I've recently upgraded by Pavilion g6 notebook to Win 8.1 and can't get the web cam to work at all.
Is anyone aware of any progress since the last posts on this subject in April 2014 on getting a Win 8.1 version of the web cam drivers for this notebook??

I am using compaq presario f700 laptop it has a problem when i turn on it starts normally its work properly but after a few minutes on display horizontal lines covers up all. when laptos get warmed up this kinds of problem accure after a computer get cool and turn it on display shows normal view and again same problem accure please help me what is going on with my laptop
Hi, I've a HP ENVY 17-j009el bought 4 months ago. Yesterday I've noted a living bug crawling INSIDE my display video.
Now, insect is dead and a 1 mm dot remain in the display.
Considering that I've read similar question on HP laptops,
my question is: warranty cover this defect? In other words, I can understand that insect is not responsability of HP, but give to the insects the possibility of entry into a LCD is a defect of costruction?

Recently I changed 3 GPUs to 3 same HP laptops 6735s but now laptops won't start because of same problem. Laptop starts, screen blink, then Caps Lock blink one time fast, fan starts in the begining low RPM then get higher and that's it. When I touch back side of the motherboard CPU and GPU are normal hot, that mean they work, but screen don't start... no sound too. What can be the reason of this? I have experience with electronics and changing chips.

After keeping it on for sometime and restarting display works properly
Do I have to change complete display or it just cable connection issue

I'm currently experiencing a problem on two different laptops.
One is a Elitedesk 8540W and the other is a SpectreXT Pro 13. Both of these laptops are unable to render the video part of video files (tried avi, mpeg, mp4). Using windows media player, I'll get a general codec error saying the file couldn,t be played. Using VLC, the audio can be heard, but the video only displays a black screen. Videos have been tested and proven non-corrupt/playable on other computers. Video drivers are up to date on both laptop. One unusual thing that happens with vlc is that when starting a video, the windows color scheme changes to basic.
Additionnal infos that may or may not reveal useful:
Both laptops are on win7, linked to an AD domain.

i am not being able to change graphic setting from POWER SAVING to HIGH PERFORMANCE in HP 450 G0 base model through SWITCHABLE GRAPHICS APPLICATION SETTING in some applications ( including all video players).It is by default POWER SAVING and it is LOCKED too so that i could not change it.It says TO ENSURE COMPATIBILITY.THIS APPLICATION IS LOCKED.Can you please help me?????
Have a HP pavilion 17 laptop that I brought in June 2013. It came with Windows 8 but I now have Windows 8.1 on it.
When I put dvd in to play only hear sound no video is seen.

I just received a refurbished HP ENVY TouchSmart m6-k125dx Sleekbook. I can't set a resolution higher than 1366 x 768 though according to specs the native resolution is 1920 x 1080. I updated the Intel HD graphic driver and the BIOS but that did not help. Did HP possibly reinstall a wrong display as part of the refurbish?
I am working on this laptop that was working fine last week. Now it will not display, no post beep and the caps lock button blinks constantly every 3 seconds. What can I check?

I have to change the whole assembly but i want to change it for a non-touchscreen assembly because it's less expensive.
Can i install a non-touchscreen assembly (for model 4-1115dx) on my touchscreen laptop (model 4-1195ca) for example ?

I have got HP Pavilion x360 11-n000ea. It's brand new and from the first day there is a staraight line on the back side of the monitor only visible when monitor is on.
It's located about 1 cm from the edge. Not sure if I should take it back to the shop or its a common thing?
