webcam drivers for HP Pavilion DV 6426US

Hello, a friend of mine recently reinstalled a HP Pavilion DV6426US notebook with Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 32 bits - the problem is the webcam not being recognized. It is not even listed in Device Manager. All other devices are recognized and working perfectly.

The webcam is operational because It was working before my friend reinstalled the operating system from scratch.

I tried to find the right driver in HP`s website but this model is not supported by Windows 7 - it seems it was designed for Windows Vista only.

The operating system has been updated with the latest drivers and patches, but the webcam is not detected/shown/recognized.

Any help would be appreciated - I googled for any possible solution, to no avail.

Envy 15t 3200 blue screen after graphics install

Hi everyone,

I'm an IT professional working on a client's HP Envy 15t-3200 notebook PC (Win 7 x64, Intel i7, AMD 7700 series)

He said (he thinks) after installing a recent windows update, it started blue screening on him with a graphics error.

He restored his PC to factory install, and it was working fine until he installed windows updates and the graphics drivers again, receiving the same blue screen graphics error.

I picked up his laptop. I installed a slipstream of windows 7 that I created. Everything worked fine - as soon as I installed his graphics drivers.

First, I had installed the AMD drivers (from AMD, not HP). I thought everything was working fine, until I checked the device manager and saw that the AMD graphics were being disabled, and the laptop was reverting to the generic graphics driver. I also tried the older driver offered on HPs support page.

I uninstalled the AMD graphics, and installed the Intel graphics. As soon as they were installed, upon restarting I received the same original blue screen error and had to result in booting to safe mode and performing system restore.

When I install the AMD graphics without installing Intel graphics, it reverts itself to Generic graphics. The AMD graphics adapter shows a Code 43 in the device manager, stating that the device has stopped working because it has reported problems.

I played around with different versions of AMD graphics which did not resolve the issue, and I installed different versions of the Intel graphics, which still caused a blue screen.

The PC is working ONLY with the generic graphics drivers, which doesn't work for what my client wants to be able to do (gaming).

I found this - http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c04121863&tmp_task=solveCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&lc=en&product=5278243

on the troubleshooting page for this notebook, and tried using this solution which also did not resolve the issue.

I've checked temperatures of the laptop and nothing is anywhere near overheating.

I don't know what else to try. My client said he will live with it and just not use it for gaming anymore, but that is not good enough for me - I've offered to continue finding a resolution for him free of charge.

Any help would be very appreciated, this is extremely annoying :smileyfrustrated:

hi, my notebook display keep turning between full screen and normal screen again and again. I can't run any browser, not even windows explorer. I reinstalled windows 7 and all drivers because of it. But the problem is still on. I thought it could be my keyboard's problem since f11 keys is responsible for fullscreen. So I used a external one but no light on solution. Please help on this issue. I couldn't do any work in this. My laptop model is hp probook 4740s. thanks

Dual Monitor Problem - Elitebook 840 and Ultraslim docking station

$

My company just provided us with new 840 notebooks and the ultraslim docking station.  I have two monitors that hook up to the dock:  one via VGA that works fine and the other via a DisplayPort cable which has problems with refreshing the screen contents.  Here are my troubleshooting steps:

1)  I have updated ALL drivers including the ADT display, Intel Graphics and the Ultraslim docking station to the drivers recommended on the HP site for the 840 notebook.  This did not resolve the issue.

2)  I then undocked the machine and hooked up both monitors to the ports on the notebook and both monitors work fine.  This eliminates driver issues and also issues with the graphics card on the notebook.

3)  I redocked the notebook and hooked up only the VGA cable to the docking station leaving the DisplayPort cable hooked up to the notebook and both monitors work fine.  This eliminates issues with the DVI cable.

4)  I switched out the DisplayPort cable and used a VGA cable on the same monitor and the monitor works fine.  This eliminates issues with the monitor.

Given the above, this is obviously a problem with the DisplayPort ports on the docking station and/or the firmware on the docking station.  Since I've updated the firmware for the docking station (currently set at version 2.24 from 10/30/2014), I'm not sure what else to try.  I can't update the BIOS on the notebook because it is locked down by my company's administrator - but if both monitors work when plugged directly into the laptop, I don't believe the BIOS on the notebook is the problem.

I can see various posts regarding issues with dual display on this docking station dating all the way back to January 2014.  So, this isn't a new problem - just new to me as my old HP 8540p had no issue with this setup (sometimes newer is not necessarily better).  However, will there ever be a solution by HP?  I'll call Vegas to get the odds on that.
