Hello,

 

I am unable to use the webcam on my laptop since the last few months. The issue may have appeared after an update, I am not sure, as I only rarely use my webcam. 

 

I am unable to get it to work with Cyberlink Youcam, windows Camera app, or Skype - all I get is a black screen on the Camera app. The HP Truevision HD is appearing on Device Manager and when I open the software, the Camera status indicator LED lights up. 

 

I am in need of using my Device's Webcam for the next few weeks and any prompt help will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance for your time.

I recently purchased an HP Spectre x360 that came with an pen for both drawing and just generally using the touch screen. I think it's an HP Tilt Pen but i'm not 100% sure.

 

While the pen works great, I can't seem to find a way to switch it off. Which is a problem because it discharges while I'm not using it and next time I want to use the battery is drained and I can't use it immediately.

 

I've already checked out  and tried all the other "solutions" to other similar questions but none of them seem to work for me. I tried everything: i read through the whole instruction booklet, i pressed all the buttons and tried all the modes, tried holding it down with the twist lock cap open (as suggested by someone), tried disconnecting it from the bluetooth, unpaired it from my laptop etc... The pen is still on and working no matter what I do.

 

Anybody have any suggestion that isn't among the things I've already tried?

Latest Windows 10 update has made one of my apps invisible on the screen.  3cx Phone App.  The real estate that the app is supposed to take up is actually there, if you hover over the buttons, they show up as tips.

 

Only way I could get it back was to load the Generic Intel Graphics driver, but then my laptop loses dual screen capability.

I have loaded the latest driver through Windows Update, but it still has the issue.  I go to HP and ask it to download the latest driver for HD 5500 Graphics and it gives me a couple options.  But when I try to run those, it says my system does not meet the minimum requirements?

 

Why is it recommending drivers for me that do not work?

 

Latest Drivers Windows Update gave was 20.19.15.4549 and 20.19.15.4835

There is a 20.19.16.4821 driver available off HP site, but it is not letting me update.

The referenced documentation asserting no Mac support is evidently obsolescent, since it describes "newer Macs" as having VESA graphics.  Surely you do support Macs, at some level, now!

computer stopped working - visual display gone, tried shutting on, unplugging, waiting overnight but when turned "on" 

only slight brightening of screen, nothing else.

On Power up the screen remains blank and I can't use the touch screen.

I have connected it to an external screen and it works.

Does this mean my screen is broken?

i have a laptop Hp Microsoft windows 10 (64 bit). The display is cracked. I see only the half of the display. The warranty finish this december. I would like to know how much does the display cost if i like to change it. The laptop works but i dont see all the display.

Hi, I have the problem, actually I bougth the new screen replacement but it is very fargil, it cracked again, when i was pressing the bazel, it cracked with the line, the question is: Is it possible to replace it with a non touch cheaper screen? Can you tell me, please the exact part number, and where to get it? I really need to save some money . Thnks

Hi,

 

Within the past couple of days the brighntess buttons stopped working on my Elitebook 850 G5 (f3 & f4).  All other hotkey buttons work except these.  I tried reinstalling the video driver, but had no success.  The bios was updated this weekend by HP, so I'm not sure if that's related or not, but I do miss these buttons.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am noticing a small black line in the centre of the screen around 1.5 cm long which has increased to around 3 cm in a week. It is around 2-3 pixel wide.

Visible to all screens in on mode.

I have an HP Envy x360 15-cp0013au that I have had for 2 days and has a screen which produces the "screen door effect". There is a diagonal grid all over the screen.

 

The issue occurs in BIOS and also when running from a Linux USB stick so it isn't a driver issue.

 

This is the second of these computers I have had - the first was returned with a faulty WiFi card and I don't recall it having the same issue with the screen.

My eraser (pointer) mouse is causing a lot of problems from autoswitching tabs or browsing back or forward by just breathing on it.  It is very frustrating!!!!  I was excited to use the pointer as a I used to have one years ago and prefer it over touchpads but this has basically made it unusable.  I have update the drivers to the latest but that seems to have done nothing to correct the issue.

I often use my computer outside though rarely in direct sunlight. The screen is too dim to read easily. I have tried everything I can find to brighten the screen without change. My function keys to brighten or darken have no effect at all.

 

I called support and spent over an hour with the tech but ended the call when he wanted to reset the computer to factory settings. This problem has existed since I bought the computer new so resetting to factory settings will have no effect except to make me load all my programs from scratch. 

 

Does anyone have any solutions?

While using the mousepad, the cursor is not accurately in-sync with my finger movement.

It has a very slight delay, which causes me to miss (overshoot) buttons that I am trying to click on.

 

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the elan driver. I noticed that the delay actually improved when I uninstalled the elan driver, however, all the additional functionality was lost so I had to reinstall the driver.

After some upgrade my shortcuts Fn + F1 (switch monitor), Fn + F3 (decrease brigthness),Fn + F4 (increase b.) don't work properly.

The other Fn + ... for audio, microfone and WiFi work.

 

Can someone help me?
