Videos freeze and will not play when connect HP Envy to Dell Monitor
Hi again, I bought a Dell monitor U2414H to connect to my HP Envy to make it easier using InDesign and also watching my course and You Tube videos on bigger screen. This media plays fine on my laptop but as soon as I connect to the monitor the video will either freeze or in the case of you tube gives me an error message. It makes no difference if I'm already connected to the monitor or if I connect after I've started to play the videos on laptop. I have the screens connected via an HDMI cable. Everything else works fine - emal, writing her to you, google searches etc.

I've got an HP ZBook 15 G2 laptop, with a PS/2 mouse (actually a trackball), and of coure it has also a touchpad. I've got a problem of the same kind as this thread is about . The touchpad is internally a PS/2 device, which is why I get the same problem with that, as with the touchpad.
Problem: I can't use a specific Adobe shortcut for grabbing and panning documents in their desktop applications (latest versions), such as InDesign CC and Photoshop CC. The shortcut is to hold down space bar while grabbing (holding down left button) and panning the document (moving the mouse pointer).
But the hand tool doesn't "grab" when I press the left mouse/touchpad button.
* On my previous computer, another, older HP with Windows 7 this was not a problem.
* Using a USB mouse there is no such problem.
Now I uninstalled the drivers completely, and tried without them, (no network access, after uninstalling, all "gestures" were gone, couldn't scroll using two fingers etc) but the "hand" shortcut in InDesign didn't grab anyway... with no Synaptic drivers at all!
I also installed the 17.0.18.8 drivers according to your instructions, and set the Smartsense slider to off, but no difference.
We've got this problem on two different HP ZBooks at my work place (one G3 and one G2) and I also had another HP user, whom I don't know in person, to try this on the Adobe forum, and he could confirm the behaviour on his HP laptop with Windows 10: https://forums.adobe.com/message/10693711#10693711
I don't know what to do with this. I wish to use my trackball, and also think that it ought to be possible to make the touchpad work. We opened a guearantee issue with Swedish HP support but they were not familiar with the problem and closed the case, wouldn't help us since they did not know how – even though there is guarantee left and we can't use a very common shortcut in a InDesign and Photoshop.
Can you help me?

Connecting a MS Surface Pen to a HP X360 Convertible lap top
I have a HP X360 Convertible lap top, which has a touch screen, I have just bought a Microsoft Surface pen, it connects to the machine by bluetooth, but then wont work on the touch screen, its a windows 10 machine which is just under a year old with a 13" screen, I'm really disapointed as I bought a good pen and thought it would be a great addition to my machine, but at the minute it feels like I might be putting it on e-bay!!! Any thoughts?

HP envy 17 broken hinge
So I had the same issue with my HP envy 17 that many had in that the left hing broke. When i sent it back. It is still under warranty. They wanted to charge me over $600 to fix their own product defect. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. IT IS DEFECTIVE. CHECK OUT THE BLOGS. THIS COMPUTER HAS A SEROIUS DESIGN FLAW AND HP DOES NOT STAND BY IT EVEN WITH A WARRANTY.

HP Envy 17" laptop
I have/ had an HP 17" Envy Laptop with all the bells and whistles (Intel i7 quad core processor, 16 Gb RAM and dual bay for two drives - I regular 1 Tb drive and one 250 Gb SSD drive- Beats audio etc. etc. I have had it for two years- and then one day recently- the display just went dead. I had it looked at by someone and he says that the problem is with power- and that since it's a "Motherboard" issue- this thing is as good as dead.
I am very upset- as a comparable computer would set me back by a thousand dollars. I see "Refurbished" computers on sale all of the time, which means that these things are being fixed at all times. Is there an HP center or an approved location that can do a diagnostic on this to see if this can be salvaged- before I have to essentially throw it out? Any good advice will be greatly appreciated.

Projectors not working
I have a HP Probook 650 G3 for one of my teachers that will not connect to any projectors anymore! Here are some troubleshooting steps I have taken:
Connected the HP to an external monitor - Everything works fine
Using same cables from the monitor above, I connected a projector (three different makes and models) - No Display on projector.
Projectors were connected up to other computers and work just fine.
I did fresh installation of windows, and drivers and updates. Same no display.
Intel Graphics control panel does recognize when the projector is plugged in or not (also hear the windows chimes when connecting and disconnecting).
Tried all forms of "projecting" such as duplicate, extend etc.
I used the same windows image as I installed on 29 other computers (same make and model) and those all work flawlessly.

Docking station for HP Spectra
Anyone know what docking station works with the new Specrta converable? Just got off chat with the HP support services and they tol me the Targus DOCK410 that THEY sold me was not compatible. Yup, asked and the online sales support center of HP said this was the one to get... Now the tech support line says they donlt know which one will work and suggest that I go to an HP Store and try some to make sure I get one that is compatible. HEre's a news flash, there is not such thing as an HP Store, at least in the Sacramento area. What, they think their apple now? That leaves stores like best buy, stapes, etc that I know about. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

14" Chromebook x360 Active Pen Options
I just bought the x360 14" (not to be confused with the 11") and haven't found any info on which pen would work well with it. I know the 11" x360 supports Wacom EMR, but there's nothing on the internet to suggest the 14" also supports EMR.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to find out if my x360 14" supports EMR?

HP Pavilion x360 14-cd0201ng tilt pen compatibility

I would like to get a stylus pen for my notebook and I am wondering if the tilt functionality of the HP Tilt Pen would work.
The compatibility chart says...
"x* - Computers that support the HP Pen can also support the HP Tilt Pen, but the HP Tilt Pen might not work on older computers"
...for the Pavilion x360 14-cd0xx product line. Now, is my system new or to old?

When using touchscreen to close apps, windows underneath also close
I recently purchased this convertable laptop. I have nearly no complaints other than the bug which involves trying to minimize or close an app using the touchscreen. When trying to close or minimize a window, if there is a window open underneath the one on top they will both close or minimize.
This can be quite frustrating when you're using the web browser to do some research then you go to close the browser and the project you have open underneath the browser also closes.
At times I've lost progress on my projects due to this bug. Does anyone know why this is happening and/or if there is a known solution. I've tried looking into this problem by searching google and the forums here but to no avail. Any help is much appreciated.

Can't use Adobe quick hand tool (Space + hold and drag) with PS/2 touchpad or mouse

I've got an HP ZBook 15 G2 laptop, with a PS/2 mouse (actually a trackball), and of course it has also a touchpad (with the same problem). The problem is of the same kind as other Adobe users as well as a lot of gamers have got: the combination of hoding down key(s) on the keyboard while moving the mouse pointer with a button pressed down, doesn't work.

synaptics smartsense disabled yet still cant type and use touchpad at same time
... to see that there are lots of us. The answers marked as solved are either not solutions (buying a USB mouse as some of the solutions say, will still render the touchpad functionality broken).
You will find the same questions on the Adobe forum and other places on the net.
It seems HP + Windows 10 + Synaptics can't handle this question. Downgrading or even removing the Synaptics drivers doesn't help (that's another solution, that may have helped for some occations, not for the Adobe "quick hand tool" though, see below).

I doubt that removing the registry keys some write about would do any difference, since the problem was still there with no Synaptics drivers at all.
Is there some other functionality that turns off the possibility to hold down a keyboard key (space) and the left mouse/touch button while moving the pointer? Perhaps more close to the hardware? Or is it something in Windows 10?

Spectre 360 and Pavilion Q32 monitor setting/compatability
I just purchased a Pavilion Q32 monitor to pair with my Spectre 360 4K 2-in-1. I'm using a USB-C hub that previously worked seamlessly with an older 24" ASUS HD monitor. I initially got no signal going into the monitor, but after installing the driver, I'm getting a pretty awesome picture. The laptop however doesn't seem to recognize that there are two displays. The display settings below don't look like they did with the ASUS, and the laptop screen doesn't turn off when I plug in the hub, which it did automatically with the previous monitor. What am I missing?

How to turn off display manually? No Fn+key on the keyboard?
Hello. Just got a new Zbook 17 G5 at work and i am really disappointed in some of the design decisions.
Most notably the person that designed the keyboard layout should be fired because it is trash (ISO layout on mine, US one might be a little better).
Anyways, can't do much about that, but unless i'm missing something, is there is a way to turn on and off the screen via the keyboard?
I might be able to do it in software with Sharpkeys but figured i could ask first.

I have apologized if used incorrect forum, but unable to find a way how to get the information I am interesting.
I am looking for the information about the display brightness value in the laptop with product ID 3ZH35EA.
Maybe anybody can have an access to the appropriate specification? I can not find this information on site.
Keep in mind, that Elitbook x360 1030 G3 is selling in different configurations and this 3ZH35EA is only one of multiple.

it keeps coming up
Whenever i login to my laptop, it comes up with an error code and says “C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\ Desktop is unavailable.” and it also says “Location is not available”. i have no clue how to fix it.

Screen text changing color
I have a HP Envy x360 m6 Convertable and the text on screen is changing color to purple/cyan when scrolling thru web pages. Sometimes it stays, but is sporatic and a nuisance.
Is this a screen hardware problem or video setting???

Touch screen not working after windows 10 upgrade
Have upgraded to windows 10 pro 64bit, touch screen no loger works.
Have carried out a touch screen test using the f2 key on boot, touch screen working fine, so it's a software problem.
Carried out the update procedure in windows, but no updates found.
