i have recently bought a HP pavillion 15 notebook. it was working fine untill i noticed a problem with its LCD.
whenever i set the brightness to minimun it changes automatically. whereas i set the brightness to max it doesnt changes.
i have disabled the ambient light sensors as well just to see if that was interfering with screen brightness but no use.
then i updated the BIOS and ran diagnostics and everything was ok.

I recently bought an Envy 17" with Touchsmart and Windows 8. Upgraded to 8.1.
The screen fails to recognize touch, then after I restart, it works fine. Kind of a nuisance to start computer, and immediately have to restart, to use touch. What can I do to correct ?

I've added an auxillary screen via the HDMI port on my new Pavillion Sleekbook and would like to configure it to be an extension of my laptop screen. On other machines there's a function key.
Currently, when connecting, it simply is a copy of my laptop screen.
I have a envy 4-1025-tx with window 8
amd hd 7670m + intel hd 4000
when ever I install graphic driver from hp offical site my screen start flickeering.
any solutions for it....................?

I have an Envy 17" Laptop with 8.1 windows. The first screen I personalized was the Piano keyboard which was a choice in the beginning of setting up. Then when I added photos to my computer, it automatically chose one that I don't particularly like to replace the keyboard which I wanted to keep as the beginning screen. I don't know how to get it back -- anyone?

(I know I can fix this in the biaos by increasing the memory allocated to the grapics card but I can not see anywhere to change this)

The backlight comes on, but no picture is output during bios, boot, or ever at all.
If you plug in an external monitor, everytihng works fine.
I had a replacement lcd lying around, and this does not fix the problem. It appears there is no inverter board, only some little speakers...

I just bought a HP ZBOOK 17 with ''Nvidia Quadro k3100'' graphic board . so far so good. as far as i tested it, ( mentioning autocad architectural and 3DS Max 2014) it says that the graphic board in use is Intel HD 4600 Grahic Card :( and that's not what i want. It says that, in order to use ''Nvidia Quadro k3100'' i should extend my desktop on to multiple monitor, using HDMI cable connection. But most of the time i am out of my house ( mobile workstation ) so i can't take another monitor with me. can anyone help me? what should i do to use ''THE'' graphic card ?

I have a lot of problems with my hp 3126er,after install video drivers in device manager i see ati radeon 5650 and intel hd , but after restart notebook during startup windows 7 i see picture and after "welcome" display turned off .:smileyindifferent:
I tried many versions with official sources, does not help, so the display does not work. I have tried to remove drivers in safe mode, it works. Sadly I lost the drive with recovery managery. What should I do please help

hello i have a notebook hp g62 and i have a problem with it is a model with i3 processor and ati hd 5470 and i have a problem with it wen i turn it on the back light just opens a half of a second at start and then is off and doesn'tt comes on i measure it with a multimeter on the lvds at screen at pin 35 witch is dim control and i fount a 0 volt on it actually the functioning of it is from 0.7 volt to 2.5 volt so 0.7 v is wen display is low brightness and 2.5 v wen is on full and i measure the pin 36 witch is pwm on backlight and has 3.3 volt on it so if i can get a bit of help with a illumination circuit datasheet i will be very thankfully or the cip witch controls illumination and i have bot it with no lcd so i have a 15.6 led full hd display witch i want to mount on it but it sees the 1920x1080 resolution but look's like some pixels are missing and is going to a white trend and i am very curios if some one has done this before and what do i need for it just a lvds with all wires attached or some other parts to attach on motherboard? I hope a technician from service or some qualified personal can answer's me to my question.
I have two very narrow lines down the center of my hp pavillion dv9700 entertainment notebook. Otherwise screen works perfectly. Is there a simple way to get rid of those?
My screen on my HP635 goes black for like a second sometimes when my laptop is a little hot and on my lap. Is this just b/c its overheating?

Hi all, I havn't turned my laptop on in awhile, But I just noticed it when I turned it on. I got it right around Christmas (Pavilion 17-e049wm) that there's a Thick line about an Inch in size but it goes up half the screen on the right hand corner starting at the bottom and It's white on a blue background, No Phyisical damage was done to it, It wasn't turned on for long periods of times I don't even keep the battery in it when I'm in my Bedroom. Any ideas what could cause it? or how to Fix?
