Ok so my friend and I decided to do a factory reset on his PC just to clean up the crap on it because he's getting a new desktop in a week or so when his motherboard arrives. The power adapter for the laptop wasn't fully plugged in and in the middle of doing the factory reset it died and I think it messed up. The hp display does not work because it broke earlier and my friend just uses his External HDMI BenQ monitor and its been fine. But now that after it died on the factory reset it wont display on the external display. I tried hooking it up with VGA, HDMI, and I don't have any hookups other than that. I don't think the laptop is bricked because while I had the broken display on it kind of responded to a few common bios combinations. I saw a video on youtube to disconnect the display of the laptop from the laptop and I removed the screen, then hook up the VGA and it should work, but it doesn't. If you need any more information just ask.

Hi,

 

My laptop purchased 6 months ago, has developed a black horizontal line towards the bottom right of the screen; the line is hotizonally 2 inches (5cm) wide and 1/16th of an inch, (2mm).

 

 

I'm using windows 10 but unsure if its 32 or 64 bit.

 

Any ideas how to get rid of it please?

Occasionally when correcting a message in BT Yahoo mail I find that text is being replaced rather than inserted.  I have found elsewhere that I have hit the INSert key but I can't find such a key on my laptop. Is there another reason for this?

My new Notebook using the intel Skylake i5 6200 CPU, accepts alteration to it,s default settings ( i have to disable 'TAP' as otherwise I keep making unintended entries - it's an age thing)

 

Changing the Synaptics settings works fine, but whenever the machine is restarted, the Touchpad reverts to it's default settings, with a lot of clever clever additional functions, including TAP.

 

I have ensured that I have the latest driver from both HP and Synaptics.  When I reported this problem to HP Support in November, I was told it was a known problem and should be sorted by January..

 

Still no luck so does anyone know what is going on, or have a solution?

Brightness buttons not working in my new laptop → hp15 ac024tx. (os- 8.1 & ×64bit). I tried installing some drives! .suggest me the correct driver or send me link or if anything I need to do. Help me!

I cannot adjust the brightness by "F2 / F3". I tried with power options, but didn't get through! There after I tried "chipset_10.0.27_Public" and "win64_152824" but the problem is as it is! What I have to do? Kindly give me a solution.

My laptop when hooked to the charger blinks but when I hit power it does nothin. When I take off the battery it does nothing but the light stays solid and does not blink. Whats wrong

Hi,
i latly upgrade my windows to 10(64bits), then 

my hp proobook 450 G1 Brightness increase by (fn+f10) & decrease by (fn+f9) don't work anymore.
But i can change sound using the
key [fn+f6] and [fn+f7]
now i need the driver to work it again

My blue HP chromebook 14 had a low battery when I went to go do something that didn't take more than 20 minutes, and when I returned the screen was blank. I'm guessing it died, so I plugged it in. The light beside it turned on, and was orange, and I let it charge for about 30 minutes before returning to turn it on. The laptop screen was still black. I held the power button for about 10 seconds, then unplugged everything and plugged it all back in. I don't know what to do. When I plug the charger in, the light is white for half a second and then orange, but still no screen. Any solutions?

I bought my computer 2 days ago, suddenly my display turned 90 degrees. This laptop cannot cannot turn to a tablet so I do not intend to make my screen on a portrait mode. I want to put it back to the original screen. I do not know how. There is no similar problem I have seen here as my reference. Pls help!

Hi, after upgrading from windows 8.1 to windows 10, my laptop's brightness hot keys stopped working. I have tried all the procedure offered by the forums but nothing ha worked (driver max, the manual way of dealing with drivers, seeking assistance from microsoft...) , what other solution is there?

Hello, 

 

My daughter's chromebook has several vertical lines on her screen - more on the right side of the screen. Please advise how to fix or get rid of the lines, as it sometimes prevents her from reading a full text when she is at school. Thank you kindly.

Hello,

 

my HP Pavilion x360 13-s109nl (italian market) touch screenstopped workingafter 5days of purchase.
Itried updating drivers,disabling HID compliant touch screen, updating BIOS andalsotorestore the factorysetting.

 

None of these methods has worked.

 

How can I fix this problem?
