Since having to re-install Win 7 followed by the Win 10 64 bit upgrade, although I can see my extended desktop through a multimedia projector, I cannot get software that USED to work on this laptop (Easislides) to route the extended desktop through the HDMI port. I have updated the video drivers to no avail. I am having to user a very flakey old laptop to work with easislides. This compaq/hp laptop was also updated to Win 10 from Win 7 with no problem. It is about to die tho!!!! I have tried other Multimedia software which gives the same symptoms leading me to the re-installation of 7 and 10 as being the problem. PLEASE HELP before the old lappy does it's final performance!!
I am using the HDMI output from the computer and the screen does work in this mode (mostly) the problem is that if i use some software which uses screen 2 to play video it will not play and just gives a blue aquare on the screen with the title of the media that should be playing at the bottom of that square. If I use the same software (Easyslides) to show a text show i.e. song words it works correctly making the extended screen be the slideshow content at full screen
I posted this earlier this year and have received contact from SDJL at HP. I had to go away for a month or so, but I am now back in Lanzarote for 2 months to receive help. Thank you

hdmi not detected on my hp 15-r203tx laptop
I have an HDMI cable connected between my laptop HP Pavilion 15-r203tx and my LG TV.
The laptop has WIndows 7 Ultimate installed. It does not detect HDMI.
The HDMI output on my TV used to work when I had Ubuntu 14.04 installed on this laptop earlier.
I had bought the laptop with just DOS installed. After I added Windows I did not which driver was required for HDMI output to be detected.

hp 15-r203tx laptop HDMI output problem
Hello, i need to stream live screen to TV, due to existing coax cabling I decided to use HDMI to QAM Modulator, I cant get Video signal, I tried the same thing with Lenovo and Asus laptops - it works fine, but not with my HP. I use h264 encoding, 720p@30 resolution and QAM 128 if it will help anyhow.

Using 3 monitors with HP EliteBook 745 G3 and Ultraslim Docking Station??
I'm trying to connect three ZR2440w displays to my EliteBook 745 G3 using the Ultraslim Docking Station. The tech specs for the 745 state that it supports 3 independant displays if used with the dock. How?
Connecting two with the DP, and one DP/VGA adapter only allows use of two displays. The 3rd is recognized but I cannot configure it and the screen is black. Swapping cables and connections netted the same result but open windows were left on the third display forcing me to move each back to the first two.
How do I get all three displays to work? I can't find any documentation on this at all.

the monitor recently stopped working and before it's sent in to HP repair, I want to transfer the data. How do I connect my laptop to another Pavilion 17 laptop to transfer the data? What cables do I need? And, once it's connected how do I get the 2nd monitor to display my data? Keep it simple please.

Omen display
Hi, I just bought the omen 17 (version 2016), when i opened the pc I noted that the display seems to have a opaque plastic wrap but I can't understand if I can remove that or not.
So my question is, is the display opaque or there is something that i might do to fix that?? I know it seems a dumb question

White screen on a DV7
I'm still trying to fix this problem. The Laptop screen is a bright white but will dim down after no activity time outs. It will also go out if the computer goes into sleep mode. It is a bright white screen as soon as you turn it on so you can't see anything in the BIOS level to work with. I have tried replacing the screen but there is no differance. I replaced the ribbon cables inside the laptop to make sure it had no broken leads and I still get the same results. If I connect an HDMI cable and the laptop has completed loading the OS then I can work with the computer completly on the screen connected to the HDMI cable but the laptop is pure white. I can also use the VGA port with the same results. If I switch the screen control and say I want to just use the HDMI or VGA port then the white screen goes off. The second port moniter only works after the operating system has loaded so it is useless until the OS is loaded.
This takes me back to my original question about this laptop. On other models there is an inverter , which if it fails on other models gives you a white screen and is easily replacable but I find none on this laptop. Again I'm working on an HP DV7-6c93dx. Does this laptop have an inverter and is it replacable? If there is no inverter and I've replaced both the screen and the internal ribbon cables is the only thing left "the Motherboard" ?

My Screen's Damages: Colors are Changed, Horizontal Lines, Pixelated, Ghost Images and Flickers.
these are what showed up: colors are changed, horizontal lines, pixelated, ghost images and flickers. But when i press some points at the edge of the screen, it will back to normal. Whats wrong with it? and How can i fix it?
The laptop is just 3 months old and i wonder if i can just return it and get a refund or a new replacement laptop?

Touchpad erratic. It does whatever it wants regardless of settings. It has mind of its own!
Hi,
I have been having problems with the touchpad on my laptop. It seems far too oversensitve and is forever dragging things across the screen and the slightest touch selects something or closes something. It in fact is pretty unusable.
I have tried updating the drivers and reinstalled the old one. I have also tried the Elan settings page and no matter what I select on there it makes no difference. For instance I turn off the tapping and dragging and dropping options yet that makes no difference. It is almost like the Elan settings are not working or are unconnected to the touchpad itself.
The problem is so bad that I am having to use a plug in mouse, which works but is not what I want to do. I bought this laptop because it was so portable and the last thing I want to do is carry around a lot of other stuff.
I have tried everything I know and have ran our of options.
If someone could offer some advice, or there are others who are having or have had similar problems, I would love to hear from you.

I decided to upgrade my screen from HD resolution to FHD. I bought the display also 40pin, 15.6 slim, 1980*1080 exactly the same as my standard and connected it without battery and power. And no picture appears. Notebook works fine.. with changing on old display. I googled this problem and i have 2 versions:
1. My lvds cable is 1chanel (i can't prove it, cause no information aboute 50.4ST15.021 if it is 1 chanel or 2 chanel) . In this connection i found all versions of this LVDS cables of dv6-7000 serion : (PART# 682057-001)

He tried to use 50.4ST10.021 cable and it works. My question is::: What LVDS cable model are 1 chanel (hd) and what are 2 chanel(FHD compatible)
2. EDID of my new screen does not stack with the old one. Do you think if lvds cable is compatible for FHD, i should try to change EDID from my old screen to new? Will i have 1980*1080 resolution then if it will work?

brightness adjusting problem when updated to windows 10 from windows 8.1
