I am a robotics teacher and have loved my HP laptop. Without being dropped smashed or moved abruptly my hinges have broken! My daughter has a HP, older model, no problem. But out of the blue the hinges have broken and the light in my screen won't work! How can I get this fixed! This stinks right before school. This is happening a lot to Envy users. Refresh rate HP 850 G1 (Intel 4400)
Hi all,
I have a HP 850 G1 laptop and in general I'm very happy with it. In the past I only had a slight issue with screen flickering at lower brightness settings, but setting the refresh rate to 40p hz resolved that issue.
After updating to Windows 10, however, it was no longer possible to set the refresh rate to 40p hz. Since I hoped reverting back to Windows 8 would solve it, I performed a factory reset. I am currently using Windows 8 again but it's still not possible to switch to 40p hz, not even through the Intel Custom Mode App.
The graphics report from the Intel graphics control panel confirms that the monitor supports the1920x1080x40p hz mode.
Any help/suggestions to enable the 40p hz setting again is greatly appreciated!

problems installing amd drivers on HP Dv7 for windows 10
I have the HP DV7 4263cl with switchable graphics AMD chipset M880G with both Mobility Radeon HD 4250 and AMD 6370m. My processor is the AMD Phenom II. The drivers on HP's support site for my laptop are very old (2010) and work fine in Windows 7. However when I try to install the drivers in compatability mode on in Windows 8.1 or 10 or manually install them through the device manager, my computer does not respond well and doesnt install everything fully and either shuts down or shows a blue error screen.
I have tried everything and haven't had any luck getting these installed.
Please Help!!!!

My screen flashes... Please help.
Hi, today I turned on my windows 8 pavilion g6 and it turned on fine, until i got to the screen in which I choose the account I want to log onto. From there my screen starts blinking on and off. I have no idea what's wrong, and worked fine all the way until now. Nothing else happens except the screen flashes. Can someone help please? Thanks!

I have a HP G62-234DX with intel HD Graphics with the processor Intel core i-3. the driver for my laptop is properly working well on windows 7, but aftering upgrading to windows 10, the driver on intel HD Graphics is not working well. I tried to search for the driver compatible for windows 10, but i could not find the driver from your website. the resolution of the graphics on windows 7 was 1360X738, but now the resolution is 1024X 768.
So would you help me install the driver compatible with windows 10?

Hp Pavillion windows 8 stuck in safe mode- no display
My girlfriends pavillion notebook has the win 8.1 upgrade on it. It came with win 8. The display is broken and she has been using a monitor connected via the HDMI port. She was having performance issues, freeze up, delayed response type stuff. Bad enough I decided to restart in safe mode to work on it. I did so without thinking about the HDMI port not being enabled in safe mode. It was actually a Safe mode/minimal restart. So now I can not get it out of safe mode because I have no display without the HDMI port. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have tried a hard boot, where you take out the battery, disconnect everything and hold down the power button. Though highly recommended several times she did not make a start up disc or recovery disc.

Windows 10 Driver for DV7-1275DX
I'm trying to upgrade from Windows 7 Pro 64 to Windows 10. The only problem is that HP's Windows 7 video driver is not compatible with Windows 10 so I'm stuck with the default Microsoft Lo-Res video driver.
My laptop has the NVIDIA GEForce 9600M GT graphics processor so I tried to find a driver on NVIDIA's website. They only have a driver for the GEForce 9600 GT, not the 'M' version for laptops. I tried it anyway (version 341.74) but it's unstable and my laptop locks up after a few minutes.
I checked out the NVIDIA forums and apparently NVIDIA does not write the drivers for their mobile graphics processors with a few exceptions that did not include HP. So, I guess it's up to HP to come up with a Windows 10 driver, which they have not as yet.
It looks like I'm going back to Windows 7 unless someone out there has a solution.

since i have upgraded to windows 10, i m not able to adjust my laptops screen brightness cause i m not getting the option to adjust screen brightness, nor the screen brightness up and down buttons are working. Also i have updated the graphic adapter and still the condotion is same...no change!!

problem with switchable graphic cards after installing windows 10
Dear support,
after installing windows 10 i lost option to switch my graphic cards. I already have installed new drivers for win10 64-bit. But it doesn't work. New drivers which i downloaded here: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows+10+-+64 doesn't support my graphic card. So i don't know what to do to get right drivers and be able to switch my graphic cards.

Graphic Drivers for ProBook 450 G1
Recently I updated my windows to Windows 10. First there was an issue with startup of the windows. I solved the issue according to the way given on the forum here (deleting driver in safe mode).
My laptop was working properly until now, the AMD Driver and the Intel HD drivers are not working. And I can't find any drivers on the HP Website online.
My laptop is HP ProBook 450 G1

Elitebook 850G1 & HP 2013 UltraSlim Docking
Hi,
we have a curios problem with our elitebooks 850 (only g1) with discrete graphics and windows 7. if they were booted on the dockingstation (notebook is closed) they will not display anything on the external monitors. if we dis and reconnect the notebook all 3 display will work without problems.
if the notebook will be booted opened, all 3 displays (notebook + 2 monitor) are working fine.
With g2 notebooks this problem will not occure.
We've installed all HP updates, but this didn't helped....

HDMI Port not working after Windows 10 Upgrade
My HDMI port quit working after upgrading to Windows 10. The VGA port works fine. I have triend many of the fixes for listed for this issue for upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 8/8.1. Here's whay I've done so far...
1) Downloaded the most recent drivers for my Intel(R) Graphics Card.
Outcome: It said the drivers installed were newer than the driver I was installing. Tried anyway, didn't work.
2) Uninstalled the driver and let windows update it.
Outcome: Black screen, then it restarted and installed the same driver it had before.
3) Tried installing the Windows 7 Driver for my Intel(R) Graphics Card.
Outcome: Black screen, then it restarted and installed the same driver it had before.
4) At this point I tried the last resort. I spun around three times in a circle and spit in the corner.
Outcome: Wife yelled at me and kids thought I had a demon.
Please help, I use this computer in the office to connect to a 65" TV and I NEED my HDMI port.

hd intel 4000 code 43 on windows 8.1 - It only works with an older driver version

I have an HP Pavilion Sleekbook 14 PC (HP Pavilion Ultrabook 14), with a 18FA motherboard - version 82.23, F.12 Bios, and a Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000.
The graphic card only works with the 9.17.10.2932 (12/12/2012) driver, and everytime I try to update to a newer driver version, it shows the "Code 43" error. Does anyone knows how to update the drive and solve the "Code 43" error?
Without solving this issue, I can't install the Windows 10. I've tried to update to Windows 10, but it doesn't run this old graphic display driver and it only gives me a blue screen, and if I install a new driver version, there it comes the "Code 43" error.

notebook shut off wont turn back on after battery tapped
I purchased 3 notebooks all are doing the same thing. If you set the down on any surface they shut off. One of them will not turn back on. I have switched batteries and charging cords. I don't see it as a recall but it's strange that all 3 are doing the exact same thing. Power cord when plugged in has a white light but no screen will turn on. Tried 2 different batteries and 2 power cords. I have tried just plugging in no battery only power cord and holding down power button, no change.
I bought these last November 2014, I never had this problem will my Dell comouters. Anyone have any suggestions?? Very frustrated! These computers are barely used and don't leave the house, they are not abused.
