Hello, I just purchased a HP Envy 17 around 3 months ago and I use it for schoolwork daily. I take extremley good care of this laptop because I have never had anything this expensive in my life. Recently, I noticed a dark mark on my screen that is not a scratch and does not appear to be a dead/stuck pixel. I have the touchscreen feature turned off because I have never found a use for it so I am positive it is not from me touching the screen. The mark, while small, is smack dab in the middle of my screen and I see it every time I look at my laptop. Is there a quick fix for this problem? Although minor, it bugs me very much.

Taskbar not working at all.
Hi,
My taskbar has completely broken. The start menu no longer works (as in I can click it, but nothing comes up), the "ask me anything" function does not work (same) but, most importantly, all the items I saved to the taskbar have vanished! I cannot use the taskbar to do anything!

Issues with trackpad
Hello!
I bought this device just yesterday evening, and in about 12 hours usage I have had this problem about 3 times:
1) The trackpad slows down
2) Next, it'll apparently start detecting the wrong gestures, like multifingered gestures when I use only one finger, or the inverse, or else it starts clicking when I'm not putting on much pressure, etc.
3) Finally - and this is the worst part - the trackpad stops detecting pressure in about 60% of it's central area...
4) I restart the system and everything is perfect again for a while.
What should I do? Should I return the product? I already searched for updates in the software, but everything was fine and up to date.

Black screen after windows updates on windows 7 - hp dv7t-6100
I have HP-DV7t-6100 and I am facing this issue that is so annoying and not going away. Issue is the black screen.
I had installed windows updates on my windos 7 home premium laptop. After that black screen started appearing. Laptop does work as I hear caps lock on/off and finger print reader also blinking along with sound. When I start the laptop the windows symbol appears on the screen for sometime and then it goes blank. This happens sometime and sometimes it doesn't.
When it happens it's very hard to reboot and get it back. It hibernates and to wake the laptop i have to wait for one day. power button doesn't work if it hibernates or sleeps. After one day if press power button then it starts and if my luck is good i will have display working properly else again black screen.
I have searched this forum and have tried multiple things but nothing seems to be working so far. What I have tried so far:
1) Updating BIOS - no change - I used to have F.17 and got it back to F.13. I couldn't find anywhere the F.17 bios file that came with the laptop.
2) Restored from my backup impage
3) Removed memory module and put it back securely
Pleas help fix this laptop.

HP ENVY x360 - 15-w237cl Keyboard Unevenly Backlit
Hello, I just purchased this item today at Sam's Club, got it home and unboxed it. Turned it on and the keyboard is very unevenly backlit. The keys on the left side are nice and bright while the right hand side (not ncluding the numeric keypad which is also bright) is dark. Seems the etching of the letters on the right side is poor and doesn't let the backlight to pass through. This model is apparently so new that it is not available through Chat yet. Please direct me on how to contact customer support for this model or this PC will be going right back to the store.

Microsoft -- Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 disabled usage of R7M440Graphics
This is a brand new machine -- had it maybe 2 weeks. Bought this configuration for games such as Rome Total War, Skyrim, etc.
After the Microsoft -- Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3199986) on 11/08, the R7M440Graphics with 4 GB has stopped being recognized.
The system now only uses the integrated R5 graphics which has limited memory. Some games warned me and allow me to use main memory, others just lock up.
The Radeon software shows it "Linked" to the R5 but it is not being used.
Is there anyway to make the R7M440 the primary graphics?

Brightness won't change
I have a Compaq CQ58 laptop that I got a few years ago. I just installed Windows 7 Home Premium on it, and I have installed all of the necessary drivers off of HP's website. However, I can't seem to change the brightness. I tried holding Fn and pressing F2 and F3 to change the brightness. I clicked the battery icon on the system tray, but there was no brightness slider. I tried going to the Power Options, but still, no brightness adjustment. I'm not sure if there are some drivers that I don't have installed, or Windows 7 cannot detect that the brightness of my display can be changed. My brightness is just stuck at full brightness, and looking at the screen in the dark without being able to dim the screen eventually hurts my eyes.

When my notebook is open and asleep, my caps lock key flashes on and off
It's the strangest thing. Sometimes when I have left my notebook open, I will not be able to get the screen to come back on. Meanwhile, the light on my caps lock key will start flashing and won't stop. Finally, I just have to push the power button long enough to turn it completely off. Then I close the lid, open it and turn it back on again. I cannot understand what is happening, especially the flashing caps lock key light. Does anyone have any idea?

HP Pavallion screen goes black
This past week, I noticed that my laptop screen goes partially black when I scroll or move the cursor. It's goes black in section or small blocks. It will go away if I continue to scroll up or down, but then comes back. I've removed battery and restarted which did not help. I have also noticed when this happens that there will be overposting of text or pictures. It is doing it as I am typing this text. I have to scroll to be able to see what I am typing. I have not recently installed any software. I believe all my drivers are up to date. Any help would be appreciated.
