I have a HP Pavillion g6 Notebook Product # C2N5OUA
When i plug in charging plug..the screen goes to screen saver mode reducing brightness and visibility but does charge..when i remove the charging plug, the screen goes back to normal visibility...Any help would be appreciated..Is there anything i can do online before bringing to a tech?
Hello i have a HP Pavilion dv7-6150eb with windows 7 , i just formatted my computer downloading every driver from your website and the latest Adobe Flash Player with the new IE11 and i have a problem with the videos i can hear them but not see them.
When i play a video i get a blank screen with sound and i can only see youtube videos but not facebook or internet videos.

media library continues to say its corrupt even after i ran though as admin and recreated the library, and also did a troubleshoot to fix repairs automatically but it still says but it still says media library corrupted. i also ran troubleshooting on media player settings and it tells me configuration settings might be set up incorrectly. can anyone help? 2 days ago i formated my laptop (hp pavillion dv6 6060ep, with 6gb ram, windows 7 64 bits, and a graphic AMD Radeon HD 6700M series, and i installed all drivers as usuall..
but i cannot install the amd driver. i tried all sugestions in other forums, i reinstalled and installed drivers, and i cannot solve problem, i keep having a error saying:
'AMD Catalyst Center cannot be started.
There are currently no settings that can be configured using AMD Catalyst Control Center'
i updated all windows updates, has sugested in a forum and nothing.. i have tried too updating bios and netframe. and nothing worked..

My hp won't show videos but will play the audio. How do I fix this? Youtube videos are green screens and personal videos are black. Everything has audio, but nothing will visually appear.

i have a probook 4530s (i5) laptop and recently i encountered a problem with graphics.
after installing a fresh copy of windows 7 x64, i installed lates driver for graphics (sp55947) but after a reset, windows won't pass the first "starting windows" page unless i go to bios setting and uncheck "switchable graphics" option,
but after that i dont have the radeon 6490m in my device manager anymore. i also tried the latest update for bios but no success with the problem..
i hope you can help me..
I have an HP Pavillion 6775 notebook. The screen went black and stayed that way so I did a reboot in hopes of it coming back on, but when it came back I have multiple windows.....three on one side with a black bar running down the middle and three windows on the other side. I used the recovery disc but it's still the same. Can anyone suggest a fix that I can do before going into repair. Thanks

I own a Compaq CQ62-410US laptop with a Intel GMA 4500M video card (onboard) and a VGA-out port, OS Windows 7 x64. Few weeks back the screen was broken (direct punch from a kid) and nothing could be output through the VGA-out either, but the laptop booted and I could hear Windows 7 logon sound. I never checked before the VGA-out port.
Yesterday I replaced the broken screen with and identical one. The display work fine (full screen) when in Dos (boot from USB Flash and Sea + test images) but in Windows 7 two vertical black bands appeared on the sides due to lower than native resolution. The resolution cannot be changed to native 1366x768 in "Screen Resolution" because the display is set by default to "Multiple Monitors" (I have no other monitor connected, only built-in display) and "Clone display".The built-in display is set as secondary, and "Generic non-PnP" is set as primary. Any attempt to set the built-in display as Primary or to change the mode to "Single Display"/"Extend display" leads to black screen with the backlight still on, no matter where I change the settings - in "Screen Resolution" or in "Graphic Properties" (from Intel driver). In "Screen Resolution" window the pictogram of displays show a single display split in half, and when I press the button "Identify" it shows on screen "1|2", like te left half of the display is the primary display and the right half is the secondary display.
I put a Philips monitor to the VGA port, Windows detects it and install the correct driver but there's no image no matter of what mode I set - Clone, Extend, Single Display - Monitor.
I tested the 3 display drivers from Compaq site for my device and the GMA 4500M driver from Intel but the problem is the same (with the drivers from intel site I get only black screen with backlight on. The drivers are unstable, sometimes at the logon page is only a black screen (but before that the windows loading screen display fine) that cannot be changed by "Fn+F4"/"F4" (change display) but to a black with the backlight turned off.
Due to the harddisk replacement I cannot use factory-installed operating system restore.
Please advise me how to fix the display issue and to enable the VGA port (obtain image on external monitor).

I an using said laptop since last 2 year. but last day i have updated my intel managment utility driver after that during start up my screen turn blue with an error messege and pc does not run. after uninstall the graphics driver pc run well as well as in safe mode.I have tried to upgrade my display driver but same error occurerd. I have tried to install driver through amd update utility but it does not detect display driver.plz give a solution to above said problem and send link for suitable display driver for my laptop. i have already rool back my laptop but nothing is happening positive.

Update: I booted a live Knoppix CD and I found no issues - single display setup at 1366x768; I could even play a 3D game (OpenGL). When hooking a monitor to VGA port it was detected, but when trying to output image to it the OS hanged. I suppose it's a hardware problem, something to do with the video controller.
I gotta HP Envy laptop with 8GB ram and with Intel(R) HD Graphics 4400 and when I checked my laptop's video adapter info I found my laptop's total grphics memory is 1792MB but Video Memory is 0MB. Im just wondering how to increase my video graphics memory. Any help would be higly appriciated.

Less than two years ago I bought an HP Pavillion g7 notebook with cooler and had no problems until a few months ago, when I received an e mail notifiying me of a very important recall. Turns out the power cord leading to the transformer was too short and could cause a fire hazard. I kept my computer cool with cooling pads and dustiing, but I noticed the transformer was hot to the touch. I was worried about a fire hazard, when you sent me the recall notice. Around Halloween I noticed my Monitor was starting up in a Red default color.The video quality had diminished and I could see the pixels. It started affecting the performance of my machine. After replacing the recalled cord my monitor is unusable with a Red tinge to all the colors. I bought my unit at Best Buy in Orange on Chapman Ave. I've only had the unit for two years and already you had to recall a part because of fire hazard. I think it blew out my monitor. I expect HP to take care of this, since it was a defect. Thank you, (Personal information removed) I expect HP to replace all parts that were affected by this defect recall for NO charge.
