I have a HP Pavilion laptop product # VZ276UA#ABA model # DV4-1548DX
When turning the power on the screen remains black. I have tried to restart, tried the brightness, check power supply as well as battery. The only thing that I do see that seems abnormal outside of the screen remaining black is the the led light next to the "caps lock key" and the led light "scroll" located on upper portion of keypad just below actual screen have a blinking pattern. The pattern goes like this: blink, blink, blink, blink, then a pause of about 3 to 4 seconds, then blink, blink, blink, blink, another pause of 3 to 4 seconds. This is repeating and continuous. Thank you for your help.

I'm currently using an HP Envy m6 Sleekbook, which didn't come with an installed DVD Drive. I purchased the HP DVD Writer 600r, and it can't seem to read/play DVDs. Currently I'm attempting to watch a DVD, and the player recognizes the disc and I can access its folders, but nothing more. I've tried installing apps from the Windows 8 App store which should be able to read and play DVDs, but that hasn't worked either. I've also tried uninstalling the device from the device manager and troubleshooting for hardware issues. Can this be fixed?
Hi,

Hello,
Ever since I've updated the graphics drivers for HP 6550b i have a weird problem with OpenGL and DirectX graphics (but bigger with OpenGL). With the default drivers available at the support site for my HP laptop, the apps do not see the support for OpenGL. When I update, most of the 3d textures looks like that pokemon below:
It happens to almost any game. Rocksmith has tendency to stretch some textures all over the screen, people in Rainbow Six: Vegas look the same as that pokemon, In portal 2 all characters are wireframes.
I've found out that there's a hotfix for that problem, but after installing it nothing helped, so...
Is there a possibility to fix this issue?
I'm running Win7 Pro x64
I recently recieved an Elitebook 9470m and want to use the ultraslim docking station with it. The computer has 1 VGA and 1 DisplayPort1.1a outputs as does the docking station.
Does this allow for 2 monitors to be connected and used at the same time via the docking station or can only one display used, either the VGA or the DisplayPort?
Hello,
I own a Probook 4510s Notebook - NA915EA, it's warranty is already expired.
The problem lies with the Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family [PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A42].
Whenever I do not install any driver for this part it works fine. The display resolution can be set to 1024x768, but I cannot connect a hdmi screen to it.
When I do install a graphics driver the following happens:
> I enable driver installation (gpedit.msc\Local Computer Policy\ Computer Config \ Administrative Settings \ System \ Device Installation \ Device Installation Restrictions \ Precent installation of devices not described by other policy settings -> Not Configured)
> I install the driver, WinSAT & Aero enabled.
> I disable driver installation to prevent windows from messing up
> I restart the Probook
> The Probook loads all drivers fine
> The welcome screen appears with black pixels all over the screen
> The welcome screen refreshes 3 times; every time the pixels are on a different place
> Blue Screen of Death

I hope there's someone out there with the solution
I have bought a HP DM1 (Windows 7, 4GB RAM, 320GB hard drive), and I am having trouble getting some games to display properly. These are games that have no widescreen support, so only output 4:3 resolutions. The problem is, the laptop displays the 4:3 resolution stretched across the widescreen display, when of course I want it to be output unstretched, with two black bars on the sides of the screen.
Where is the option to deselect screen-stretching? Is in it Windows 7, or a laptop (or the laptop's video driver) specific option? I've tried to find it, but have had no success, so if anyone can point me in the right direction then I'd be very grateful.
Thanks for any answers.
I have an HP elitebook 6930p and the LCD screen is so low you can not view the display. When I hooked up an external monitor I get a clear display. I thought it was my LCD. I just replaced LCD and get the same result....Elitebook display is hardly visible but external monitor is perfect.
I am afraid to order another part like system board and still not work.
any suggestions..thanks
This is driving me insane hope someone can help me with this problem after I run my laptop for a while could be 20 min could be 2 hrs mys display turns off, laptop is still running but no screen I try every button to try and recover it but nothing works please help
I have had my HP Pavilion G6 for a couple of years (Windows 7) and never bothered about the webcam until a couple of weks ago when I started using Skype. I had no problems so I decided to buy an up-market external USB webcam so I didn't have to carry the laptop about. The new cam works fine (I have ArcSoft drivers, or whatever they are) and I can display and record in ArcSoft Webcam Companion and Windows Movie Maker. However when I go to Skype the built-in camera is always selected. I thought I could go into Windows and turn it off there but when I display Devices and Printers only my USB webcam is shown. The ArcSoft software does detect the in-built cam and can switch cameras with no problems. Digging around the forum I find mentions of Cyberlink and Youcam but all I can find is an empty Youcam folder in my Documents library.
Any ideas out there please?
Tthanks

Hi,
I have had my envy 17t-1000 cto for about 2.5 years now. It's given me a lot of trouble, but I've been able to solve them all up until now. Of late, the screen has started going white at seemingly random times. I believe it is somehow linked to the graphics card, as it tends to do this more then im playing a game than just surfing the web or streaming videos (though it happens during both.)
The product number is VX197AV. I have done some simple troubleshooting myself. When the screen goes white, I have plugged it into an external monitor via hdmi. The external moniter works fine, while the laptop lcd continues to show white. I believe that it is possibly the display inverter, but I cannot find an item number or where to buy a replacement part. The parts list (http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?SearchText=VX197AV) does not show an inverter... though im sure the lcd has to have one. Where could I find this information?
Moving the screen back and forth does not make a difference; neither does tapping on the screen lightly. While writing this, its acting up a lot. It has started to flicker a lot lately. When it goes white and comes back to, it flickers white horizontal/vertcal lines for a couple senconds. It has also gone white for a few minutes, then goes black with a bright white light at the bottom that appears to pulse. When it goes black, closing and reopening the laptop seems to fix it if only momentarily.
I would love some help on this. Please let me know if I can do any more troubleshooting. I am happy to open the computer up (it's out of warrenty, and I have done this a few times to check to loose plugs etc). Hope to hear back!
i bought envyM6-1214tx on 25th august. On 25th only it there was a problem. whenever i move the screen of my laptop it gets shut. On 27th a person from hp came n refix my laptop. After refixing the problem got resolved but on 27th night only same problem started again. From morning i have been calling on customer care number but there is no response from there side. Its has only been 3 days i have bought my laptop and i want it to be replaced. My case number is 4708722082. Please try to solve my problem at the earliest.
Hello! I used to switch between my graphic cards ( Intel(R) HD Graphics and Radeon (TM) HD 6490M ) with the click of a button in Catalyst Control Center and i knew exactly which graphics card i was using. Now i can't do that, i can only assign different different application to each graphics card ( High Performance or Power Saving ). So what happens if i have opened two applications, one of which uses the Power Saving and the other uses High Performance. Which graphics card will i be using at that moment? I dont really understand how that works.
Hi there.
I have recently noted that my laptop is unable to play Second Life without almost causing a seizure.
There is a strobe effect in the game, where there shouldn't be one. The entire UI strobes. The ground strobes. My brain throbs.
I turned off the Basic Shaders. Oh good, the UI doesn't strobe. Just everything else still...
After I hit the Second Life forums, I was hit with "Update your graphics driver"
Well, I have the latest graphics driver from HP. It's old. Very old.
I am using the HP Pavillion g6-2215tx model which has an Intel HD4000 + ATI 7670M. The 7670 is more than capable of running Second Life. I know this cos my friend has a laptop with one. He also has the latest drivers. Second Life doesn't strobe for him.
Is there any drivers available that contain the 12.104 (latest at time of reading) ATI Display Driver? I tried updating through ATI, but it said I didn't have a card (Explain why BF3 runs so impeccably smooth then!), however I noted that Intel's driver updated happily.
If there is any drivers available that were released in the last 4 months that I can use (official or unofficial) I want to hear about them. I am pretty sore that I can't run Second Life. I don't have another laptop/PC that really can...
After an undetermined amount of time wherein all seems to be working just fine my HP Pavilion g7 Notebook PC becomes unusable because the screen itself goes white and flickers rapidly, causing me to literally shut it down using the power button. I have upgraded to Windows 8 Pro with Media Center 64-bit and installed all the latest drivers directly from either HP or AMD including the BIOS. Yet this issue persists and I am at a lost as to what proceedure I should perform next in order to resolve this ongoing irritating problem.
