I just purchased the envy 13-ad115tu and the adapter to connect the usb-c port to the HDMI cable of my external monitor.
So far my laptop could not detect the external monitor. Tried with different HDMI cable and different monitor but it does not work. I could not find a solution online. Can this be solved or this usb-c port does not support connection with HDMI? how can I connect an external monitor otherwise?

I have two OS on my PC; Kali Linux 2017.1 x64 and Windows 10 Pro x64. Touchpad is not working already on Kali Linux anyway, I turned on Windows after I turned off kali and the screen that was running before was not working. I tried this solve but still not working.

All of the Functions buttons on the keyboard top row appear to be 'active' ALL of the time without having to press the FN button to use them. Is this how they are supposed to work? I thought it would be necessary to press the FN button in conjunction with the F(x) button to get that function to be performed.

I'm having issues when I connect my Spectre to an external monitor (have tried several, same issue) via HDMI. The icons on the right side of the bottom tool bar (wireless, power, sound...) continually expand & contract (like it is fighting for space in that section of the screen). The laptop seems to slow down when this happens. This only occurs when I close the lid of laptop. The font sizes become small and more information fits on the screen (which is good). When I leave the top lid of the laptop open, this does not occur, and the font sizes are much larger and less information fits on the screen.
Pls advise.

I am wanting to set up the hardware where both monitors are used and the notebook screen.
One monitor is connected by VGA cable to the docking station. This monitor works when the laptop is in the docking station.
The other monitor will not show. I have tried using the monitor HDMI connected to the Docking station Display Port using an HDMI to Display port adapter. I have tried using the monitor DVI connected to the Docking station Display Port using an DVI to Display port adapter.
I have tried the setup with both of the Docking Stations. I have taken off the VGA from monitor 1 and put it on monitor 2 and it does work.
Is this just not a possible set up?
I have had this computer for about 3 months now, and the Windows Hello feature was working fine. Recently, the camera does not seem to activate when the computer wakes up. It works occasionally, but not all the time. The login page seems to think that Windows Hello is active, but the camera doesn't seem to have turned on. I've tried searching for the Windows Hello driver to update or reinstall it, but it doesn't seem to be installed under the system devices.
In addition, whenever I use a video chat program (i.e. Skype, Zoom, Google Hangouts) the only camera to turn on is the IR camera, so the picture looks black and white and flickers in and out. The driver for this camera seems to be hidden somewhere also, because I still can't find it either.
Since buying this computer, I updated it to the developer program so I could run Linux commands in the terminal, and maybe that could've messed with the camera features. Can someone please help with this?

bought the Spectre x360 a few months ago, Great laptop in almost every aspect, except when I had a problem with the screen. Recently called HP support to try and get some basic warranty coverage when for no reason (no drops, bumps, or anything) the screen develops two hairline fractures in the top right corner.
I called and spoke with an HP representative and he stated that it might have been due to squeezing it too hard or something like that, sent pictures and he states it was damaged and warranty doesn't cover that.
Not happy that my $1500 laptop will crack under normal use after only a few months.. .
I need assistance from HP with this. I've been a faithful HP customer for years and would love to recommend their products, but the one time I get one of their "premium" laptops the screen just cracks? This is terrible and I expect better from such an expensive product.
Hello. I have the Star Wars Special Edition Notebook. I need to wipe it and reinstall windows, but don't want to lose all the Star Wars content. Will that come back when I do this? If not, is there a way to save the content to reinstall after the Windows reset?

I bought an external monitor to use with my laptop (AOS, 1920). When I first plugged it in with the HDMI, it worked fine(although I only get 1326). When I turned it off and restarted it, the monitor will not go on. I order to get it to work, I have to do a hard reset on the computer and monitor, then set the res to 1024. When the monitor goes on, I can set it to 1326. I checked for undates at both hp and windows, and they are up to date. When I gol to display settings, the external monitor is not detected and I have no advanced settings available. Is there anything else I can do?

My hp use to connect to the wireless display just fine and not sure what happen whent to connect it and it trys to connect but then stops no error messages or anything just stops the connection and send the roku devise i use back to home screen.

I just bought an HP Envy 13-ad010ns and an usbc to HDMI adapter. Computer seems that recognize the adapter and the screen makes a blink, but the screen keeps in sleep mode and don´t show anything.
I have been having a problem with the touchpad (Synaptics Gesture Suite) on my HP 2-in-1 Spectre laptop (Windows 10)ever since I bought it (August 30, 2017). Changing the sensitivity does not help. The cursor is at times not sensitive/fast enough, and at other times is too sensitive, jumping around erratically. Worse, the left-right click frequently brings out the window for the right-click, while the latter is not being touched at all. This happens even when I very strictly try to click in the leftmost lowest corner of the touchpad.
I have a service plan with the Geek Squad/Best Buy and they said that they have heard of such problems before and the touchpad likely needs a replacement. However, this could take "2 to 4" weeks according to them, because the laptop would be sent to their headquarters in Kentucky. They also said that the laptop would not come back "before Christmas" (i.e., 20+ days from now). I cannot be without a laptop for a month, as I need it for work!
So, I paid a computer shop to check it out and they updated various drivers, thinking that this fixed the problem, but it did not. Besides, I can see that the touchpad driver in particular is from August 2017 (perhaps the last version?). One can easily get deceived for a short period of time that there is no problem, if trying just a few standard cursor movements with the touchpad.
I see that there are various touchpad settings other than sensitivity - so, I am not totally sure that all options are exhausted and the touchpad really needs a replacement. The HP virtual support assistant has a suggestion re. an "erratic" touchpad, to increase the PalmCheck setting for Windows 10, from the Control Panel, but their instructions do not match the settings on my laptop at all, and I cannot find such an option.
