Same issue as everyone else on this forum. Purhased 01/2016 with ghost circles / erratic mouse issues commencing within one month, on/off thereafter to present. Multiply calls to HP confirmed  HP Technical support incompetence.  Multiple HP tests/diagnostics completed. All drivers/diagnostic passed.

 

Suspect HP  R & D / Engineering  qucik fix resolution was not developed resulting in later generation models hardware / soft ware upgrades. DO NOT RECOMMEND PURCHASING THIS PRODUCT (OR SIMILAR HP PRODUCTS). As as senior manager with an large international energy company will be interfacting the our procurement department on HP pc issues to preclude the purchase of HP pc products. 

Spectre x360 13-inch touch delay after using any n-trig stylus

I purchased my laptop back in 25th May 2017. One of the major deciding factors for my laptop purchase was pen input. With such a large touch delay after pen input, the pen function becomes useless due to the frustrations experienced when trying to use it. The delay severely interrupts your work flow so much so that I just don't use the pen on this device. This is extremely disappointing considering this was one of my major purchasing decision criteria.

 

This touch delay has existed right from day one on my device. I feel I have been (just like others) extremely patient, constantly checking back at this forum for any update or solution. Additionally I have been constantly checking for any new updates in HP's included Support Assistant software which may resolve this issue. I usually don't like to rashly complain and post on forums (especially when the issue has already been raised by many others) but I feel HP has had more than sufficient time to address this matter.

 

This issue has been raised for almost 9 months now and still no solution or information / update regarding the status of this issue.

 

It took almost 2 months to even get a single response from a HP Support Agent on this forum. When a support agent did eventually respond, all they said was that the concerns have been escalated to the HP Support Team. 7 months later and still no official response or update from a HP representative.

 

Good customer service and experience is not hard to maintain even if there is an outstanding issue. All HP needs to do is:

1. Acknowledge the issue.

2. Update customers (in a timely matter) on the status with an estimated time for the resolution.

3. Keep customer's informed and updated if previous time period estimates pass to ensure customers don't feel like they are being ignored.

4. Present the solutions or conclusions regarding the matter.

 

Currently HP has only achieved step 1 above in 9 months!

 

With such silence on the matter, one can only presume the issue is caused by a hardware fault which HP does not want to admit to.

 

I can't help but constantly think I should have gone with Microsoft's Surface Book which I was considering. Granted no product is perfect but at least Microsoft seem to be supporting their customers much better.

 

With such disappointing (or sheer lack of) customer support and service, I will never by another HP product unless something is drastically changed and I'm not hesitant in warning family, friends and work colleagues off purchasing similar HP products.

 

 

 

I have also voiced these same frustrations in a customer feedback survey form for this forum that popped up.

I'm really sorry that I don't know a whole lot about my computer. I hate to make a 'woe is me ' story but it's important as to why I can't tell you my model or serial number - 
I got this computer about 2 years ago from my parents when my mother got a BUNCH of money, and they always used to pawn my 
So I wanted to make sure they /couldn't/ pawn my computer, and I peeled off all of the stickers for it because I thought that'd stop it from being pawnable 
(bc they'd always pawn and never get it out, but get their own stuff out first) 
anYWAY 
I'm not tech savvy at all. But today, I came home, went to my computer, turned it on, all like normal. And I couldn't use my touchpad. I can't left or right click on anything, nothing is working. I turned my computer off and on multiple times, and I noticed when I turned it off and on, it always pops up this message that says something like 'mouse not detected' or something?? and tells me to click f1 to continue or f11 to go to some settings screen that I can't do much on bc my mouse isn't working. 
I looked at the troubleshooting thing to see if anything was up, it told me to install some drivers so I did what it said and installed them. It rebooted my computer and it still won't work! 
btw, I'm using my huion 420 tablet & pen as a mouse rn. I do have a wireless mouse, but i have no clue where the thing is - 
Can anyone help me at all? Smiley Sad I really don't know what I should do and i'm scared that it's a hardware problem. 


EDIT: 
I slapped it out of frustration and pounded the heck out of the left button and it fixed it??? 

Brightness won't go up, will not let me click icons

I have a HP Stream Notebook PC 13. I don't know if that matters. All the F keys work. When I try to adjust my brightness to make it not so dark, it says it's as light as it can be. But it's still dark.
Also, I can move my mouse around but I can close tabs or browsers. I can't open them either. It won't let me do anything, I'm becoming very frustrated. Someone please help.

I recently place an order (16 FEB 2018) for a HP OMEN 17 - "17t gaming 6GB gfx" laptop with the stock configuration options.
CPU: 7700HQ

RAM: 16GB (2x8GB) 2400mhz
GPU: NVIDIA 1060GTX 6GB GDDR5

DISPLAY: 17.3" diagonal FHD 120 Hz IPS anti-glare WLED-backlit (1920 x 1080)

STORAGE: 128GB NVMe SSD + 1TB 7200RPM HDD

 

Going throgh some reviews online I saw all of them only cover the higher trim with the 1070GTX and they found out that the Screen is actually G-SYNC enabled even though HP didn´t  advertised it  so I am wondering if my screen on my 1060GTX option is the same?

Its still a month or so until the Laptop even ships out from HP so I am curious about stuff I cant find any info on the internet SPECIALLY a full review of the OMEN 17 with a 1060GTX which is non-existant aparently.

Tilt Pen Off Switch?

I recieved an HP Tilt pen with my Spectre laptop but I've never been able to use it because there appers to be no off switch and the battery discharges very quickly.  That means every time I pick it up its completely dead and effectively useless.

 

Does anyone know if there's a way to switch this thing off?


External monitor issues

I have been using a Plugable USB3 docking startion for about 2 years now with  external screen plugged into DVi to VGA port and had absolutely no problems

Now all of a sudden the external screen "Dell"stopped working but everything else works still. I have tried the following but nothing seems to work:

1) changed to HDMI to DP from dock to screen

2) tried doing upgrade to drivers 

3) HDMI straight off laptop HDMI port to screen DP

4) reboot computer

4) power of screen off and on

5) reboot docking station

 

Screen has power and is working, tested on another PC

 

PLEASE HELP!!!!

I have download Intel HD Graphic driver through your HP support site but while installing it on my laptop it is not supporitng or not completely installing a i have install window 7 on my HP BU007 TU 15 q series notebook.

I need to buy a replacement display screen for my HP Notebook 15 Ay173dx. It's says it has a 15.6  diagnal HD SVA Brightview WLED-Backlit (1366-768) in specs. However I have no idea the right replacement part to buy. I need help desperately purchasing the right one. Laptop is used for college so if anybody can help please reply.

Скачивая различные приложения, например видеоредакторы или фоторедакторы иконки инструметов в них очень маленькие и дело не в приложении, а в компьютере, потому как на других компьютерах всё идеально! Пробовали менять масштаб и прочее ничегоне помогает! Помогите пожалуйста!

Disable volume and/or power switch on Spectre 360?

Is there a way to disable either the volume rocker or the power switch in tablet mode?  I'm using it turned vertically as a music reader on a music stand. If I turn it one way, the power switch is depressed, turning off the screen. the other way depresses the volume button, and the volume graphic screen stays on the screen. I know at one point I was able to X out the volume graphic, but that doesn't seem to be an option now.

No updates available, the other laptop plays great thru the TV (also an HP),  new HDMI cable. 

The TV recognizes the device, and plays the video sound only, the TV only display's the wallpaper from the laptop,  no mouse pointer.  The video plays fine on the laptop and the sound transfers to the tv like its supposed to

Screen Contrast Fades At Times

The contrast on my HP Notebook laptop screen will occassionally fade out to a point where I can hardly see anything. It goes back to normal when I adjust my screen by physically by moving it on the hinges. Sometimes the screen stays that way, other times it starts to go back to fading. For reference, this is what my screen looks like normally (i.e. when nothing is wrong with it)...

And here's what it looks like when the screen has faded out like it's been doing...

It doesn't seem to be any sort of permanent damage to the screen because the screen can go back to its usual state (even if it doesn't necessarily always stay that way). The intervals it will fade out are very random. For example, yesterday at work, it was working fine without fading pretty much all day but today it's been fading constantly throughout the day.

 

I've had my laptop for just over 7 months (got it in early July 2017); not even a full year, and it's already giving me problems. I've been taking extra special care of it. I make sure it never gets wet, I always carry it in a padded laptop case when I travel, so I doubt that it's anything caused by me. I'm not sure if it's a hardware or a software issue but I'd like to figure it out sooner than later because this screen business is driving me bonkers. What could be the problem? How do I fix this? Would my warranty cover something like this?
