I'm looking for my webcam but can't seem to find it, and I get a message that a webcam is not detected. Can anyone help me please? :( I know I have a webcam installed on my laptop, it was there when I bought it 4 years ago, but all of a sudden, it has vanished!

Hello, I encountered strange issue with HP 6465b and video drivers. The last one to be working for me is 8982108121003A1147882C (22 X 2012) aka sp59440.exe, which is recommended for Windows 8 64bit. However, any newer version, starting with offical AMD/ATI Catalysts 13.4, literally kills 3D acceleration of integrated GPU in APU (Radeon 6520g): After about 5 minutes since login, it seems that 3D acceleration just stops working. Not just in games, that run super slow, but even windows and menus rendering in Windows is slow and choppy. Interestingly, I found out that this behaviour happens only when wifi/ethernet adapters are enabled. When I disable them, everything just works fine.
I would stick with mentioned driver version, however I have updated my Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 and these drivers are pre-8.1, so I am currently experiencing issues with Flash that seems to be GPU driver related.
So far I have tried to reinstall/update wifi and ethernet drivers and tried different Catalyst versions; it seems this issue starts with Catalysts 13.4 and continues with 13.8 (integrated catalyst version in Win 8.1), official HP AMD video driver for Windows 8.1 64bit (13.152-130830A-162083C (18 X 2013) aka sp63570.exe) and even newest 13.12. Also, I confirmed it happens both in Windows 8 and 8.1 (I could try it on Windows 7).
Any feedback is welcomed. I was also wondering if this could be hardware related, but since I have never experienced any 3D GPU issues with older Catalyst verions, it seems strange.

my window 7 update on 20 jan will show blue screen error after window logo when i restart.. after lot of work i come to know if i run in safe mode and uninstall radeon 7450M driver than my window run smooth (without blue screen).. i tried my amd drivers my all invain when ever i install drivers it will show blur screen right fter window logo ,,
i reinstall my window ,,
formate all drives,,
updates bios ,,,
but still didnt find any solution for it.. still if i install Graphic drivers or window update install driver it show blue screen..

i bought a pavilion 15-n073sl working on windows 8. I downgraded to win7 and downloaded drivers from hp website. Anyway i have a problem with the signature of intel video card hd 4400. this driver is not signed, so every time i turn on the pc i must press f8 before loading o.s. or i will have problem with the driver (resolution low and the "!" on the intel videocard).
how can i solve this problem?
Hi, I purchased an hp mini 110 about 3 years ago as a backup computer but I have had monitor issues. The monitor only displays black and white lines (vertical and horizontal), similar to the right side of the monitor in this image (taken from hp monitor troubleshooting page):
However, there are no "cracks" or "fractures" in the display as seen in the middle and left side of this image, and no dark / pure black segments like you see in the bottom right. For a short time, the monitor did correct itself and was working fine, but stopped working again. I was able to use an external monitor for a while but that no longer works and I am not sure why. In other words, I do not have any reason to think that there is damage to the actual monitor or other hardware, and of course I also assume it is reasonable to rule out a software problem (virus, etc.) I suspect that it is a loose connection between the PC and the monitor components or possibly something to do with the video card, but I am open to suggestions. I have no warranty but I hope someone else has experienced a similar problem and lead me to a solution, even if I can just get the external monitor to work that would be a major improvement. Thanks.

Hi, I have an HP 2000 Notebook PC . I am running Windows 7 as my OS.
When I'm doing anything (problem doesn't seem to be linked to any certain thing I'm doing), my screen goes black. My pc is still receiving power and my power button is still lit up, but I have to force shut down in order to get my screen to come back up. It takes me to the "Start windows normally" screen (of course because I forced shut down) but I can't seem to figure out what the problem is. This happens on a DAILY basis and it's becoming very frustrating. Can anyone please help?
EDIT: It's also randomly restarting on me for no reason.
So... I've recently updated to windows 8.1 (Joy) and I strongly regret this decision. Before I was able to turn off the auto-brightness feature through the AMD vision engine control centre... But now the option is gone.
Autobrightness/Vari-bright: When ever I go onto a new webpage with a different coloured background it changes the brightness on the laptop... Brighter for white and darker for black.
So I went through with my first go-to option from last time:
So as you can see, there is no "powerplay" option under power. And yes, I have checked the other options and none of them have the option to disable auto-brightness.
I've looked online for more solutions and came up with several. The most common one is changing it according to the battery.
And it's did no good for me.
Another way was to disable it on the local services:

Finally I looked on the windows 8.1 options after someone said it was there...
Once more, no prevail.
Can anyone help? It was able to be turned off before I updated to windows 8.1 and now i'm getting huge headaches from such an awful idea.

Also... I do not have an intel processor so the intel service is not available to me.

Screen freezes, stutters, jumps, and sometimes gets vertical lines and then a blank screen when accessing youtube videos, iplayer downloads etc. Seems OK when watching iplayer direct on BBCwebsite.

I have a probook 4530s and every 60 seconds after no activity my display is turning off. My power settings are all ok and I have set the display to only turn off after 20 minutes when plugged in and 10 minutes when on Battery.

how do i start a dvd in my computer? it didnt come on and play
AI had a DV7 laptop, which crashed and burned. i was able to salvage the hard drive and install it in a G7-340US. The hard drive works fine but when I try to connect an external monitor via the HDMI port, it will not do anything. The original laptop is an AMD laptop, but he G7 is an intel powered laptop. I can see a memory conflict when I examine the device configuration, but have no idea how to resolve it,
I'd like to get all three external monitors to be digital, presently I have 2 that are using a dock (2 DVI ports).
For the third monitor, I've tried using the displayport ports on the dock above the DVI and the displayport on the laptop itself, however these ports won't work, as I'm assuming those resources are dedicated to the first two displays utilziing the dock.
VGA out from the dock or laptop work fine, however the video is grainy even after autoadjust and at ideal resoltuion. I'd like to make the third monitor digital like the first two.
Would a thunderbolt to DVI adaptor work for this (there is only one port on the laptop itself)?
FYI, the ZBook 15 has Intel and NVIDIA gpus.

I bought a HP envy touchsmart j-109tx laptop.
It came with a 8.1 pre-installed.
The resolution problem is irritating to me. The fonts are too small .When i open applications it becomes blurry and the fonts are too small.
I have updated all my drivers... still the problem exists...
Is there any error in windows?

The only problem is the screen resolution problem.
Without this problem the lap is amazing and i like the aluminium finish.
My CQ61 has a nvdia graphics chip which is overheating and causing the screen to pixelate and the crash. Has HP recalled this model for repair/replacement?
I called HP Totalcare but the gave me an HP url called diagnostics/nvidiarecal but it is no longer current. Amazon are refusing to help.
I understand the chip warranty is 6 years is this correct?
