HP ENVY 17t-k000 Brightness in Win 10
There was some sort of automatic update recently and all of a sudden I can't change the brightness of the monitor. The brightness keys dont work either. I have tried everyting, installing and uninstalling drivers. Though now i am confused bc the drivers it says for this computer are nvideo but in device manager it says intel hd graphics 4600.
Please help me. Not controlling the brightness is killing me.

Dear recipient, I hope this message doesn't get lost in the sea of posts.
I have a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit on my HP 250 2G and I keep getting this error message.
According to the devices window, I have all drivers installed, I recently downloaded all seemingly necessary ones from the HP website.

Still, when I try to run the Cyberlink Youcam, I get this error message.
Could you please tell me where I can download the necessary software to be able to use my camera?

Edit: Update: Okay, this is getting more and more weird. I use website webcamtoy.com often for taking some shots, and I allow access but I can't see any picture. Also, the Youcam is reporting an error, but interesting enough, Skype manages to see my camera picture.

Slow w10 boot including black screen
Have updated my Pavilion to W10 and now it takes very long (1.20 min) to boot and I am facing a black screen. When I disable the AMD GPU the bootup time is less then 20 s and the screen is showing the Windows logo. So there is an issue in the colaboration between the 2 video cards.
HP assistance framework is not working.

Intel HD Graphics Driver Update Fails
HP Support Center shows an available Intel HD Graphics Driver update. Attemting to update, progress gets as far as 'installation'.
After at least 10 minutes 'installing' an error message is displayed explaining the installation failed but providing no further details.
How do I get the installation to complete?

Problem with intel hd graphics
The games wouldnt run in full screen in windows 10 because in intel hd graphics settings, it is set as maintain aspect ratio and i cant change it and there are no other options also like "scale full screen".

Dim display on Envy 15t
I recently purchased a new Envy 15t with 1920x1080 resolution. The display is dim and lacks sharpness. I have the brightness setting at 100% but it hasn't improved the display very much. I'm finding it very hard on the eyes and wonder if this is typical of HP laptops. Thank you.

Loosing HDMI signal
Hi, after several hours of operations, I loose my HDMI signal on both of my monitors, I have to shut down the laptop holding the power button and restart. Can it be linked to not having enough ram? The fan of my machine is working continuously and my local C is full at 95%

faded screen
My ageing compaq 6710b has been working very nicely ( doubled the ram a few years ago), but suddenly screen appeared to go blank. Isearched the forums for that error as on boot the HP logo briefly flickered and then blank, but all the lights worked, the dvd drive opens, and the fan goes and the processor makes noises. I removed the hard drive and connected it via sata to usb to another computer and it is working ok, no errors on scanning. Then I followed the hard reset instructions, same result. Then I had a brainwave and at the blank screen after the hard drive boot up noises stopped I pressed ctrl alt del and very faintly in a dimly lit room I could see the box for password, entered and it booted normally to a very faint screen I could just see. But on boot up the screen briefly flickers the HP logo at normal brightness. Connecting external monitor same result. Is it the video card? If so is this replaceable? I was going to put an SSD in it as I have already done this on HP Pavilion DV6 and doubled its RAM to 8GB and it flies like a latest model!

Spectre x360 Display driver stopped responding and has recovered intel HD graphics error
I just received a brand new spectre X360 (the maxed-out copper colored frame i7/512GB N5S03UA). From day one, it periodically errors with "(X) Display driver stopped responding and has recovered Display driver Intel HD Graphics Drivers for Windows 8(R) stopped responding and has suessfully recovered." This happens as often as every 15 - 30 minutes during heavy use (downloading large webpages, lots of scrolling, office / word use for large document creation). It does not matter if powered from battery or AC. The problem goes away when the machine is run for 'passive' uses, ex: amazon/netflix streaming video w/o user interaction. Heavy interaction with the keyboard or trackpad seems to be required to cause this error.
Diagnostics with HP support started with pre-boot test of memory, disk, etc for several hours without any failures combined with bios updates and driver updates. Next level of troubleshooting was to roll back the system to the first day of ownership (about 7 days back). When that also failed, the SSD was re-imaged from the recovery partition. In the first week, there was one critical error (blue screen & reboot).
Just before the display error comes up, the system freezes momentarily. 5 to 6 typed characters seem to be preserved in a type ahead buffer, but do not show up on screen until the error message appears in the lower right corner. Once the message is displayed, tracpad inputs and typed characters are updated as the machine unfreezes.
The only other 'odd' problem is with the power sensing - SiSoft Sandra shows a current drain of 432123.02 Amps (a little on the high side) - this may be related to another problem with the battery icon in the system tray which shows % of battery remaining, then says "Calculating ..." but never comes up with a runtime estimate. One time the intel 2x2 wifi board 'disappeared' from the system configuration (only bluetooth remained) - rebooting brought that hardware back.
Other than these stability issues, I'm very happy with the machine overall - It's well built, supports windows 10 well, and I get good battery life (8-10 hrs depending on use, about 10% per hour of streaming video). Is anyone else having similar problems? This system was 'born' on 7 Dec 2015.

HP Spectre X360
A TALE OF TWO TECH COMPANIES
I brought a top of the range HP Laptop about 4 1/2 months back... It was on very sexy machine with top specs and what looked like great design. However, about 3 months ago, I began to experience some issues with the machine and contacted their tech support. Which was great, or so I thought. After trouble shooting and several updates to DRIVERS, BIOS and OSes, the issue persisted, and I suspected that it was an intermittent hardware issue. I therefore took a video of the problem (the touch screen was activating on its own on the right hand edge (oh, NO not the RIGHT HAND edge - terrible for WINDOWS, as that's were very important commands live!). Anyway, they said that they would get their Service Centre to look at it...
Long and short of it, it is now THREE months after my complaint and copious calls back and forth even to their senior tech support people, all the way to Bangalore, India. Last week they finally got a courier to pick up the machine, which I thought was great. BUT know what? What I suspected came true. The service centre said "THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE MACHINE". I asked, did you see the video? They said WHAT VIDEO.... Back to Tech Support... "Oh, we cannot access the video because it is on Google Drive... can you send me a copy?" I said okay... "What is your e-mail address?" To which he replied, "I cannot give you my email address as it is not professional!" Long and short, the machine will be coming back to me, I will back up my files, then send it back to them. They will re-image the system, send it back to me, and in a few weeks, I will discover the SAME problem (Absolute MADNESS is doing the same thing and expecting different results!)... and in three weeks send it back to them to repair the same problem. In the meanwhile 6 months will have passed and I still do not have a working MACHINE!!
ON THE OTHER HAND...
An Intel SSD I had installed in my old Mac Drive failed... I raised a warranty claim. They are sending me a self addressed courier pack for me to send the drive back, and give me a replacement - NO QUESTIONS!!

HP Pavilion 15-ab271sa graphics card upgrade to nvidia geforce
hi,
i have just bought a hp pavillion 15-ab271sa with core i3 and intel iris graphics card. is it possible to upgrade this to a nvidiva geforce graphics card and if some which one's fit this type of laptop.
the fact that it has a graphics card gives me hope that it can be changed. i want it so i can play better games on the laptop. it has 8gb of ram and a 1tb hard drive so i think the graphics card will be the only thing holding it back.

HP laptop in-built webcam not working after internal fan replacement.
Hey HP family!
New to the forums. So, I have a HP Pavilion dv6-7046tx Entertainment Notebook PC , Im running windows 10 (64 bit) and the laptops internal fan was bugging out on me so i had it replaced. The problem now is that the webcam seems to not work. I went to device manager and tried to update the sofwatre through that and it says the latest driver is installed. I checked the webcam properties on device manager and it says:
"Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)
To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer."
Btw the camera is an "HP Truevision HD"
Anyways, i googled Code 45 and it said that one of the reasons this happens is if you remove or replace somthing in your laptop. And i realized suddenly that i just had the internal fan replaced a few days back.
QUESTION: what to do now? how to fix this issue

compaq cq60-615dx display problem
I got this hp compaq presario cq60-615dx which when powered on everything seems all right, no beep codes, no bliking LEDs but it doesn't display on the screen. i've tried changing RAMs but still the same.
