manager. and after mostly a minute or two the drivers re-appear and the webcam works. and it repeats again after few minutes.
Kindly, i request someone to help me out of this issue.

Graphic Drivers
Graphic drivers aren't working. Itt displays a message,"No AMD graphics are installed or device not functioning properly". Please install the appropriate drivers". In device manager, under display adapters, the status of 'Intel(R) HD graphics family' and 'Radeon (TM) 6470M' is 'Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)'. I have done everything I can. I have installed the drivers again by scanning for hardware changes, have downloaded them from the hp website and installed them. But it is the same. Not working.

Notebook display does not turn on again after it was turned off by energy plan
I use a external monitor with extended desktop configuration. The energy plan turns off both displays after 10 minutes.
Now when moving mouse to wakeup display only the external monitor turns on, laptop display remains black.
I have to use CTRL-ALT-DEL to force laptop display to reactivate.
Any idea why this happens?
PS: I update ALL drivers using the ones provided by HP!

screen flickering with vertical lines
My laptop screen starts flickering with black vertical lines from the moment I start it. However it stops as soon as I open web browser. But making web browser to full screen leads to same flickering . same is the case with vlc as well. I can watch videos but as soon as I make it full screen , the whole screen is filled with flickering black lines. Kindly help.
