Hi,
Yesterday i bought this 470 G4 laptop to use it with AutoCAD 2016 3D. Its impossible to run AutoCAD with Nvidia graphics, autoCAD starts and uses only in i5 cpu integrated Intel graphics 620, which for 3D aplications like AutoCAD is a joke..
In the Bios i have 2 options for graphics, UMA and the other - dual VGA, if i choose UMA, in the OS, nvidia isnt listed anywhere, not even in device manager after pressing "scan for hardware changes", when i set dual vga in bios, both drivers are listed in the OS. In device manager i disabled the Intel VGA, but the OS automatically switched to Standart VGA graphics, a driver, that isnt intel or nvidia, some standart rubish, i could see, that the HD 1920x1080 resolution was terrible! I set Nvidia 930MX in the nvidia software properties to be used as the primary VGA, i ALSO used the nvidia 930MX software to tell, that nvidia should run the AutoCAD.exe with nvidia graphics, but everything i do doesnt help.. I run AutoCAD, then go to system properties and every time, there is this Intel 620 grpahics..WHY??? WHY cant the VGA driver or OS understand that this is a huge 3D application that needs Nvidias power!??? Why doesnt the nvidas software function (there is a choice to set the exact *.exe which should run with nvidia vga) doesnt do waht its suposed to do? What can i do, are there solutions or i should go to the shop and tell them what i think about them..In the shop the HP people (salespeople) told me, yes, yes, there is a sepperate dedicated Nvidia card for 3D stuff and AutoCAD should run just fine, u will be pleased!! BUT IT DOESNT and IM NOT!!!
So far i googled a lot..there are sooo many people around, who have similar problems with HP and other manufacturers, that integrated intel vga doesnt switch to Nvidia if using apps, but games...different story... i tested, i installed COD MW, nvidia works great, but i didnt pay 700EUR to play games.. by the way im very experienced with computers, i know what im doing..
so please give me some solutions to try! Or if there are no solutions, tell me straight away and i will go to the shop and we will have a little nice chat with these HP salespeople...
