Hello,

 

I have an Elitebook 8740w laptop, with an Intel i7 processor, 16 Gb RAM and a 650 Gb Harddisk. I have bought an HP 2012 230w Advanced Docking Station for the PC. I also have a new external monitor with a resolution of 1920x1200 pixels.

 

I would like to use the Displayport connection in the dockingstation to connect to the monitor, but for some reason it does not work. On the monitor I only get the message "No Signal" when I use the Displayport(s) on the docking station. However, when I connect the monitor to the Displayport directly on the PC, everything works fine.

 

In this regard it should be mentioned that I - from time to time - experience a strange behavior when I have the monitor connected to the Displayport on the docking station: During startup, the startup screen etc. appears on the external monitor, but as soon as Windows has started, the monitor shows "No Signal", and when I look at the display properties in Windows, I see the external Philips monitor listed, but as not connected.

 

I have the same issue with the DVI connections, which I also tried. The only connection from the docking station which works seamlessly is the VGA connection.

 

Can anyone help with this? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Single Vertical green line on laptop screen, Model HP pavillion g6 2305tx.

I have used an external monitor and everything looks good. I unplugged video cable from display but no result.

I've been having crashes and 'display stopped responding' with my graphics driver so I downloaded the latest from HP.  Its dated Dec 2, version 10.18.15.4248, and downloads as a file named sp72370.exe.  Sounds good... right?

 

Wrong.

 

When I try to install it, I get a message saying "The driver being installed is not validated for this computer.  Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufacturer.  Setup will exit."

 

Soooo HP..... who do I go to to obtain the appropriate driver?  Or... if this is some obscure system error, how do I fix it?

PS: Curiously, there is a second driver listed for my laptop dated Oct 25 but it has the same version number and downloads as the same file name, and gives me the same message when I try to install it.

My touchscreen is not working. I rememeber turning it off a while back so i went and turned it back on and its just not working. I've googled several ways to check/fix it but nothing I've found seems to work. All the settings i saw say it is enabled. I have even tried factory reset. I am all out of ideas and was hoping someone would know what to do to fix it.

envy 17 3d was bought 3 years ago as good for games. after 3-4 months problems of display blackening started. many antiviruses were tried. operating system were changed from windows 7 to 8, and worked normaly for some time. Formatting the pc were tried and re-installing windows again, and worked normally for some time. There was a problem of getting very hot and we cleaned the fan, then temperature returned to normal. It works normally for some months and suddenly the display goes black. Its good that I always can use the other HDMI screen! Last week I installed windows 10, and worked normally for 3 days before the display goes black at starting. The screen choice (extended screen) doesn't work.

Hi,

 

I am using a HP Pavilion DV6 Notebook PC 6005 TU model laptop. After upgarding from windows 7 to 10 my screen gets grayed out and garbled some times. Everytime I face this problem it continues to stay grayed our and garbled for few minutes. During this time I cant do anything as the content is not properly visible.

 

I posted this question in microsoft windows 10 forum but did not get a proper solution. They asked me get the driver and install it in compatible mode and see if it work.

 

Please let me know the solution for this problem.

When I have installed Windows 10 and I have a problem in the graphic card ATI  which is when I run any game on the graphic Card ATI Laptop is turned off in advance me a message (internal power Option) in blue-screen . and i maked a check on the graphics card I did not find it a problem and the proof that it works well on Windows 8.1 . please fix that problem in new update

AM USING A NEW HP ENVY LAPTOP WITH AMD FX. 2.1GHZ , R7 GRAPHICS ,8GIG RAM, 

THIS LAPTOP HAS A VERY HORRIBLE GPU IN TERMS OF PERFORMACE . ALWAYS MY FPS KEEPS DROPING AFTER UNING A GAME FOR LIKE 3 MINUTES. WHY  SHOULD BE PROBLEM WITH ALL THIS RESAONABLE SPECS . WHY HP. After using my laptop for about 30 mins, the text in the start menu and notification areas become garbled. Nothing is helping. My laptop has got AMD processsor and the display driver is AMD Radeon HD 8400.

I just got a new laptop it was in the setup mode it was doing the whole express setup cause that's what I chose it finished doing updates then asked me to coos my profile name I went to pick it up and my finger must of pushed a button but not sure which one and it went to a blank blue screen now it's not doing anything I tried push the escape button nothing

I recently bought an HP Stream mini laptop. However, when I plug in the HDMI cable to watch the Laptop through the TV the sound comes out of the Laptop, no the TV. Does anyone know how this is this corrected?

I purchased new HP Envy Laptop M/N 15-AE100 yesterday.It is frustrating to note that this one has Brown hue all over the screen and the colors are too ugly - simply Unbearable .Is returning the laptop the only option or this can be corrected through on phone technical support?What can be the cause of such a problem?

Is there a way to make the backlight in my envy even brighter? I already have brightness at 100% and adaptive brightness off but the maximum is still pretty dim. I wish it was a bit brighter. Any modification that can be done maybe in the bios to make it go brighter?

Hi,

 

I'm unable to successfully record any videos using any screen capture softwares because it renders a black screen. Strangely I've also noticed the snipping tool provided by windows does the same.

 

Need some help to resolve this please.
