I have purchased a new HP Pavilion Laptop 15-cc0xx laptop with an ELAN Clickpad. It is running Windows 10 -64bit. It doesn't have actual buttons, just designated zones on the touchpad. The settings for the "clicking" portion of the touchpad are set to 70% width for left click and 30% width for right click.
Often, even though I am clearly in the 70% left portion (all the way left), the laptop will right click. This probably happens 25% of the time. It also happens the other way around; when I am clearly all the way right and trying to right click, the laptop will left click. I have tried to change it to 80% to see if it's a zoning issue, but it still happens.
This is exceptionally annoying and the laptop is unusable for me if I can't control whether I'm left or right clicking. I have updated the drivers through HP Assistant and deleted/reinstalled them through the Recovery program. Is there anything else I can try?

I recently got a display X-Star DP2710 for my laptop. It is a 27" display running at 2560x1440, nearly at the max resolution of my laptop, a HP 2540p, which supports up to 2560x1600. The monitor has one input and that is a DVI-D input. I have a multiswitcher box that converts displayport to one of DVI(dual channel), HDMI, or VGA. The laptop lists the monitor in the settings, but without a resolution.
Any ideas out there?

I found this link in the HP forum (http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/envy-vs-pavillion.669607/) it was on the topic of Envy vs. Pavillion. Although in the conversation Envy is the far better machine. Another lad spoke of the back light bleed in all four corners. I spent big bucks on my very first self bought computer, I am now concerned about the choice I made. Anyone know anything about this issue? Because I'm about to return my laptop.

I have a HP ProDesk 400 G3 DM with 2 display ports at the back. One is built in and the second one is removable.
I cannot make my 2 screens work together. Windows detect only the one plugged to the built in port. If I unplug the main screen and reboot with only the second one plugged to the PC, the second works. I then plugged the main screen but windows didn’t detect it. I rebooted and the first screen worked but the second one stopped to work and is not detected by windows.
I ran windows and HP update without any luck. It looks to me like only one display port at the time is active.
Can you please help me? Thanks.

I received this PC less than two weeks ago.
Had a bunch of issues with it not working properly (CPU and Disk working at 95% + and computer getting really hot after just opening a web browser or paint).
After updating BIOS and all windows updates, this got better but now another problem emerged.
My screen have been starting to flicker. I found this thread https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/Flickering-screen-issue-in-HP-spectre-x360-15/td-p/6178723/page/2 and followed the advice to disabled the panel self refresh in the Intel Graphics settings but this did not help.
My problem is the same one as described in that thread.
Any suggestions on what to do?

Hi.I just bought my laptop a few months ago . It is HP Pavilion - 15-au104tx .
However , i realise there is some problems when I play game using this laptop .
When the laptop is not plugged in , the laptop will become lag while it can run smoothly when it is plugged in .
However , when it is plugged in , some strange lines will appear on screen but the problem will disappear when it is not plugged in .
The game I play is Dota 2 .I have already set all the settings of the game to low quality and graphic .
At the same time , I have already set the settings of the graphic and battery of the laptop to maximum performance .
However , the problem still appears .
Therefore , I hope that you can recommend me a solution as the warranty period has six months more .
This is a work laptop that was purchased 11 months ago. The screen will intermittently flicker to black for around 1-2 seconds unexpectedly.
The problem occurred 2 months after initial purchase but is now a regular occurrence, less than 12 months after purchase. I have updated drivers/BIOS etc and it still happens. It would seem there is a hardware issue.
The product is under warranty, but I can see no way through HP’s complex system to find someone to contact (email or phone number). A similar issued had previously happened on another HP laptop and considerable work was lost due to the laptop failing (completely) just after 12 months of use, conveniently when the warranty had expired.
Please can someone at HP advise on how they will fix the laptop and whom we should contact (in the UK) whilst the warranty is still valid.
I was looking for a stylus at wacom for my laptop since the hp stylus is not compatible with mine.
The wacom rep wanted to know if my laptop is a pen enabled windows device i.e. does it have MPP (microsoft pen protocol) because that is needed for the wacom bamboo ink to work?
Also I know that any rubber tip passive stylus will work but does the battery operated fiber-tip pens also work on this laptop to provide better accuracy?

hoi, op onze basisschool d'n hazennest gebruiken wij de HP X360 310 G1 convertible Pc's. Het heeft altijd goed gewerkt met onze vorige systeembeheerder (Heutink), maar sinds de Rolf groep onze pc's formateerde inclusief alle partities functioneerd op geen enkele machine de touchscreen meer. Dit komt omdat ze er windows 10 32bit op hebben gezet! en deze pc's doen het alleen met windows 8.1 64bit. We zijn nu ongeveer een half jaar verder en nu geven ze toe dat ze het probleem niet kunnen oplossen. Doordat ze het totale HP park in de schoolvakantie hebben geformateerd zijn wij ook niet in de mogelijkheid geweest om de recovery partitie veilig te stellen. We zitten nu dus met 80 niet correct werkende pc's en ik zou graag te weten komen hoe ik voor onze school aan een image kan komen om dit probleem te herstellen. Hopende dat er onder jullie forum mensen zitten met een probleem oplossend denkvermogen die ons willen helpen.
