Hi!
I am the happy owner of a ProBook 640 G2. Working fine for far BUT the colours on the screen are so strange.. so blueish. So I had the idea to find an ICC profile to get the good colours. In some forum of laptop testers, I find what I thought might be my Grail but once applied, the result was even worse... redish! Then tried to find the official ICC profile that could be included in HP video drivers... so I came here in HP Support... and then things became even stranger.
I entreed the Serial number found in the butt of my laptop and the HP database didnt find my beast... nothing.
So I entred the Product number and finally found... something looking like a laptop but very different of mine... not only colour and material but also... generation. Right now I am typing on my "HP ProBook 640 G2 Notebook PC" but the HP database told me I have a thing called "HP - 14-am019la".
Now I just dont know what to do. Download the display drivers of both laptops, trying to find ICM files and try both profiles? Must I go outside for a while and try to enjoy Mother Nature's fruits?
Can someone here try to explain why it looks so difficult to finally have real colours on my HP laptop?
Thanks a lot by advance.
Hello, just like with other HP notebooks I had in the past, I have problems with the video. Part of it is either black or black or covered with multiple vertical coloured lines. I don't it's a software problem, I think it's an hardware issue. I just wanted to know your opinions before taking it to a support centre.
Kind regads
HP Accelerometer does not work with this version of Windows.

Hi! this is the 3rd time i put this in here.
I got a new PC at least 3 months from now, the thing is i got FPS problems in all games when i use Nvidia card.
No metter the game i all ways get FPS drops like the pc is over heated, why? Exemple, im playing whit 100 fps and they go down to 10~ fps for some seconds and they come back and so on...
I already sended the pc back to the place i bought to fix it but it came back the same, but now it had one more problem... 100 disc usage. But i think i fixed it by reseting the virtual memory, at least now is in normal use.
Any way, if i play games using the intel card i dont have those problems, off corse i cant play allmost nothing since the intel sucks for gaming. I tryed every thing (updates/downgrades/factory set, chaning defenitions in nvidia controll panel and so on, nothing works, i simple get fps drops no metter what.
Games for Exemple:
League of legends on max grafs:Nvidia 180~ fps-i get fps drops / intel 120~ dont have fps drops
Tera:hight/low light/shadows nvida 50~ fps- get fps drops randomly / intel 28~ fps dont have fps drops
CS:go: medium nvidia 100~ fps-got fps drops / intel 50 fps dont get fps drops.
The other games that need more from the video card i cant obviously use intel.
I readed a lot of forums and some other Pc´s seem to have a similar problem whit the Nvidia GeForce 940mx.
I readed that putting my cpu usage lower could solve the problem since they get hot together(gpu and cpu)
so i dont use max performance, i use HP recomended so the cpu is not all ways at 3.40.
I did see some better performance but i still get fps drops no metter what, i even put those games of exemple on very low qualitie but doesnt change nothing.
I dont know what to do anymore.
PC specs:
Intel i7-7500u 2,7(max 3.4)
Nvidia GeForce 940MX 2gb
8Ram
1TB hdd
intel graphics hd 620
I put here some links of people having the same problem whit the 940mx:

http://www.tomsguide.com/answers/id-3228765/fps-drops-suddenly-games.html
Those are some exemples, i tryied a lot of them, nothing changes....
Also forgot to put this here: the game 6rainbow siege doesn't happens any fps drops, funny beocuse its a heavy game for the pc...
Hello,
I have a HP-15 laptop with integrated and dedicated AMD GPUs. The integrated one is a R5, the dedicated is AMD R8...
The problem I have is everything is running on the integrated one, even when under the AMD RADEON SETTINGS > Preferences, I request High Performance for the application. For example, I got the new Rome II Total War Empire Divided extension through Steam, and even though I have requested for it to run on the dedicated GPU, it is still running on the integrated one and it's lagging a lot, it's unplayable.
I think I should be able to use the dedicated GPU somehow, because I've paid for it. I've disabled the integrated R5 with the hopes of the laptop running on R8, it didn't work, it ran on some windows back up display instead which was worse. I've tried to switch it in BIOS, it's not there.
My question is: How can I use the dedicated GPU to run certain apps, like games?
Thank you in advance.
The PC works perfect when connected to an external monitor, but the display (screen) is totally blank on its own.
I just purchased a new HP Pavilion Notebook 15-au062nr and i have a problem with video resolution being clear. This laptop is supposed to be full HD but when viewing videos online or offline, I noticed the video resolution on my old laptop which was only 1366x768 resolution viewed videos more clearer. With games, the graphics are fine, but when playing they are not 1080 resolution clear. Graphics driver is Intel Graphics 520 running with a i5-6200U processor.
Dear Sir/Madam,
Merry Christmas!
I just purchased the HP Envy 13-ad009nv laptop. I will purchase also a monitor to connect it with the aforementioned product at my office however it seems that the laptop does not have neither a VGA port nor a HDMI. How could i make this connection and which type of monitor characteristics should i search for before buying it?
Thank you

Hello,
as of now it seems as if I could not run my Mixed Reality Headset with my notebook.
The mixed reality portal is asking for at least driver model WDDM 2.2 or better to run it, but I only got drivers with WDDM 2.1. AMD alreadys offers drivermodel 2.3.
Will it be supported or should I give my headset back? Or is there a way to just let the AMD one be installed on the machine?
Best regards

Hello, I own a dv6 laptop (this one)
I broke the right hinge (was already broken but I bringed the laptop outside my home and it got worse), now it seems like the laptop won't turn on, the power led is on, but when I start it it just stops running after 1-2 seconds, neither the BIOS isn't booting. Could the fault be given to the hinge or is the problem located somewhere else? Like an unplugged cable or so?
Thanks

I am facing the same issue.
This thread is absolutely pathetic customer service. One generic post by HP rep and no solution.
Next time, take the time to post step by step solution and not waste your customers time by providing useless links.
w@@)&H flat panel monitor....Product number GM757AA, On the face top left and in the center, it says HDMI, VGA and HDMI inputs. I have looked all over and cannot find an HDMI port? Where could it be? Thanks
I installed windows 10 on my 8770w Elitebook. The FN keys don't work to adjust brightness. When I change brightness in the windows mobility center, nothing happens on the display. Other features via this application do work.
I must be missing a driver or something. What do I need to do or find?
The keyboard and touchpad do not work on the notebook. HP support provides these instructions:
The instructions in red say what to do if the keys are working in the setup menu, but it doesn't say what to do if the arrow keys don't work. I hit the escape key and the setup menu shows up. But the arrow keys do not work.
I followed the instructions to uninstall all the keyboard devices and restart, which reloaded a keyboard driver. They keyboard still does not work.
Please advise.
