How do I get my laptop screen to stay "on." It goes to black (but still on) and I cannot get the screen to turn on at all. I have tried the fn + F4 key, space bar, etc. Nothing works. Is there some setting I need to change so that laptop stays on if laptop is open. Thanks

Touch Screen
Just purchased an HP ENVY TouchSmart Notebook running Windows 8.1 and the touch screen does not work. When I look in PC settings it says "No pen or touch input available for this display"... Don't see how this is possible when I bought this computer specifically for the touch screen and I can't find any way to enable it... HELP I'm extremely frustrated!!!

Graphical Glitches in OpenGL games like Minecraft on 4600 card
Hello I have an envy15 i7 with intel hd 4600 graphics. The problem is when playing a game like Minecraft, I get a strange graphics glitch where there is random flickering, short term x ray, failures to load chunks, and glitched menues. I went and downloaded the latest drivers and the problem still occurs. There is minimum lag, and the frame rate seems fine, steady around 40. The screen will flash brighter, and items will flicker so it does get annoying after a while.

Radeon 6770M Display Driver has stopped responding
Hi, I've had this laptop for over 3 years now and it hasn't had a single problem, but one day I saw that one of my games was lagging, the frames had dropped by over 30. I restarted many times, cancelled programmes and it still didn't change, so I decided to update the driver, which I did without following any tutorials. This was silly of me and very obnoxious but after I did that the entire driver has dissappeared and now I can barely play games with my Intel HD graphics. What do I do now? If I format my computer will the driver go back to it's old self? Or do I install another driver?

HP m6-k025dx graphics issues after 8.1 update
ok guys, so i updated to windows 8.1, and i thought i had all the stuff hp recommended, but i guess not because after the update, for some reason my graphics are acting funny. when i plug and unplug my laptop, the screen goes black for a second, like it has to think about being plugged in. also, when i use windows explorer, like the recycle bin and stuff like that it buggs out really bad and closes all windows explorer windows.
what could be causing this? could i not have up to date drivers? i tried messing with graphic options, and updating the drivers, but to no avail... any advice, at all;perhaps direct me where i may have made an error, or where i can get new drivers that work with 8.1 or something? pleas, its really annoying and i just want it fixed.

Screen display too large for Monitor
I have an HP Pavilion G-7 1000 series laptop. After closing a program, all of a sudden my screen display is now too large for the attached monitor. The display is running over at the bottom and off to the right, but do not have any scroll bars to manuver around with.
I've tried attempting to adjust the resolution to no avial. I have also ensured the zoom is at 0% (won't go any smaller, but can make it larger). I've tried rebooting several times, including in safe mode and have also tried a driver update.
Any ideas as to what is going on?

HP pavilion 15 problem switching amd graphics card
HP pavilion 15 with AMD radeon 8670M
I tried to switch from dual graphics card to singleAMD graphics card, at the switchable graphics menu.
Switched to high performance at some games, but I still can't run the game at high settings, and even low settings are too high, the game is still a bit slow . i have downloaded the newest bios f 14 but there was no switchable graphics mode.

HP ENVY 17t Quad TouchSmart HDMI-VGA problem
I have a Viewsonic VP191b screen which I have used with my other laptop in a vertical position for my work. I purchased the HP HDMI to VGA converter. The Viewsonic is 1080 x 1240. The Envy screen is 1920 x 1080. In the vertial position, with the appropriate driver, it is 1280 x 1024.
First, I find that if I use the dual-monitor extended display option, it messes up my laptop screen, limiting it to 1024 x 1280. So I lose nearly 70% of my monitor space. Second, it will not allow for individual monitor detection. I need independent extended display. I need the second monitor in vertical position.
This is extremely serious to me. I need BOTH screens for my work. If this is not resolvable, my purchase of these HP products was a waste.

Can't change screen brightness
Hello I have the Pavilion 15-n228us. Earlier today I was using the notebook and I went to lower the brightness by using the f2 key but the slider wouldn't move and brightness wouldn't change. So I clicked on the battery icon on the tray and clicked 'adjust screen brightness' and moved the brightness slider at the bottom of the window but it still doesn't change. I cannot control my screen brightness at all. Sometimes it gets a little brighter and a little dimmer by itself. I've had this notebook for less than 1 month. I updated the display driver last week and the brightness control worked fine so I don't think it is that and YES I'vr turned it off and on and nothing. What can I do?

And what is the difference between a customised driver and a generic driver?? will i face any technical trouble by installing a generic driver when i already have a customised driver of my graphics in my laptop???
The following message is being displayed on the intel website when i am going to download the latest version of intel hd graphics 4000 :- "A customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer. The Intel Driver Update Utility is not able to update the driver. Installing a generic Intel driver instead of the customized computer manufacturer driver may cause technical issues. Contact your computer manufacturer for the latest driver for your computer."

Not the typical HDMI to Tv issue
I've had my HP G60 128 CA hooked up to my toshiba hd Tv for awhile now and everything worked great.
Last week I updated the drivers and shut down completely (as apposed to just sleep has I have been for the past whlie). I went to use it today as it's nor working at all. The tv displays no signal. But when i try the blursy player in eqch port on the tv it works fine. I tried different cables and different ports. Same result. The nvidia control panel accepts that the tv and the lap top are connected. It even shows the tv listed as a component. When I disconnect the cables, from laptop or from the tv, that laptop makes the disconnected/ connected alert sound. I then restored the tv to factory settings still no change. The most aggravating part is the computer is acknowledging the tv is there, but the tv isn't with the laptop. (but will with any other HDMI item I have)
I spent the day conversing with nvidia back and forth and did a bunch of trouble shooting
Various things that left everythin the same way.
They've said that the HDMI port maybe defective (out of the blue???) is there anything else I can check.?
I
don't have access to trying it on another tv, but i will tomorrow so that will cancel out the tv I anticipate.
What's next?
My daughter waiting to watch the my little pony Netflix shows is greatly appreciated of any help LOL

Display is black

I have HP G32 Notebook PC 301-TX purchased from Singapore and i am presently at Bangalore, India. The problem with it is the screen is totally black. i tried hard reset, but no use. when it is connected to external monitor, its working. there is no support for this product in India. So i would like your help in resolving this.

I can't change brightness using by hot-keys (fn+[f9/f10]) I am using Probook-450 G1
Hi i brought a new Probook-450 G1 and i am trying to adjust brightness by using hot key fn+f9 and fn+10 but it's not working but i can change sound to use the key [fn+f6 and fn+f7] also i am with few problem i can't scroll page from touch pad, can anybody help me for that please.

11-n007TU - Duplicate Display Resolution
Hi,
Display resolution from n007TU to my monitor (23") works well except for Duplicate function. Size of screen projected on my monitor seems to have strunk to around 15". Tried adjusting the resolution on both laptop and monitor but both didn't work, would appreciate if someone could advise.

HP 530 - Display turns off when booting into anything
Hi,
I have an HP 530. When booting Windows 7, it gets to the Windows Splash Screen then the display turns off. All LEDs remain on as well as the fans. The problem continues to follow me whatever I boot from. I have tried to boot from Windows 7 Install as well as Hiren's boot CD, both doing the same thing. There is no cursor on the screen.
I have tried the following -
Reseated RAM/Ran onboard mem test
Ran HDD test
Connected to external monitor
Safe Mode (Whatever option I select, the display turns off as well).
Is this a motherboard fault?

Video display using 2005 pr
Hi
I have tried instaling Port replicator 2005 pr on a Probook 470 g1, however upon installing the drivers for it the screeen goes black once logged in. If you hit ctrl, alt & delete you can then see the options and if you log off you can see the login screen.
The same thing happens if you install the latest drivers from the website
Using a different diver i have managed to get everything working through the PR other than video on a 2nd screen which works if you put the VGA lead directly into the laptop.
