New out of the box. Cursor irratically keeps going to upper left corner of screen. Does this constantly with no regard to input device such as touchpad or wireless mouse. Where ever cursor is on screen it will disappear and reappear in upper left corner where recycle bin is when activating input device again. There is also an occasional video glitch of some kind in the upper left corner which also appearred duriing bootup. HP diagnostics comes up clean. Reinstall driver .... no change. Complete factory recovery does not resolve. This issue also occurs while in the UEFI bios which leads me to suspect a possible hardware issue. This should be the same as testing in safe mode windows. As yet I have not checked to see if there is a newer bios version for this. If anyone knows the resolution I would be grateful.

Display Issues
I have an anooying starfield that pops up on the left 1/4 of my display. It is a touchscreen. Occasionally, the screen the goes black with vertical lines flickering and I cannot see anyhting on the screen. When that happens, I plug in my external monitor and set that as the default display. Any ideas. It seems to me a hardware issue. Drivers have been updated as they are issued.

What can I do if my touchscreen emulates a person pressing it in one spot repeatedly?
Every time I use the laptop, at a random point in time my touch screen will emulate a person pressing the screen repeatedly, drawing mouse focus and making it impossible to use the laptop without rebooting. I have ruled out software, updating all drivers and firmware for the touchscreen, bios, mousepad, and have all Windows updates. This does not go away when logging off, or using other user profiles. I also ran the onboard graphics tests - no failures reported. I beleive it is hardware related (touchscreen). I attempted several times to get support using the Log Me In chat, but a session gets created, and I wait up to 20 minutes before ending the unacknowledged session.
1. Can someone help me validate the issue I am having, or have other HP touchscreen users seen this?
Note: If you press your finger on the touchscreen, and see the ring that lights up under your finger, that is what appears rapidly (100x per minute fast) in one spot.
2. Does HP replace touchscreens under warranty?

Docking Station with multiple Monitors
I have an HP docking station for my laptop. Trying to hookup two monitors. One monitor im using VGA to VGA. The one monitor is using DVI-D to DVI-D. Only one monitor will work at a time. I also have a DVI-D to DVI cord. This method did not work either. I think perhaps I am missing a display driver? How do I get both monitors to work at the same time?

defective touch pads on brand new HP Pavilion 15 laptop
I bought a brand new HP Pavilion 15 last month and within the first week, the keyboard and touch pad completely stopped working and I had to return the laptop to the store for replacement.
Now I've had the new HP Pavilion 15 laptop for about 2 weeks and the touch pad stops working intermittently and freezes up regularly.
I see forums discussing how to troubleshoot and fix your touchpad but my question is, why would 2 out of 2 brand new laptops be defective? These were purchased from Office Depot.
I have had my HP ProBook for 4+ years and never once had a problem with the touchpad or keyboard (other than the letters wearing off the keys within the 1st six months).
Is this a cheap manufacturing issue? Failure to test products before they were shipped? Is this product under any kind of recall or warranty issue because of this issue? Is this a known malfunction issue with this particular model?
I bought the overpriced 2 year warranty so I am sure I can take it back to the store to get it fixed or replaced but after just going through this less than 3 weeks ago, moving 5+ years of data files from one laptop to another and back again, this is a MAJOR inconvenience. Before I decide which laptop to get next I want to know why this is happening and what can be done about it?
HP is supposed to be a quality brand and this model does not live up to the brand's reputation.

Replaced screen on Envy x360; touch no longer works
My HP Envy x360 PC fell off my bed and broke the screen.
My father bought the exact replacement screen, making sure it was touch enabled and exactly the same as the original, and replaced it. Everything works fine...
Except my touch screen doesn't work. At all.
Everything is connected properly and there is no apparent reason my touch screen shouldn't work. We've tried everything on the trouble shooting list online and on the computer itself, as well as recalibrating the screen, updating, and checking the touch settings.
There's no feedback of any kind. The touch screen just plain does not work.
Can somebody PLEASE tell me how to fix this, because I am NOT happy. It's the exact part, installed correctly, and doesn't work.

HP Spectre x360 13 inch black screen after windows login
2 days ago I started it up and windows login screen appears. I can enter my password and it authenticates then screen goes black. mouse works fine, can get to task manager using ctrl-alt-del.
black screen remains for about 8 mins. and desktop then appears.
I have followed recommendations to default BIOS, remove McCaffee etc. still to no avail. used hp assistant to install all updates, still not resolution.
Grumpy as hell, as I purchased this instead of a macbook :-(

Touch Energy Star 15-af175nr touch pad (and now touchscreen) fail right after startup
Touch pad started failing last week. Warranty expired end of may. Have tried numerous suggestions here and elsewhere on the web: update bios; update driver; rollback driver; reduce sensitivity; disable touch; disable touchpad altogether and use touchscreen. All were temporary fixes and the screen freakouts came more often.
Now both the touchpad and touchscreen fail soon after startup.
I just need it stable enough to retrieve my data.

HP 17-bs043cl Touchscreen, touchpad not responsive at times
New unit purchased from COSTCO. Love it but there are times I find myself single tapping the touch pad multiple times trying to get a response. I've tried light taps, hard taps and taps in every area of the pad with no success and I have been using touch pads for years. Not consistent but VERY ANNOYING when it does. Also some issue with the touchscreen, at times trying to touch the box to close a screen and no response.
Love it and want to keep it but unless their is an easy fix I'm ready to take it back....Thanks for any help.

Envy 360 screen having very light yellow line from top to bottom
I bought HP envy 360 from from USA. But moved to India for business reason. I observed a very light yellow line on laptop screen which runs top to bottom. India HP is not supporting because the product is not marketed in India. I am travelling to USA again just want to know how much time will it take and do i get technical home support or i'll have to visit a service center.

HP Replicator not refreshing browser windows
Hi Everybody,
My port replicator (or the software that drives it) is giving me headaches. It's a long story, but the following is the case:
- I received a new laptop (HP ZBook 17 G3) with port replicator (PR) software installed. It worked fine with the PR's in my workplace: two 24'' screens, keyboard and mouse attached.
- I took the laptop home and attached a Samsung tv screen via HDMI. The laptop got stuck.
- I had had this experience before so I uninstalled the PR software. Then I could use the tv screen via HDMI.
- Coming back to the workplace, I reinstalled the PR software, from the PR attached
- all applications worked fine on the two screens mentioned before. Except: IE, FireFox and Chrome! They freeze and only refresh when I move them between screens.
- I de-installed the PR software, and got a newer driver version from the HP website. I don't remember which one exactly, but that doesn't matter: it didn't help.
- I searched on and found a yet newer driver version (july 2017). It works better, only to the extent that the freezing only occurs after, say, half an hour.
Restarting the computer helps, sometimes, but a better solution would be appreciated.
I had the same problem with a ZBook G1. My ICT support couldn't fix it and decided to hand me a replacement laptop (the G3).
Does anyone have the same experience and/or a solution?

graphic card
hi all
i have a problem with graphic card (standard VGA graphic card==),that don`t want to run.
the only way i found to open the PC is start it with VGA disabled,but like that i can`t do anything that require a little bit of graphic.
bytheway, if i run my pc with that graphic card actived it will shut down after 3 min, or better in windows 8 black screen and then shut down , in win 7 onlyblack screen... can you help me?

Black screen after logon

After loging in my laptop screen is black for about ten minutes before everything starts again. This is after a shutdown and i tryed to take the unit to a prev windows update and new use all that windows is saying. I bought it at costco so ia am thinking of returning it. Windows 10 Task Bar Moving Around
I have a problem with an HP Spectre X360 with Windows 10, the icons on the task bar (I think that's what it's called, bottom right of desktop) started jumping around, sort of flashing on and off and moving by themselves.
The problem is coused from the Touch Screen when the notebook is close, infact not is present if the screen is open and not is present if I put something in between the keyboard and display for spacing it when the display is closed.
I have installed the last update driver sp79383, but the problem persist.
There is a updated Driver? o an other solution?

Search Bar
Hi, I had a awful problem on here yesterday, in fact it took my entire evening. I was reading some answers to a question i had (sort of) My question was Why do I all of a sudden, have a search bar, next to my browser in the top of my laptop screen. All the the questions and answers i found were, How to get rid of this search bar (which i do want to do as well) Most importtant to me, is WHY it just appeared there in the 1st place? Where did it come from? Could it be a red flag that someone is hacking my computer? etc?
