Backlight Bleed HP - ENVY 17-ae051sa 17.3" Laptop

Hi. I have recently bought the HP Envy laptop and I love it. The only thing I have noticed is it does have some backlight bleed on the screen and I do notice it in very dark scenes when watching media. The first picture was taken at 50% brightness and the second at 80%. Does this look normal or does it look defective? The orange across the top seems to be IPS glow but that doesn't catch my eye during viewing at all. Thanks.

HOW or Why does a laptop monitor replacement take 3 weeks/21 days?

 

Did a tech take on my repair ticket & then go on vacation?

 

As a former IT Technician myself, we use to do laptop monitors swaps in 30 minutes, maybe a more difficult model would take a little longer, but  not 3 weeks.

So my laptop screen dims when I'm on a dark screen, and get brighter on light screens. Is there any way to lock it at it's brightest? I already disabled adaptive brightness under my windows power options.

Hello,

 

I have a HP Envy M6-p113dx with the 15.6-inch touch screen, AMD FX-8800P, and 8 Gb memory.  I have acquired this laptop off a friend at work who asked me to fix it up for them. I located and purchased most of the items I needed but have yet to purchase the screen. Currently the touch feature is no longer working. I did do a fresh install of windows 10 (64-bit) and installed all updates it required. other than the touch feature not working, there are a few large cracks in the glass screen overlaying the panel. 

 

I was looking around for a replacement but not sure what sites to trust for this item(s). Any guidance for the correct items that I will need for this will be greatly appreciated.

My wife laptop has a touch screen on it and it was working until last week. I have checked the device manager and the file for human interface device has been removed that allows me to check to see if touch is enabled. The computer indecates that this computer is not setup for touch screen. However it is and she has been using it since 2015. Please Help!

Vertical flickering on HP Stream

My boyfriend just bought me a HP Stream notebook to help with for school work, upon setting it up, I noticed that at times part of the screen would flicker with either a black or white background with different colored lines. Today is the first time I've used it and over the course of 9 hours, its done this several times. Is this a hardware malfunction or do I need to apply any drivers?

 

 

Blurry 2nd monitor when using with HP Envy x360 laptop

I have 2 HP monitors - one is an hp 27" es, the other is an hp 27"  er monitor.  Running these both with an HP Envy X360 (model M6-AQ105DX).  These are being run through a dock/port replicator and not directly plugged into the laptop (as the laptop doesn't have the right ports).  One monitor is hooked up by HDMI and the other by VGA cord.

 

One of the monitors is blurry.  

 

Things I've tried:

 

1.  different dock - no change

2.  different cords - no change

3.  plugging blurry monitor direct into laptop - no change

4.  running both as VGA cords and running both thru HDMI cords - no change

5.  adjusted monitor settings using controls on monitor itself - did nothing to change blurriness

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's the second time my laptop screen blacks out for no special reason. While i was waiting for updates the screen never turned back on. I can see light on the background and when I connect my laptop with a monitor I can access it but the screen is not showing anything. Please help!!

Hello,

I tried to connect my laptop to my TV using an HDMI cable but the problem is that I am getting a green image of whatever i am opening on my laptop. I used to use this cable for the past year and it was doing a great job until last week. I tried to connect another HP laptop using the same HDMI cable it worked fine. Thus, I am not sure it is the cable or the HDMI jack on my laptop is damaged.

White screen after sleep mode

 Hello!

 

I have recently bought a new computer, this one: HP ZBook 15 G3

 

My problem occour like this:

I fold the lid on the computer and when I open it again, the screen will just be white and I have to restart the computer.

 

I tried to find information about this problem and I found this: ,

The solution did not work, so any advice on how to solve this problem? I do not want a workaround that we remove the sleep mode when turning the lid down.

after reinstalling Windows (7 64) at first I install the driver on Intel(R) HD Graphics Family, then I try to install on NVIDIA GeForce GT 740m graphics card it is added, but after reboot NVIDIA Graphics card does not work. In device Manager writes the following: This device was stopped because it reported a problem occurs. (Code 43)

Touchpad will not work

Processor: SMD FX-9800P RADEON R7, 12 COMPUTE CORES 4C+8g 2.70 GHz

 

All of sudden my touchpad stopped working. It working perfectly a few days ago and I use my external mouse for now. I have tried restarting and tried this:

 

Try the following - connect a usb Mouse where required.

 

Hold down the Windows key and press R

 

Into the Run window, type devmgmt.msc and hit enter.

 

In the Device Manager window, expand Mice and other pointing devices.

 

Right click the Synaptics device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.

 

When complete, shutdown the notebook.

 

Disconnect any peripheral, including any usb Mouse.

 

Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu.  Press f9 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f5, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.  Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.

 

I hope that anything you know that could help would be appreciated. 

Connecting two external monitors to HP Pavilion x360

Hi,

 

I'm trying to connect two external monitors to an HP Pavilion x360 Convertible (Product number Z9D34EA#ABU).

 

I can run one external monitor from the HDMI connection.

 

I have an HDMI splitter, but can only get the second external monitor to replicate (not extend) the first external monitor.

 

I have a USB 3.0 to HDMI adaptor, but the laptop does not identify the additional screen when connected.

 

Please advise how to connect the 3rd monitor - I don't need high resolution / refresh, this is just for home-office work / intranet browsing.

Screen has big purple circle in top right corner

I purchased the highest spec Spectre X360 13" shortly after release, In Nov 17.

 

3mths later and I have a defective screen. Top right corner has a big purple circle that you can clearly see on dark screens (booting up is a good example)

 

For £1800, I am gutted. I love my laptop, but come on... this isnt on.

 

Trying to get through on the phone is a nightmare. What kind of support is this? If I cant get this resolved, I wont be purchasing again. Cant believe after 3mths I have such an issue!

 

Not a happy customer.
