Cant change my graphic card on my laptop

Hello all,

 

My laptop use the intel graphics at default and  I want to change it to my Radeon graphics. But when I right click on my desktop and click on the second option to change graphic card, nothing happens and no error message. The same goes for Catalyst control center. The devicemanager however detect both the graphic card and there is no error.

 

The thing I tried:

- Uninstall and installing CCC and Driver from radeon or amd website.

- Uninstall and installing CCC and driver from HP site.

 

My laptop is:  HP Pavilion 17-e010ed

 

I'm not a computer savy but I hope anyone can help.

I don't know if this is in the right board, but anyway, a little while ago I got tired of my brother using my laptop for his dirty skyping, so i disable my imaging devices, well I thought I did. Turns out I may have deleted it altogther which really sucks because I need to use my laptop camera for a project I'm doing. Any ideas on how to fix it or reinstall it?? 

I have a Pavilion dv6 laptop with HP TrueVision HD camera and it has Windows 7 on it. 

PLEASE HELP!! PROJECT HAS TO BE DONE LIKE TONIGHT!

I have an hp pavilion dv6. It was purchased at the end of 2010. My computer teens to get hot a little quicker than normal. It had overheated a couple times, but not recently.
I recently went on a road trip and when I got back my computer screen won't turn on. While I was away, I took the bottom plastic screen off and put it back on (one of the sides had come loose and a tab was sticking out). I also tightened all the screws on the main cover on the bottom because some had come loose.
When I got home and tried to turn my laptop on, the screen wouldn't turn on. I can hear the fan turn on. The light indicating the wifi was on, but showing that it was off- and it was on when I last used my computer. Also, the capslock light is blinking. I don't hear any sound from the speakers or anything like that. I tried hooking it up to a projector but never got a signal. I tried unplugging it and removing the battery and holding the power button for 30 seconds but nothing changed when I tried turning it back on.
Please help! I need this laptop for school-finals are coming up and I need a working laptop ASAP!

I got the HP Envy 15- j104na yesterday. After setting everything up I noticed that when I switched through web pages the brightness changed minutely on the display. Whenever I am on a dark or black website the screen dims and when I am on a white or light coloured website the screen gets brighter. It doesn't just apply to web pages either, the screen brightness changes depending on how bright the colours on the screen are.

 

Now the problem is that this is very noticible, it is not a subtle change and it is beginning to annoy me when I switch through web pages so much. I have tried absolutely everything to turn it off.

 

I have been through all of my power options, tried all of the default 3 settings, turned off adaptive brightness, changed the intel performance to perform the highest it can. All suggestions available online have not worked for me. 

 

I even contacted someone from HP on chat, we were talking for about half an hour and they took remote control of my PC to fix it for me. They downloaded loads of stuff, changed about 5 different options but none of it worked. Eventually I just gave up because I had things to do. The last option I was left with was to completely factory reset the laptop and since I only got it yesterday I don't see how that will help!

 

I'm very tired already, the laptop cost me a lot and I am already regretting buying it.

 

Is there a way to disable this feature or not. People working for HP don't even seem to know how to do it and I will probably turn to another brand if it can't be disabled.

 

TL;DR: My screen brightness changes automatically, on dark screens it dims and light screens it gets brighter. I do not like it, is there a way to disable it. I have already tried ALL suggestions online and contacted HP with no luck.

Hi,

 

Since I upgraded to windows 8.1 , my computer is runing much slower and I'm unable to play games as it looks like that my video card drivers are not good. 

To give you an example, I can't even watch match simulation on Football Manager 2015 since I upgraded to 8.1

Слетел драйвер видеокарты, после игры ( потом не устанавливается: устанавливают и процесс останавливается, когда идет анализ видеокарты и вся установочная программа слетает ( так же и с удаление... в растерянности, не знаю что делать

I have notebook HP 4540s  with amd radeon hd 7650m and Windows 7 Ultimete, and I can't find any drivers for this video adapter. This adapter don't work. What I must to do?

HI there,

My webcam is not working correctly.

I've tried uninstalling / reinstalling drivers which has led to the camera working for short periods of time, perhaps only a day or two, only to have it stop working - perhaps when drivers or windows 7 auto updates or similar.

 

At the moment I can't get it working at all, and cannot access the relevant pages on your website, even ones I have previously bookmarked, as they are no longer available it seems. I've tried to install the drivers sp52437, and the older sp51765 but they won't install : I get an error message saying that

Hello!

Video Drivers for this model are have not update since 2012!
When I try too update from default AMD CCC(WHQL), the computer does not detect the driver and the system is very slow. For me it is very important to update the CCC though, would be to version 13. Very grateful for any help or way of solving.

 I have one of my friend singing and I don't want to lose it.. I have a warrenty, should i just have a tech fix it remotely? My tech skills are just medium and I don't always understand nor know how to follow some tech explinations on here

 I have a HP Pavilion 17-e020us Notebook PC with Windows 8.1. Fairly new computer but now suddenly have green screen on my video's with no pictures.  I am not real tech savy. I can download drivers but if you try to tell me to change some system files or slow down acceleration, I have not been able to find the place to do that even though they tell you to go to a place on here to do it, I have never found it. Is this a virus or malware?  Hope to hear soon or I will have to call for support. I do have a warrenty on this.

Three days ago, I had been using this pc in the morning and it was working okay.  But when I turned it on in the afternoon, after about three seconds, it came on with about eleven inches of the right side of the screen black. The left four inches was a light gray.  There was a white line about a quarter inch wide running horizontally across the center of the screen. I turned it off and on several times and it came up with the same pattern    I turned it on later in the evening and it worked okay.  The next morning when I turned it on it came up in the problem state.  That evening when I turned it on, it worked okay.  I thought that there was something on the mother board getting ready to fail.  After about an hour, I was arranging some mp3 files in a folder when the screen abruptly switched to the problem state.  I tried hitting several keys out of frustration, including the enter key, then one of the mp3 files in the folder I was viewing started to play.  I turned it off and back on and the screen came up in the problem state.  This time I let it run   After the usual startup time, the fingerprint reader light came on.  I swiped my finger and after a short time the startup sound sounded.  This suggested to me that the problem is not the mother board but in either the display screen or the graphics card.  Since then, the problem has been occurring intermittently.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.   Does anyone have anys suggestons?

Hi,

I've had my HP Pavilion dv6000 for years. Recently I tried to turn it on. The HP logo shows up, along with the Windows Vista loading screen. It appears to start up as normal (all the blue lights are on and the laptop hums so it is on), but once it passes the loading screen, the screen goes black/only has the mouse showing. Nothing else happens, and if I leave it for too long then it just turns off by itself. 

I've seen heaps of posts saying to press ctrl-alt-dlt when starting up, and I've seen the ones that say to take out the battery and hold the power button. I've tried it all numerous times and the same thing keeps happening. 

At the very least, I just want to get back onto the laptop so I can transfer photos/important documents onto an external hard drive, but I can't even get to that stage. Is there something I can do, or is there some way I can even extract the hard drive and just get my files back?

My laptop is almost 3 years old, and few month ago i lost my radeon 6470m in system.

I have a windows 7 x64, so system see only Intel HD Graphics card and no radeon, what am i supposed to do?

I tried to update BIOS, update drivers - nothing changed.

Also my south bridge almost always 70 plus minus 3 degree celsius.

I bought this new HP laptop not long ago, and problems getting worst. When i turn on the laptop using it for awhile, the screen freezes (not all the time) with a 'zzzzzzzzzz' sound. It takes like forever and i dont know what to do. I tried to close the screen and open it up, press the power button and press whatever button it just dont work! The only thing i can do is to turn off the switch. Someone pls help me!

A few months ago, the motherboard of my EliteBook 8570w was replaced after problems with the video on my secundary screen. This problem is fixed but since then I have the following problem:

 

When my laptop is docked and I'm using a primary and secunday screen, the display is fine on both.

A nice sharp display.

 

However, when I undock and use the laptop screen (1920x1080) my desktop is still crisp sharp as expected but all applications look like they are on a different (lower) resolution. It looks like they are zoomed in but not only the content of the windows, also the titlebars and borders appear to be zoomed in or something.

Only the display of the Catalyst Control Center itself is looking good (together with the desktop and taskbar), all other windows are not.

 

Does anybody know if there is a setting that can cause this?
