CPU Usage Drops Causing FPS Drops in Games
Hello Community!
OK, I have been having this issue for a very long time. It's about having FPS Drops.
Device Specifications:
Model name: HP-15bs036ne
CPU: Core-i5 7200U @2.50GHz
GPU 0: Intel HD 620
GPU 1: AMD Radeon 520 (R5 M330)
RAM: 8GB DDR3
Hard: 1TB
I just recently formatted my laptop. Before that, Dota 2 worked perfectly and all other games experienced FPS Drops accompanied by Drops in CPU Usage (Ex: Skyrim, Homefront, Rocket League). So in a hope to fix the issue, I wanted to clean install Windows and reinstall all drivers.
Games Tried:
- Dota 2: Huge FPS Drops. Game becomes unplayable
- CS Source: Slight drops for 3 seconds. Game totally playable
- Skyrim: Testing right now
However, it only got worse. Now even Dota 2 has FPS Drops (from 100+ FPS to less than FPS). Those drops are accompanied by CPU Usage Drops. Please look at this image:
You can also notice drops in GPU 0 and GPU 1.
Things I did so you can exclude it:
- ALL DRIVERS are up to date, using Windows Update, HP Support Assistant, and manual update through device manager.
- GAMES are working on the AMD Graphics card, the power plan is set to High Performance, and all settings in both the Intel and AMD Graphics Cards are set to Maximize Performance (Instead of improving battery life)
- PC is plugged in
- The charger's Power is the same as the official Charger's power provided in the catalogue
- IT IS NOT AN OVERHEATING PROBLEM, CPU and both GPU's temperatures aren't exceeding the maximum temperature
- Disabled Game DVR and XBOX Game Monitoring
- Dota 2 is working on DirectX11
- Laptop is fairly new, so no hardware should be damaged (as I mentioned Dota 2 used to work)
- Checked that device specifications can run the game
- Windows is cleanly installed (that was just yesterday)
I really need a solution. Anyone have any suggestions?

Is it possible to connect an extra monitor via type c port on HP pavilion 15?
I currently bought a HP Pavilion 15, which got only one hdmi port and type c port and two 2.0 USB port.
I want to find out if it's possible to connect an extra monitor via type c port? I have seen a lot of type c adapter that can convert hdmi or vga...but it looks like it's not working on my pavilion...i am wondering if the type c on my laptop is not for screen or display?
Please any one can help? I will appreciate that.

HP 6550b - Built In Web Cam
It is widely described black screen problem of built-in Web Cam. It doesn't work in my case also. I'm wondering if maybe it's hardware problem (at least at mine computer). Safe mode says that web cam device is not available and to check Bios regarding that. In normal mode Camera App actually starts with black screen but white led next to camera lens goes on. Does that mean that camera is actually plugged in? I'm wondering if so, due to my laptop was serviced some time ago. Maybe they didn't plug camera cable in?
On the other hand - Is there appropriate Win10 driver for HP6550b built-in web cam available? Can anyone help?

Pen Jitter , no hand palm block

1.Issue (pen Jitter)
I have a HP Pavilion x360 with which an active Stylus HP Pen was sent . When I write, the pen jitters so much, I used software such as One Note, Adobe Acrobat Reader Dc, jitters on all of them.
Reading through one of the forms, one guy noted that he faces this problem whenver the screen brightness is on 100%, and he faces no jitter when the brightness is 0-25%, after testing that, I seem to face the same condition as well.
2.Issue (hand palm Block) :
when I am writing on the screen with the pen, the laptop still interacts with the touch of my hand, and most the time launches the on screen keyboard right before I start writing with the pen, which is very annoying, I wonder if there's a function, where I can easily turn off the hand touch responsiveness (such a function exists on the Surface book for example) where the screen only responds to the touch of a pen. Since I would want to turn the responsiveness on/off multiple times while taking notes, using the HID switch is obviously not the answer I am looking for.
3.Issue (cursor sometimes moves ghostly in the middle of the screen , unresponsive):
the mouse cursor, in this case, I have to restart the laptop for it to work properly again.
Of course, I have to use the pen to restart the laptop, as the mouse cursor becomes very resistive.

Synaptics Touchpad loses settings upon reboot
HP Pavilion 17-g188ca with a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro x64 (version 1803 - April 2018 Update). The Synaptics Touchpad has one little quirk that is driving me batty.
I have enabled "Disable touchpad when mouse is present" in the control panel. Upon a reboot the touchpad completely ignores this setting and enables itself. The setting is still enabled, just ignored.
To fix it I must:
- Open control panel\mouse
- Unselect "Disable touchpad when mouse is present"
- Reselect "Disable touchpad when mouse is present"
- Click apply.
The registry setting mentioned in other posts to prevent setings from being lost does not work. The setting is not lost on reboot. It is ignored.

HP OMEN External Monitor Color Flickerinf
I bought The Hp Omen 15.6 laptop on black friday 2017 and until now ive had no problems. I recently bought a new external monitor (nothing fancy) and used it for my laptop using HDMI. At first there was no problem until i booted up a game. The screen was filled with a rainbow of horizontal lines and i noticed a significant frame drop. I then blamed the monitor and i tried again, each time i tried the same problems occurred. Secondly the game i would be running would crash any time i switch the display mode to External Monitor only. Anyone ever experience this or heard of something like this and if please help me find a solution. Thanks.

My screen is freezing with vertical lines then flickering - was intermittent now all the time
When I turn on my notebook I get a gradual fading of the screen until vertical lines appear - at this time there is no response to using the touchpad though typing can happen behind the lines. This is now happening everytime I start the notebook. The screen becomes interactive again after about 5 minutes or 10 minutes but flickers constantly.
I get no error messages . Over the last year I have looked at blogs who claim it is a hardware issue and that I need to send the device away to get the screen replaced. However, I have followed the steps to update and/ or replace display drivers. This has led to no changes though I did find symptoms left after I removed Skype for a short time. I found that the bios screen did not flicker so this led me to wonder if it is a software problem.
I am using wireless for my internet connection. I have no warrenty which is why I have not sent the device off straight away but I would appreciate some advice as I cannot use my device well with this problem.

The touch pad/arrow is not showing on the screen, but the touch screen is working fine.

when you create a recovery drive on a seperate storage device, is the full system image copied?
I used the recovery utility and saved it to a separate storage device. It stated it created a partition on it. What I waned to know is did it create a full system image AND the 'boot-up' capability on this device? I am not exactly sure what it did. It took a long time and the directory looks like the attached screen snip-it. Can someone look and tell me if I accomplished both tasks....the re-boot capability AND a full system image. I cannot tell.

HP Envy X360 won't detect HP Envy 27 monitor
I just purchased an HP Envy X360 and the HP Envy 27 monitor. I cannot, for the life of me, get the laptop to detect the the monitor as a second display. I have gone connected it via the HDMI cable, the USB cable (as shown on the sheet that came with the monitor for laptop connections), and poured over troubleshooting walkthoughs - all to no avail. The monitor came with a CS labled "Displays, Software & Documentation" but there is no drive on the Envy X360 for me to insert the darn thing. I went to HP support and entered my monitor's serial # and downloaded a driver... still nothing. I'm out of ideas and at a complete loss. Some help would be great right about now - I got this to use in my small business and need it up and runing ASAP. Thanks.

Spectre (2017) 2 Finger Touchpad Scrolling in Powerpoint 2016 Acting Weird
I'm having the exact same issue. Touchpad scrolling in PowerPoint 2016 does not work and seems to register as touchscreen inputs. Scrolling with an external mouse or with a finger on the touchscreen works fine. PowerPoint is the only application with this problem so far.
Happens even on newly created Windows user accounts. And ever since I got this notebook a month ago.

So sick of those bad Synaptics drivers... When will HP finally ditch them and switch to Windows Precision?!
I would have said this is a PowerPoint issue, but the fact that only HP users with this problem can be found online points to HP or one of its device suppliers and their drivers being the culprit.
Please let me know if any more information is needed. I would really appreciate a fix for this issue or HP at least looking into it - thanks!
