Have had notebook since 9/2016.  Problem started 12/2016.  Elitebook 850 with UltraSlim docking station.  Two HP LA2206x monitors.  Windows 10 and ALL drivers are up to date.

 

Screen(s) (randomly 1 or the other) goes black for around 10 seconds.  This happens 3-4 times a day on average, sometimes 2 or 3 times an hour on bad days.  IT guy has:

 

Switched docking station with someone else in office.  They had no problems over 2 weeks.  No change in my problem.

Replaced cables with new DVI and DisplayPort.  (currently using DisplayPort)  - No change

Replaced docking station - No change

Troubleshooted with HP over phone, then finally sent it back to HP and they replaced the mother board - No change

Switched out notebook for brand new Elitebook 850 - No change.

 

We are stumped at this point.  If it was just one of the monitors doing it, I'd say it was a bad monitor but what is the chance of both monitors starting to go out at the same time?

 

Anyone have any ideas?  Really hate to replace the monitors if they are ok.

My screen brightness changes every team I unplug the charger. It goes from maximum brightness to low/dim. I've checked the power settings and I put everything on high. I've already turned off the adaptive brightness

hi there, actually i play a few games on my laptop. they is a big lag in gameplay in even simple and basic games while when connected to power supply it works fine. i cannot take my switch board everywhere so please help. i searched everywhere about this thing but didnt find any solution.i tried updating the drivers, changing the configurations and even changing the game. my graphic card isNVIDIA GEFORCE 940MX 2GB AND INTEL HD GRAPHICS 2 GB DEDICATED.

I have a pc which has intel hd graphics 2 gb and the game works fine in it but lags in laptop. Please help. URGENT

1.Sometimes my cursor stucks at a point until I connect an external moue or restart my system to get rid of it, the touchpad shows this problem frequently,any technical guidance is appriciated.

2.Secodly I find my brightness adjust buttons F2 & F3 helpless when I need the brightnes to be altered, I get lucky sometimes but it is not usal.I can't even change my brightness from control panel. Any help is appriciated.

I cracked the glass screen cover on my LCD screen causing the right half of the touch screen to stop working. The LCD screen itself was not damaged and continued to function. I took the machine to a local computer repair store thinking the glass cover over the LCD screen could be replaced. Since the glass is apparently fused to the LCD screen, this repair is apparently not feasible.

The tech replaced the full LCD screen twice. The screen works each time but the touch portion (digitizer) will not respond using either new screen. I am at a loss of what the issue is and how to fix it. The tech is at a loss, too, apparently. Anyone have ideas about how to fix this? Can only HP repair this? The unit is nearly 2 years old. Thanks.

wheneverI put in a movie disk, nothing happens. I have no idea why, though, because this is the first time I've tried to watch a movie with my computer. I've asked my friend what should happen, and she said a screen should pop up, but that hasn't happened, despite me being able to hear it inside of my computer. I just want to be able to watch a movie while on a plane or in a car, so me not being able to at home is slightly agitating. Please help if possible.

Hp desktop moderl no: H-IG41-uATX Problem display I WAS SENT THE INFORMATION IN SHORT DAYS FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT STILL MACHINE DISTURBS ME.

 

This machine was cut suddenly to display I use blower machine to wakeup it help but still there is another problem, when I switch on it display and if I will restart or to switch off so as to switch on again, It will work on fain no reset light, hdd light stane by light no any light wich can show me that this machine is on no no any light and even display.

 

I tried to change a new power supply, a new Ram same model, Processor and without connection of any cable except  fan only it still rotate fans but no display or any light which show that this machine is on.

 

In short I tried to do some process but still is confusing me for display I need a help brothers.

Hello.
Recently I bought a supossedly new HP Note 15. The dealer told me it has a 4GB dedicated GPU. I looked through all the models of HP Note 15 and none had a 4gb GPU. Now the problem is that when I run any video game it absolutely kills the performance. The fps is unacceptable. Even games that should run smoothly tend to turn into a slide show

I have downloaded the AMD GPU software where you can decide which GPU is being used when playing games etc. I have changed the power options to best performance and nothing seems to work. A 4GB card should be able to run older games like WoW without a problem yet it is terrible. I updated all the drivers and still nothing seems to work.

I need some help with this guys ;(

Hi, I have a problem. My HP Zbook 15 G2 goes to sleep by himself while I'm working on it. It doesn't matter if I'm browsing on ethernet or if I'm using a code editor or anything else. It just goes in sleep mode.

At first I've thought that maybe is a software problem, so I deleted Windows an installed Centos on it, but the problem persists. Any idea if how I could solve this problem? It really makes me unproductive.

Hi there. I recently updated to windows 10 on my HP Probook 470 g3. Now the fn screen brightness keys do not work. The volume keys work just fine? anyhelp would be awesome. I know other people have had this issue. thanks guys

I am using HP ENVY Notebook 13-d117TU with window 8.1. it is ok using window 8.1 in a few months. now i am facing the display problem. My notebook display is like a crush. Please give me any advice . Is it hardware problem or software problem.

I'd like to conect the NB with the SONY Bravia KDL-40EX523  using HDMI (or others if it is possible) and use the TV as a monitor. From side of the TV, a plot "RGB in pc " is. Is it correctly? Unfortunately, I do not know where I may buy such cable/ cord?  Please, advice, thanks, in advance.

Is there a monitor that will also power the Omen laptop (17.3") and then maybe have extra USB3 ports. Need a second power supple and love this on my old Mac monitor.

I've been trying to fix my HDMI button on my Hp envy 23 recline all-in-one PC (modle: k010)

After the window's 10 update, my button seemed to not work anymore.

I thought it was nothing after I did a factory reset, and it worked.

Unfortunately, windows 10 reinstalled itself, and deleted windows 8.1

I figured this was a drivers problem, so I spent endless hours trying to fix the drivers for it, and went on the forms to try to download my drivers.

There isn't a windows options for window's 10 on the drivers list on the hp website, and I really want to use my HDMI button again.

Can't always get the '@' sign to come up!

I try pushing buttons but still can't get the @ button to come up. I'm in total shock and disbelief that it's coming up now.  So why is it doing it now?? When I really need it, so I can enter my email address, it wont work. All I get is two. Tried any number of buttons, ctrl, fn, alt. But it only works when it wants to. Bet it works now @ . Yep, so why won't it work when I really need it? Took me ages to sign up to this foraum, as it went on strike! Nothing in the instruction book.

 

Oh and I'm not a student. I'm an old fart.

 

Someone please help. I'm over it.

I have a 2016 HP x360 Spectre (the 15 inch) with 4k monitor.  I just bought an HP Envy curved ultrawide 34" monitor.

 

This laptop has an HDMI port, so I connected the laptop to the monitor via HDMI cable.  At first the monitor said something like "no signal" then it flickered with a sort of duplicate of my laptop screen, then went dark, then gave me another "no signal" message, then flikered, then another sort of duplicate of my laptop screen. These duplicate images only last a second, then the part where it is dark or saying "no signal" lasts about 8 seconds.

 

Meanwhile, after I connected the monitor, my laptop screen also started flickering every 8 seconds or so, kind of like when the ultrawide flickered the screen for a second, that was when my laptop screen would flicker dark.  In addition to the annoying flicker, my laptop display settings also got funky, presumably from the ultrawide pushing settings onto it?  I don't know, but suddently things were zoomed, and screwed up.

 

I went into display settings and advanced, and lowered the resolution to something I knew was within the scope of the ultrawide, in case that was the issue.  While that did change my display a bit, it was still funky and flickering the same way, no fix.

 

I also tried switching to using only the external monitor, did not help.

 

I have read the HP guide on using an external monitor with an HP notebook, and I did everything it said to do, and it simply does not address this problem.
