webcam connection
I have an HP Envy notebook with Windows 7. It has a centre top of screen TrueVision HD integrate camera fitted at manufacture. When I open the CyberLinkYouCam icon in the desktop taskbar, it opens the page, but leaves a yellow warning triangle on the screen with the following message:
"No webcam detected. Try plugging a webcam into your computer now. If you have an integrated webcam, make sure that it is turned on".
I checked the driver and it says that it is OK.
One time today when I tried it, it came on for 5 seconds showing myself live onscreen, but it disappeared and the message returned.
Any ideas?

HP envy Dv6 charging and Gaming issues
I recently purchased a HP Envy Dv6T Quad edition for college. It has the Nvidia GEFORCE GT graphics card and a 9 cell battery. I was excited because I didn't have the money to buy an Xbox to bring to college, so i was going to do my gaming on my new laptop. However, when i downloaded Skyrim and tried playing it while connected to the AC power adapter, my computer crashed the game and told me that the AC adapter wasn't strong enough to support a high intensity task like running the game. It then offered me a link to the website to purchase a better adapter, but after a thorough investigation of the website, there were no AC adapters better than the one I am currently using. Is there a way to solve this? It seems stupid that I can't play a game when plugged into a power source, even on the lowest graphics settings!! Given the high power demand of playing the game, playing it when i'm not connected to a power source limits me to an hour or two at the max. Is there a way to fix this?

g60 won't come read new operating system
Hvae a g60 laptop. Replaced the hard drive with new seagate 500mg. Trying to get recovery disk to bring up computer but no luck. DVD player reads disk but then just stops. no messages or anything on laptop screen.Blank. Doesn't look like laptop even tries to read new hard drive either. What gives?

Dv7-3079wm still displays fine vertical lines in lcd.
Hello Everyone, I repair PC's on the side and need some advice on this thorny issue. I have a dv7-3079wm laptop that was brought to me with no power up. I ended up replacing the motherboard and lcd to fix the issues. The lcd has been replaced three times, with the last two times from different vendors. The display has fine vertical lines in it, and of course is hard to read. I also replace the lcd cable from the motherboard to the lcd with no change. The driver and bios are updated, and the display on an external monitor works fine. The bios version is F 15 and I have the Catalyst Control center installed with 1600x900 resolution. The fine vertical lines even show in the bios screen. Can anyone shed light on this knotty issue?

Cannot play .mov files, HP Pavilion Sleekbook 14-b005sa, Windows 8
My HP Pavilion Sleekbook 14-b005sa is about 8/9 months old. Today it just stopped playing .mov files on any program. There was no problem before. I got this error message on the video app:
The photos app, which played the files perfectly before today, now just tells me it can't play files of this type. I have done every update I could find via the HP Support Assistant but there is no difference.
I'm not sure if it's related but in the last few weeks I have often had trouble getting the sound on Youtube type sites to work. It would take 5 or so refreshes of the page to get the sound to come in.
I googled the error numbers on that message and I got the impression that this is a common bug in Windows 8?

I got a problem in HP mini110-4112tu model. when i turn on that netbook at morning its screen start flickring but its stay very short time.

Last few days, I face blue screen pbrlm, I switched off my PC directly b'cos I have no another option and again again boot with normal boot option than again I faace blue screen pbrlm with running autocad 2010. Again I repeat this proccess, but my lappy started without display.
Can u pls solve my pbrlm, how can I get back again that display.

dv6000 no video from screen or external monitor
This is extremely frustrating. I just got this computer from a friend. not two days after i got it the screen went black. I figured it may have just been a bad screen or cable, so i hooked it up to the external monitor. But this was to no avail. I fear i may be out of a laptop once again. My last laptop died on me shortly before now. Seems like Compaq and HP just dont like me. /: Could anyone give me detailed information about motherboard/chipset problems? I noticed this model uses the infamous NVidia graphics chip. Which worries me. I cant tell you how many laptops ive seen go into the trash because of NVidia. But as I said, any information will be greatly appreciated.

Compaq CQ61-411WM Blank screen on startup
I have been having this problem with my laptop for a while now. It started out doing the blank screen but after a few attempts it would fix itself but now it just sits with a black screen with the caps and num lights flashing. Please help. Windows 7 64-bit.

My HP laptop LCD screen has gone very dark and hard to see
I have a HP Pavilion laptop, I'm not sure which model because I've never really checked. Last night it was working fine and I closed t before I went to sleep. I remember it got stiff while I tried to close it at one point, but I just presse harder and it closed. This morning I have woke up and tried to turn it on, and it resumed to my locked account, but the screen is very dim and hard to see. I can see it a little better when I shine light on it, which according to my research is what happens when the inverter breaks. My screen is only a few months old but my laptop is almost 3 years old. The hinges broke a few months ago so I had to get them, the battery and LCD screen replaced. I'm not sure what I should do about this because my laptop repair cover won't repair my laptop because they said the last time it broke that they won't fix it because they thought the damage was neglect, which is wasn't. I had to get it fixed by this repair guy who tools weeks to get the parts in and further weeks to fix it, which was frustrating. I won't be going to him again. Is it he inverter? Can I just go to a repair shop and will they fix it? How much will it cost and how long will it take. Thank you.

Dark circles (about 10) on top edge of G7 Pav
Came from work and turned on Pav G7 from sleep mode. First there were three light dark circles on top right edge - about size of a penny. Then within few hours, the number have gone to about 10 across top edge. This is only a 8 month old computer and is very GENTLY used.
Any ideas to solve this before I ask for warranty service as it is still within one year warranty period?

Amd 13.8 beta driver showing a 7450m card as 6400m series
hello i have a hp g6-1302tx laptop it has a amd 7450+intel hd 3000, My problem is when i install the 13.8 beta driver CCC it shows my graphic card 6400m series but my actual graphic card is 7450m 1 gb i am a little confused about using the driver or not and the driver does not change in the dxdiag is showing the intel+amd driver only version 8.882.2.0 and the beta driver version is 13.10 something pls help thanks in advance for any help

HP G62-448CA Notebook PC is experiecning brightness problems?
I've had my Hp Notebook PC for about two years now and about a month ago by brightness keys stopped working. I tried restarting my laptop and updating it but it didn't help at all so I tried a force restart which also did nothing. I went online to find a solution which told me to try using Hp Remote Assistance to fix the problem. After that didn't work I went to my Control Pannel and changed the power settings to full brightness. That worked for a while until one day the brightness settings just dissapeared? I searched everywhere on my laptop for it and ran a Trouble Shooting session but it couldn't detect any problems. After the brightness settings dissapeared though, my laptop started displaing random brightnesses at random times, usually swapping from fully bright to fully dim and vice-versa once I close the lid and reopen it. So basically my brightness keys are not working, my brightness settings are missing and my laptop is randomly displaying brighnesses.

Ok I play alot of games on my old laptop but, I got this I never played games on it so I just started and every game I play from steam is laggy the frame rates are horrible I will be lucky if I can play at 12 fps so is there a way to fix this or not
Oh and my old laptop was a dell insiron I got in like 2007 with i3 proccesor
I play games like saint rows batman and league of legends all laggy

Trying to connect my TV to Laptop via HDMI
Hi, I recently bought a HP G6 2298sa and tried to connect it via hdmi cable to my Bush 32" HD LCD TV but only receive a "no signal" message. Could someone please point me in the right direction to solve this issue?
Few notes: The laptop runs Windows 8 and I have tried the F4 button.

dv6-7222nr Display problem
I have a HP Envy dv6-7222nr and I've had it for a couple of months now. The computer turns on but a black screen remains. When I connect it to my TV via HDMI then I can see everything I'm doing (such as typing this message)
