Display not working with HDMI

I have bought a pavillion laptop but the HDMI port doesn't seem to be working for projecting visual.
I have checked the leads and they are working on another lap top.
I have tried restarting with the HDMI in at the start and it still won't pick it up.
I have checked I've got duplicate on display.
When I go to display in windows settings it doesn't seem to identify the other display it just says 1/2.
The HDMI does seem to pick up the sound- just not the display.
I need the laptop for presentations so really need some help with what to do here.
Many Thanks

HP Pavilion Windows 10 keyboard stopped working

BLUF: Laptop keyboard doesn't work (both physical and on screen) and no, uninstalling/updating drivers doesn't work.

Like several others, my keyboard stopped working, completely. The computer does not recognize it's existance at any point (to include booting up). It worked fine on 18 june, but on 21 june it decided it didn't want to anymore. No updates happened in that time, although on 21 june an update did happen after the keyboard stopped working. I've deleted drivers, updated drivers, but nothing seems to work. To make things better the onscreen keyboard won't pop up so I can't type using anything now.

The only solution I've seemed to see is to reset my entire computer, losing everything on the computer. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. If this is a known problem (based on the number of posts I've seen on this subject), HP / Microsoft should have a better fix. I'm just glad I have a desktop computer that I can ask for help with.

Any help that doesn't involve deleting everything in existance on my computer would be great. If that's the only solution, then that will be useful for my future purchasing decisions as well.

Win10 update and brightness level issue

Hi there!

This is my first post there, so excuse me if I've choosen wrong board.

So about an month ago (as far as I know) I've updated my Win10 to 1803 version and now I can't go back to the previous one . Fn+f5/f6 combination doesn't work (the one with f4 too) and it's annoying that I can't change my brightness level via keyboard. And yes, I've got the latest updates of anything possible (even BIOS). I've tried to install the newest drivers from Intel's site (ofc those valid for my HD 520) but I couldn't because something blocked it. And it seems that the newest Intel's graphic drivers available on HP's site are dated 04/2018, so before Windows Update. Any ideas what to do? I don't want to reinstall my OS, I'd rather downgrade to the previous build or something like that.

Have a nice day!

There is no 2nd graphic adapter

I have the exact same problem with a recently purchased Omen 15 8750h gaming laptop.  I see no intel UHD630 adapter and when I try to install the intel driver from HP's site it says I don't meet the requirements.

MISSING HS-Compliant Touchscreen driver in Human Interface tab

I have read and tried everything suggested, nothing has helped.

I go to Device Manager/click on Human Interface - there are 2 items under that; nothing more/no HD compliant touchscreen shows. Touchscreen disappeared after the most recent Windows update.

I have clicked Device Manager/Action/Scan Devices and restarted-NOPE

I have looked under Bios nothing-NOPE

I've run every troubleshooting option, used HP troubleshooter-Nope

I've done a recovery back to the previous Windows update-still nothing and not working

I tried to reset further but cannot do so.

I've looked on HP site and there is NO driver to download for HD Compliant touchscreen

I've looked on Windows and there is NO drive to download for HD Compliant touchscreen

OK, you guys are supposed to know this stuff, do I have to uninstall Windows 10 and reinstall?  Will I lose my files if I do? My computer came with 8.1 and I upgraded without any problem to Windows 10 the month it came out.

Or, smash the computer with a giant rubber hammer?

Monitor problems since Microsoft Update

I've been running my HP ENVY x360 m6 laptop with 3 monitors:

  • the laptop (Microsoft Basic Display Driver),
  • an external monitor connected with HDMI (Intel HD Graphics 620, I believe), and
  • an external monitor connected with VGA via a USB-to-VGA adapter (Trigger II External Graphics).

But the Windows 10 Creator's update in May failed to complete, and took me to the infamous Green Screen. The only way I could get into Windows was to back out a graphics driver (sorry, I don't remember the details). When I finally booted up, I found that:

  1. My HDMI monitor is not detectable at all. (Also tried the HDMI connection with a different HDMI cable on the TV, but got "no signal".)
  2. Some of the Display Settings on both working monitors are disabled
  3. My laptop monitor has become darker (this is one of the disabled options)

I've since used the HP Support Assistant to install all recommended updates (including Intel HD Graphics Driver, ver. 24.20.100.6025), and Windows itself has installed another update. However, nothing has improved.

I'm assuming it is a driver issue, but maybe that settings somewhere got changed. Surely, someone else has experienced this!

Please help! I want my system back to full potential!

Hello!
HP Pavilion Power 15  has DP1.2 Accordingly to spec.

But display port cable can not plugin to them.  Port looks like as usb 3 actually.

My question is: how I can connect second monitor via that DP ? Or is there some issue in spec and DP standard is 1.4 ? I do not want to occupy usb type c port. (I need it for another reason)

supported drivers from hp is "not validated for this computer"

Hello,

I am having issues with runnin graphically intense programs on my laptop, and I think it may be the graphic driver I am using, so I went to HP's website to try to install different graphic drivers meant for my computer, but both the Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver and the NVIDIA Graphics Skylake Driver give me an error on how it's either incompatable with my computer's hardware it's not validated for my computer. I find this strange as I am on hp's driver page for my specific laptop and these are the two drivers it says my computer supports. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks!

hp pavilion screen problem.JPG

Hi,

I've been having a problem with my touch screen for months now. In the picture attached, I ran a Component Test by pressing F2 during restarting my laptop, and ran a touchscreen point test. The blue area indicates the areas of my screen that IS responsive, the orange part indicates the area that is NOT responsive.

I used the HP Support Assistant software and did every trouble shooting tip the virtual support agent told me to do: Clean the screen, do a hard restart, unistall the touch screen driver, calibrate the screen, etc...Still nothing works.

Does anyone have a solution to fix this?

Would i need to replace the entire screen? Where do I get this done and about how much would it cost (Without warranty)?

This is a HP Pavilion x360 m3 convertible, Windows 10 Home 64-bit

Thank you,

Two identical external monitors connected to displayport with hdmi adapter; system detects the two external and the one laptop monitor, but won't allow extend to 3rd montior (the laptop monitor); instead acts like it can't be done even though I can swap ANY two between the three at once but not all three at once; i can do a laptop and an external, or two externals but the images won't appear on all 3 at once extended together like I want.

I did a hardware check, new hardware system check, deleted all drivers from amd for monitor then reinstalled from the website. nothing works.

How do you make an Hp ZR2740w monitor work with a 2017 macbook air

I have just received an HP ZR2740w monitor and I have noticed that it does not have enough power to display anything in the max resolution. I have a dongle/box that has both VGA and USB outputs, yet with the extra power, it still won't run on my MacBook Air. I was hoping that someone could help me because I want to get this working soon.

Thanks.
