Hi, The ability of people:
I work in school. There are several compaq 6710b to upgrade to windows 7. But the screen becomes smaller.
Indicates in Device Manager "insufficient resources . If you want it to work well. Disable other devices".
How do I do? Please help .
I have just boought a Pavillion 15-n027sa laptop. Great machine and fast but I am very disapointed woth the display and graphics. The colours are very wishy washy throughout and not sharp. I cannot find a way of improving the contrast. Does anyone have any ideas???

Please tell me if i can do something about this problem because I am really close to a law process because of the lack of intrest on this matter.
I just bought an HP Envy with an upgrade Nvidia 840M. I believe the laptop still also has the Intel HD Graphics. If I want to play a game that requires a faster graphics card do I have to manually switch to the Nvidia Card from the Intel HD Graphics card (the default card)? If so, how do you do that?
I figured out how to make youtube videos work though it makes no sense to have to goto lowest quality on a pretty new computer with Windows 8.0... BUT other videos, even on lowest quality are just green screening. HELP PLEASE!

A few days ago, the screen on my laptop began to flicker, sometimes shutting off completelely - at times coming back on, other times staying off. It seems to be random - it happens during boot, in the middle of web browsing, middle of running clean-up, etc. It's not running hot, it hasn't been dropped or anything spilled near it; in fact, the machine has barely been used for the past year.
After checking all updates and running as little software as possible, and giving the insides a thourough dust-out (which it hardly needed), I realized it does not seem to be an issue with drivers, program compatability, java/flash, malware or even the chipset. I've plugged in an external moniter when the laptop screen shuts off, and everything is running normally. The ONLY thing that is giving me a problem is the screen itself - not just a blank screen, a powerless screen, and again, very random.
Also while an external moniter is plugged in, sometimes the laptop screen is on, sometimes it shuts off, sometimes it stays off, sometimes it comes back on. The external moniter never even flickers during any of this. Even without the em, I know windows is still running as I can do a proper shut-down using the keyboard (win>right arrow>enter).
Any suggestions (like maybe a loose connection?) would be greatly appreciated.

*edited to add: It also doesn't matter the length of time the machine has been running. It can happen when it's only been turned on a few minutes after being off for hours. Or it can be on for hours with no problems at all.
I have HP Envy Touchsmart 15-j051ea, I have had the laptop for 4 months now, not had anyproblems with any updates in the passed. I have recently received a BIOS update for my laptop, did so it resarted it, and the screen display will now not come on.
I turn it on and the actually laptop turns on and starts firing up with fan, and after about 2 seconds it slows down as if its just in a standby mode operation, and not doing anything.
Just Blank screen no text shows nothing, ive left it on for 3 hours and no change still, wondering if there is a solution to this? i have tried all the assitance from the HP as in Hard Reset, holding the "Windows key" and "B" key while it is off then pressing the power button for 1 Second with the keys pushed and released.

i have a HP ENVY dv6-7210us and since recently, every time i close the lid from one side of the lid i see a few white lines flickeron the opposite side of the screen. i realised however that i should be closing my laptop from the center as when i do, i dont see the lines. so i am asking, is there any possibility that my screen may be going or do i just need to contine closing it from the center to prevent the flickering lines in the screen?

there is no long update for my graphic card in Pavilion DV6-3180ec. Last and first from 2011. There is ATi mobility radeon 5650, with intel graphic in CPU. So i must use drivers from HP because it had been done directly to this hybrid and no other official driver not working. Missing in bios fixed mod is also too bad. In some aplication and games drivers crashes. It is poor support from HP for their old notebooks. I will take this fact into account in future choices brand of notebook...

Recently my laptop suddenly shrunk the display down to 1024x768, even in BIOS and when starting up. In Windows, the monitor is recognized as "Digital Flat Panel, 1024x768, 60Hz". Here is a photo I took with my mobile phone:

Friend brought me "dead" laptop.
NOW WATCH THIS...
On external display choose display settings and change the resolution on the laptop screen and apply changes. It turns back on the backlight. I can then choose to go back to whatever resolution and the screen backlight stays on until some sort of timeout...and then dark again.
I don't have a working version of Windows on the machine to update BIOS. Bios is F.15.

Installed with Win7 but does not have working recovery platform so would need to order recovery media and I'm not convinced this will work as Linux experience shows the fault too.
I have never seen something like this. Backlights are usually either working or not.

The following error message keeps occuring...
"Display dtiver stopped responding and has recovered"
"Display driver AMD driver stopped responding and has successfully recovered"
Prior to this happening the laptop will freeze for a bit and many times without the error message appearing the laptop will just reboot itself. This seems to happens when we open up some programs (programs vary but will happen everytime opening HP software like Quick Start...but not everytime, MS products, etc)
Here is a list of the things we have updated or tried to correct the issue...
The listed Video Driver abaove is the only option available fromt he HP site, which is ver. 12.101.1.0
Presently I has uninstalled the AMD graphic driver under the system windows settings and am using a Microsoft Baisc Display Adapter driver with no errors at all. Using this basic driver limits many of my progrtams capabilities though so I do not want to stay on this option permantly.
Obviously I am out of ideas at this pointy, so any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I have HP ENVY 15 TouchSmart j001tx and I wanted to have a Screen Gaurd for it.
The market around provided only rectangular shape screen gaurds which were not covering its curves.
Hence I asked a multinational company for the support and they have emailed me a CORNER RADIUS CHART (attached herewith). After analysing I am confused between 3 of them.
I contacted the customer support, but they were unable to help. Since this is a deep technical point, I hope to have some help from here.
Kindly provide me with the corner radius of my laptop so that I can order the screen gaurd.
