Horisontal stripes on BIOS/boot screen

Hi!

I have the following issue with my laptop. When I turn it on, text characters appear misplaced and their position is shifted even before Windows booting screen. As it boots to Windows, chess-like patterns are present on the welcome screen. I can access Task Manager (by using Ctrl+Alt+Del), but that is pretty much I can do. It operates normally in the Safe Mode, but horizontal stripes are there on the screen. As I move cursor through them, they disappear, but return again as the arrow moves away. Can you tell me, what might be wrong and how I can fix it?

Thank you in advance

Touch screen

Hello,

I have two Elitebook 820 G3s on which the touch driver has been correctly installed, however there are no options anywhere in control panel regarding touch.

The hardware is enabled in the BIOS and I've tried multiple solutions from similar issues with no success. Any way to get the touchscreen working?

HP Note 15 - with a 4 gb AMD R7 M440 GPU

Hello.
Recently I bought a supossedly new HP Note 15. The dealer told me it has a 4GB dedicated GPU. I looked through all the models of HP Note 15 and none had a 4gb GPU. Now the problem is that when I run any video game it absolutely kills the performance. The fps is unacceptable. Even games that should run smoothly tend to turn into a slide show Smiley Wink

I have downloaded the AMD GPU software where you can decide which GPU is being used when playing games etc. I have changed the power options to best performance and nothing seems to work. A 4GB card should be able to run older games like WoW without a problem yet it is terrible. I updated all the drivers and still nothing seems to work.

I need some help with this guys ;(

Excuse me if this question was answered already,  awhile ago something popped open on my laptop that asked me something about changing the color of my screen (can't remember exactly).  There were different colors but I chose pink but everything has a  pinkish tent to it, even the interent brower. How do I change it back to it's orginal setting?

All colors on desktop, photos, etc. are too intense. I know how to adjust brightness but not how to adjust color intensity or contrast.

Excessive laptop backlight bleed

This laptop has unacceptable backlight bleed along the left edge and in the top right corner of the screen. It has been back to HP twice for repair and they refuse to fix it. They say that this amount of light bleed is acceptable for their computers.

The escalation manager I spoke to said that this was a mid range machine and implied that I should not expect much for the money I paid. However, my backup machine is a little laptop I bought new for $99 from a Chinese manufacturer and the light bleed on its screen is well within acceptable levels. He then said that light bleed is not detectable when viewing light images on a screen (correct) and that maybe the problem is that I am trying to look at too many dark images on the laptop, and that I would notice the light bleed less if I view lighter images on the laptop. In other words,  "don't display dark things on the screen and you won't notice it". ?!?!? Seriously??? I replied that, obviously, a laptop should be capable of displaying the spectrum of images correctly on screen from black to white including everything in between.

Has anyone else had issues with HP and excessive light bleed and refusals to fix? I would like this issue fixed but I am thinking that I should just chalk it up to experience - HP's acceptable quality level for its screens is clearly very low and maybe I should in future just go with manufacturers that have higher quality standards.

When GPU usage is high, major stutter if laptop is tilted or moved

Hi there, so I've had my laptop 3 years. When I play any game that engages the GPU (League of Legends/World or Warcraft etc) it works fine and runs smoothly...UNTIL the laptop either tilts or is physically picked up/moved. The laptop does feel very hot to the touch despite air flowing in and out the relevant vents.

At this point the entire screen freezes, audio sounds like it's dragging the sound out, and does not resume normal service until left perfectly still for approximately 2-3 minutes. During the last 30 seconds or so the actions on the screen stutter faster and faster until smooth once again.

Throughout the whole ordeal, mouseclicks and key strokes are registered as if nothing's wrong.

This has been happening for as long as I remember. I've checked drivers are up to date, I've set CPU power settings to 99%, I've removed bloatware etc etc etc.

Has anyone seen these symptoms before? Is my GPU just a dud? If so, what newer versions is this laptop compatible with?

Touch pad/screen unresponsive

The touch pad for the mouse and touch screen on the tablet are unresponsive. Tried turning it off and back again numerous times. Was using it just fine earlier and an update with a countdown was prompted. Clicked to accept(previously, would allow update to begin but it was never able to finish for unknown reasons) and after the tablet started up from the update attempt, the touch pad and screen were not working. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

HP 17-f113dx connectable with a monitor?

Hi HP,

I bought a HP laptop 17-f113dx several years ago and I am wondering if I can connect a monitor with the laptop, so that I can use both as a dual monitor (the laptop screen + the monitor).

Is there any limitation on the monitor to be purchased? (e.g. any specific type of monitors that this laptop does not support in terms of graphics, etc.?)

Thank you.

Reg : Brightess unavilable in Windows 8 HP Pavilion MODEL 14-N014SE

I have a HP Pavilion MODEL 14-N014SE laptop.
The brightness keys do not work at all and windows brightness icon shows unavailble.

and also if i look Genric Non Pnp Monitor Adapter it shows Adapter information as follows

chip type: <unavailable>

DAC Type:<unavailable>

Adapter String : <unavailable>

BIOS Information : <unavailable>

i dont know whether this is caused by graphic driver problem or not. i have tried with all graphic drivers available in hp support portal. But still the issue exists

I also called HP, and they did offer to swap out the laptop, but again, not worth the aggravation just for brightness keys.
Does anyone have any other ideas or suggestions? This must be some sort of bug that HP is aware of, no?

Please help me to resolve this problems.
