about two weeks ago I noticed my apps and web browser had a mind of their own.  Regardless of where I was clicking my cursor, it would jump to another area of the screen and start performing other functions (like excel dropdowns, or openging another web page).  After ruling out malware, I realized it was an issue with my touchscreen - even when not in use, and not touching mouse, the screen acts as it it is being touched (it seems to be limited to the right side of the screen).  I had to disable my touchscreen in the device manager just so I could use the laptop.  I have been on Windows 10 for a few months, so I don't think it's related to that upgrade (but you never know).  I've done recalibration and that does not fix problem.  Are there other hardward diagnostics that can be performed to correct the issue, or am I stck with a touchless touchscreen ?

I purchased this computer at Best Buy in June 2015. The backlight blinked out and, the warranty is not over until March 2016. Can I send the computer to HP to get the backlight replaced? And if so, how long would it be until it is sent back to me?

I just purchased this laptop last week and I am already seeing a flickering at the top of the screen. It occurs every 30 seconds or so, and appears to be a black bar.

 

Please advise if this is fixable, or if I have purchased a complete POS.

Omen Laptop with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M

If I connect it to an external monitor via proper HDMI cables, can I get a resolution on that monitor higer than the laptop's native 1920x1080p ?

Would it be possible to go as high as 4K?

Hi, I made a dual boot on my HP 250 g3 after first installed Windows 7 Ultimate many months ago and followed now by Windows Vista Ultimate both 64 bit. However Vista has only standard VGA driver adapter display. I cannot enable aero for example and this was the 1-rst thing I was interested. I dont understand why when in Windows 7 all is OK? Both are installed not in UEFI mode. The support for Vista is almost 0 as I noticed. Why in Vista partition (both OS are on the same disk) cannot have high resolution, where is Intel Graphics, how to switch between videocards and where is Nvidia discrete after all - I didn`t find it even in Windows 7 partition?!? Hello!

My computer works fine but there's one problem, when I'm not using it for couple of hours or maybe about 1 hour my screen goes black and there's nothing to do but shut down and then turn it on again.

I've turned off all settings almostly, here's screenshots:

I don't know what to do, i think it goes to sleep after some time, and then it doesn't wake up, i have to pull out the battery and then turn it on again, it started happen about 2 days ago when i updated my radeon HD7650 video card driver to 15.11.1 Crimson or smth.

I Have recently purchased hp envy k004-tx laptop,with in 4 months i was facing a problem with my display.A dark black colour spot was identified on two parts of my screen.could some one say ,why this problem occurs and whether this problem can be covered under warranty or not??

HP nc6120 - struggling to install display driver for intel 915Gm on  *Windows 10*

 

Hi-

 

I am having the above problem - and, despite trying suggestions that suited Win7 & 8, I simply can't get the driver to install - hs anyone managed to accomplish this or does anyone have any further ideas that might help at all?

 

Laptop works great with 10, except for the lack of 'sleep' option - which is a nightmare - hence needing the display driver from whence it stems, apparently?

 

Despite trying different compatiblity settings, from XP to 8, none work and the instal bjorks with a 'not supported' error; I can't see how to avaoid this

Hello, I have Intel Graphics HD and nVidia G Force instaled, but my laptop use the Intel Graphic Card.. 

 

I want to use nVidia, but i see in Device Maganarer,  at "Other devices" PCI Device and Unknown Device. I understood that i have to solve that to use nVidia.

 

I can't find a PCI driver and I'm not sure what it's the problem, but I want to sove that first.

 

Any help with the PCI device please?

My computer was running really slow, so I used Task Manager to end processess I thought may be dodgy...including Video.

Now I can't make video calls on Skype.

My CyberLink YouCam works fine and i have tried updating it and looking through settings - that all looks fine.

I have gone through the settings in Skype and it will recognise the camera via tools - video. But once i save the video call button goes back to being greyed out.

I am convinced it was because I eneded a process via task manager... can anyone help?!

My tap-to-click feature has stopped working and upon researching a bit, I have tried everything I can and still cannot fix my problem. I opened synaptics and explored the features, tried to disable and enable the tap to click features, rebooted my computer, etc. All I have not done on my own is uninstalled the program because I am quite the novice and don't want to remove something I don't know how to put back. Is there any other way I could try to fix this problem before I go to Best Buy or call some other type of IT help? Thanks

Hello to all !

 

I bought my laptop  HP spectre x 360 last week and I have a problem with video playing in youtube. When the video is playing, it gets  pixels from time to time ( every 5-10 min) and I have to either move the mouse to get rid of it or close the window. It deforms completely the image and I have a bunch of multicolor pixels on the video. However, the sound stays good.

 

Is it a laptop defect or is there a driver or something missing?

When I type the screen will flicker. Once it went into sleep mode all while I was typing.

 

The device manager shows, under the tab 'Unknown', Intel HD Graphics and Radeon HD 6770M

 

 

Intel is Driver Version 8.882.2.3000 Installed Drivers igdumd64.dll,igd10umd64.dll,igd10umd64.dll,igdumdx32,igd10umd32,igd10umd32

 

Radeon is Driver Version 8.882.2.3000

I tried to delete the devices and reinstall them after downloading from the corresponding DV6 support/driver page.

How can I correct the 'unknown' devices and how should switchable graphics be setup, what parameters?

Hey guys, I'm new here and i'd like to ask one thing that I'm curious to try...

Is it safe to change to a higher custom resolution on my notebook? The recommended resolution is 1366 x 768... Changing it to 1600 x 900 would harm my hardware?

 

For extra info: This laptop has a intel core i7 with a intel hd graphics 4000, 8gb RAM and one dedicated VGA GeForce 840m.

I got a big Windows 10 x64 update yesterday (to version 1511) and now the touchscreen isn't working. The system info says "no pen or touch input is available for this display"

 

Tried rebooting, powering down, looked in the BIOS, nothing helped. I don't even see anything about a touchscreen in the device manager.

Just received new spectre laptop but no signal when connecting to monitor using mini display port.

 

Checked with HDMI and it works fine.

I have two of the same ENVY HPs.  Both have had hinge problems, one so bad we had to have the case and hinges rebuilt at local shop.  Now, one of the compuer's screen is all pink and green with lines of the same color that sometimes quiver.  The cpu seems to be working but you can't tell what's what on the screen.  From what I can tell from the forums, the hinge and screen problems seem to be prevelent.  These computers are just over a year old.   What may be the problem with the video/screen?  Has HP recalled these computers?

Laptop started having problem after 3 months and I did bring the issue to HP Customer service attention who tried to resolve at least 3 times but could not.  I am attaching the video of issue I am having with my HP Laptop.
