I was curious if you guys could update the driver for "HP Pavilion 15-au030wm" because 4454 is outdated and doesn't support new games that are a bit intensive. I'm asking this because Intel's driver, 4542 causes IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL blue screens of death occasionally, I'm using the beta driver before that version hoping it resolves that blue screen of death. Thnaks for your help, I just would like a more updated video driver.

Got my Envy x360 running on Windows 10.
I noticed that there's a sensor somewhere that detects the orientation of the laptop and somehow attempts to put it in tablet mode. I went ahead and disabled the auto-switch function, so my laptop actually stays in desktop mode when rotated. However, independent of whether the laptop is in tablet mode, it still disables both the touchpad and keyboard functions when rotated, since you would only use the touchscreen when the laptop is in tablet mode. I sometimes use the laptop lying sideways (rotated 90 degrees) and that does not necessarily mean I want to use it as a tablet, and I would not want my input devices to be automatically switched off against my will.
I looked up a solution that involves disabling Synaptics SMBus Driver, which presumably disables the software connecting touchpad functionality to laptop orientation. This allows touchpad to work when rotated. However, I can't find the way to accomplish the same for the keyboard. I noticed that the keyboard and the sensors are connected via HID drivers but I don't understand what they are.
TL;DR: rotating laptop disables touchpad and keyboard even when it's not in tablet mode. Disabling Synaptics SMBus Driver solves the touchpad portion. Don't know what to do for the keyboard portion.

this is my second thread about an issue with my Spectre x360, only 3 months old.
I send it to repair to HP the first time on 8th november 2016, and I had it back on 12 december 2016.
The previous problem was a faulty display hinge. The HP support replaced the display entirely, the hinge and the wifi card.
Today I noticed a strange behaviour on display backlighting. Yes, this looks like a issue with backlighting,not with pixel.
Because the pixel changes its color and luminance correctly basing on what it's shown on the screen, but its BRIGHTER than others.
Looking further, it's not just a pixel, it's a brighter spot, has nothing to do with pixels itself in my opinion.
This is noticeable with light colors, on black/gray and darker colors it isn't visible.
I'm starting to wonder about quality of spare parts and in general with HP products and their engineering.
I'm a bit disappointed because after spending 1500€ for a premium product I had to send it to repair, and it stayed 1 month and more away, lost 1 month of warranty, and worst of all, I can't enjoy my product.
Today an issue showed again.
I work in photography and I'm really starting to wonder if I have to consider to sell my Spectre x360 and looking to other manfacturers for my personal/work laptop choice.

I just got the laptop and the screen saver refuses to start up. I change the time frame...nothing. It doesn't even turn the screen off after the set length of time. For a laptop that's not even a month old, this strikes me as unacceptable.
I'm beginning to wonder if the Inter Graphics Driver or Notebook System BIOS update had something to do with it, particularly as each update indicated that NEWER drivers were already on the system (which also makes the need for an update kind of pointless)
So how do I get the screensaver to actually work???
According to the HP Support Assistant, I should install a "new" Intel HD Graphics Driver. The version is wants to install is: 21.20.16.4526 Rev.B.
But, the driver on the laptop is a newer version: 21.20.16.4534 .
Why does the assistant want to install and older driver version and should I do it or just ignore it?
My laptop just came back today from being repaired for a broken hinge. The repair paper says that the upper chassy assembly was replaced and cables were reinstalled or reconnected. The touch pad is now double clicking every tiem I touch it. I tried different browsers as well as my desktop and it consistently does it everywhere. I tried googling a fix and am not coming up with anything. Any advice??
Just got my HP Envy 15 x360, I have to say its really great.
However, when I noticed there's a light being emmitted (leaked) on the top left corner of the screen. It's very noticeable during bootup because the background is black.
I then searched the HP site to search for answers and after looking at the driver/software section for this device, I saw a BIOS update with the description "Fixes an issue which causes which causes light to be emitted (leak) from the corner of the display panel". After installing it, the light leak still shows. The BIOS version on my laptop shows F.21.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
We are experiencing massive amounts of failures within the keyboards of refurbished chromebooks.
Out of roughly 300 units we have had failures of about 50 within 6 months. typically it is the (8) (i) (k) (.) keys that fail.
currently we are having to purchase replacement keyboards at 80$ apiece from the HP parts store.
Are we the only ones experiencing these kinds of issues? I would think that if 20% of units are failing so quickly that HP might have a bad refurbisher or need to recall these units?
We want to replace our system as we are having problem while using them.

I installed some updates recommended by Windows the other day, among them two ELAN updates.
Right after the update the touchscreen function did not work anymore.
Also, sound does not work: the icon is crossed out with error message "no audio output device is installed"
The HID compliant touchscreen driver was found among the ghosting devices.
As per a suggestion on a MS or HP board I uninstalled this driver and restarted the notebook.
I also performed a hard reset.
Microsoft support spent 3 hours on it yesterday but could not get the drivers reinstalled.
There is also the suggestion to update the BIOS, however, when I start its update, I get a message that Bitlocker was active and I should write down the code number. There is no BitLocker on my notebook and I had this problem before after an update: afterwards the whole notebook was blocked. Back then, the HP support could help me but I am understandably reluctant to go through this problem again.
To make things worse, for some reason my Windows system hasn't created recovery spots, so I cannot set it back to an earlier moment.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am having playback problems .i occasionally record my singing and guitar playing when i play it back its ok for about 30 secs then it just starts breakung up and crackling and also the sound isnt good its been fairly ok up to now i dont know why i have no problem playing youtube vids etc theres no sound problems its just on the camera playback ?
