Disabling overscan when using HDMI cable

So for a while now I've been using my laptop while it's plugged into my tv. But the parts of the screen are cut off (the top, left, right and bottom, which doesn't make sense since there is no reason to cut off all sides) I've seen guides telling you how to disable the overscan in the video card settings or in regedit but the thing is, I HAVE NO VIDEO CARD. The guides online assume you have one, but I don't my laptop is as plain as it gets. How can I disable the overscan (if possible)?

 

I have searched through my tv's settings but have found nohting even remotely related to overscan settings.

 

I have a hp pavilion 15-n221sa running windows 8.1 and I'm trying to get the display to work on a samsung le46b650 tv.

Hi!

 

I have a HP Pavilion DV6-6112sg, and I would like to update all of it's drivers, but I'm very bad with it (2 days ago I tried to update the audio driver, and I had to reinstall the system, because I couldn't get the sound back...)

 

I found this part of the site http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&tmp_geoLoc=true&product=4121236 (it's just a random laptop, a random example) but I can't find my laptop here. The closest one was 6112nr (or something like that).

 

Can someone help me with updating every driver on this laptop?

Hello people,

 

I use my notebook for video editing while i'm not at home and also for some light gaming, i just figured out that my OpenGL applications don't actually run on the main GPU (Which is an AMD Radeon 6470M), but they run on the integrated one (Intel HD Graphics 3000). I actually followed the guide on this forum which comprends the g6-12xx series http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Display-and-Video/Official-HP-statement-on-Switchable-Graphics-and-Open-GL/td-p/766285

I checked every bios version from the F.41 (as it says "F.41 or later" to get the switchable graphics option) to the F.66 which is the one I'm running on now. I also updated both AMD and the Intel drivers to the last version.

I am trying to hook my EliteBook 8560w to my TV and just realized I don't have a HDMI port? 

 

How do I use the VGA port and what kind of cable do I need and/or how do I use my TV as a dual monitor?

My new HP notebook 15-r004ne ( One week old ) with windows 8.1 64 bit has a peculiar problem with the screen.

 

When ever I turns on the system after normal shutdown, screen remains black or blank after hp logo. But I can see HDD LED

blinking and CAPS lock button working.

 

Every time system works normal without any problem after a forceful shutdown by pressing the powerbutton for 3 secs.

 

How do I fix this problem.

I just recently got a new display put into my laptop and I cannot change the color to a useable setting.  Where can I change contrast and color gamma?

Well the problem I'm having is that my laptop screen has gone crazy. It show a lot of random stuff on the screen. Even just after booting and not even loading Windows. At first it used to only do this when I was playing games. Then it kept on getting worst and I kept on getting a message say that my graphics card recovered from an error. Really have no idea what's going on. A variation of this is what I see after I power on the laptop.

My webcam stopped working. I can't find a driver for it in Windows 7 Control Panel Device Manager. Cyberlink YouCam says no webcam detected.

The most recent drivers for my gpu are these (HP Pavilion dv7-6135dx Entertainment Notebook PC):

 

AMD Mobility Radeon™ Driver 14.4 4/24/2014 - from AMD.

 

Intel references HP as the source for thier drivers, but the unit is Mobile Intel(R) HD Graphics

 

The drivers i currently use are the HP ones dated 2011, version 8.830.6.1000 (Intel) and 9.2.0.0 (AMD).

 

I cannot get anything beyond those versions. If i try to upgrade AMD drivers they will not load. Switchable Graphics do not work. The only drivers working properly are the 2011 drivers.

 

I have been through the "solved" posts here and the solutions did not work (and they didn't work for the people who posted them either - they just gave up). The question is, is there a way to install the most recent drvers - NOT THE OLD HP DRIVERS - and still have Switchable Graphics and all functionality as normal?

 

Can you give a SOLUTION and not walk through known steps that do not work? We do not need to check the device manager, or the bios - we need to install the latest drivers and have them work. We do not need to experiment with installing drivers either - that was done in the other posts and does not work. If HP has made a configuratio that will oly accept the old drivers and cannot upgrade, just tell us, don't waste our time,  (be straight forward) and lets go from there. Thanks.

hi,

i am a pavilion dv3 user and recently updated my laptop with window 7.

and after that, some function keys stopped working so i can't reduce the brightness of my laptop which is very annoying.

i had to work on my laptop with brightness at its maximum level and it hurts my eyes, and i couldn't find any other ways to reduce the brightness without the function keys.

and also, the mouse keeps clicking random things when im typing.

i would like to get my function keys working again and if possible, stop the mouse clicking random things that i didnt click.

I can make skype calls and see callers, but they cannot see me

I was recently requested to update Cyberlink Youcam, which seems to have taken over from the internal HP webcam.101

and if I go to Skype Visual settings Youcam is shown and it says to switch internal camera on, but no instructions on how to do this

Should I uninstall Cyberlink Youcam, and will this then default to HP webcam.101

I recently purchased HP 15 R006TU Note book PC and installed Windows 7 Professional  32 bit on it. I installed all the recommended drivers for VGA but still find it difficult to run You cam on it and recieve an error message "You do not have compatible VGA hardware or drivers to run you cam". please suggest me the exact drivers to run you cam.

HP Envy model 6-1010ea has a weak hinge which has now also affected the screen.

I see that this is a common problem.

Envy 15t with Intel Quad processor and Intel HD graphics cannot display SD web cams and some games ex(world of warplanes) need an update to make display somewhat backwards compatable I am locked out from INTEL"s newer drivers I can only download HP"s
